Where the hell am I? Terry thought to himself after slowly opening his eyes to see nothing but darkness surrounding him. Terry began his arms and legs. Slowly at first, to make sure he wasn’t inside a body bag and being watched, but then he waved his outstretched arms and legs all around him.
[You have entered dungeon: Parasitic Spider Nest]
[As you have entered a dungeon, Class Vampire Lord has now activated]
“Now I guess I know what it's like to wake up in someone else's home after a party. Hahaha! Just kidding. Man, it was so easy getting those guys to think I was dead. But then again, I guess those skills helped out a lot too. If only I knew how to properly use them, man, I would become the criminal lord within seconds here when it took me decades in the real world. Especially that ‘play dead’ skill, that is hella nice. And that ‘Demon King Aura’ is like sleeping gas.” Terry said aloud with a response of a quiet echo. Although, I’m glad that I had time to get on top of the pile of failures, or else I would’ve broken my spine. Terry looked above him, and although he only saw darkness, he remembered...
“Alright, push them down here.”
“Damn, won’t they die though from the fall?”
“You idiot, is this your first time disposing of heroes? They won’t die, just a couple bones will break and lots of blood will spill for the ones who hit the ground first. They will naturally die within an hour or so from the impact, but the bodies don’t need any special condition for the monsters to take over as long as they're alive. Then, once the parasites grow enough and there’s plenty of parasites, talented people enter, kill the heroic parasites, and get stronger. I don’t know why, but the spiders in here are perfect for leveling up.”
Terry was lucky enough to have regained consciousness quite early and had moved to the back of the wagon used to carry the unconscious people to the cave while the drivers were distracted for a moment. The ones closest to the wagon opening were naturally the first to fall, or become the victims of the lust of those who loaded the bodies. There were little or no imperfections in the bodies of those in the wagon with Terry, making those inside into perfect tools for the desires of men, and possibly women.
Terry wasn’t present for the ‘aptitude’ test since he was presumed dead but could imagine merely having a good body didn’t translate to the usefulness of a person which ended up with people being used and disposed of. Strangely, there was only an entrance in the ceiling which was really high up. Probably used to keep those inside stuck inside and the same for those who fell inside as well. Under normal circumstances at least. When whoever came to kill everything in the cave, they would probably have a method to lower and raise themselves from the hole.
Although, unlike before, Terry's body was now much more fit and much of his fat became replaced with the muscles of his original body. While such didn't matter as long as Terry's strength was the same, Terry now had a fit body which he was used to and made him feel prouder although he couldn't exactly see himself clearly other than feeling his new body.
But that would be a long time from now, Terry thought. If anything, I’ll be walking into a lion’s den naked by waiting for that, and I’ll have to survive these ‘spiders’ or ‘parasites’ of some kind. The worse part is, I can’t see sh*t. Damn, I should have at least half an hour from what I heard those people say before loading me. I wish I could check those ‘skills’ again, maybe there was something I could’ve used. Hmm… Terry was lost in thought for a few minutes before he heard a sound.
Bam!
Crunch!
Click!
Clang!
“That crazy b*tch, I wanted her to be conscious and feel everything by lowering her anesthetic, but I must’ve done too much cuz she took my damn sword with her in that pit of death. I can’t even see the bottom. Even though it was really strong and expensive, I can’t do sh*t now,”
A bit of light flooded through the opening at the top of the cave, allowing Terry to see a few figures falling at high speed. Terry knocked them away with ease to protect himself which caused their very bones to click from the impact alongside his own.
Terry gripped his left hand and cracked his wrist back into shape before feeling his way to the new bodies. He could assume that they were shapely and, yup, the clothes were completely gone.
Wait, the sounds were of flesh at first when hitting the ground. But the third, it sounded like, metal?
Terry began to search around the small pile of bodies that had been knocked by him to the side.
“Hmm,” Terry said to himself as he felt around blindly until something pricked his finger.
“Ow!” Terry muttered, lifting up a large blade and feeling around for a handle.
[Activating Blood regeneration]
[Equipped Magic Knights Sword=223 damage; rust-resistant; Amplify magic 50%]
Terry smiled at the messages and continued moving his hand down the blade until it reached around an end of the blade and Terry felt the leathery handle in his grip. Damn, this blade is seriously sharp! I’m really lucky! This thing could probably cut through solid rock, Terry thought. The only problem is that I've never used a sword.
[Activating Weapon Tutorial]
“Of f*cking course,” Terry said with a laugh. The large sword began to feel like a toy to Terry. Terry felt so familiar with the sword and began swinging it around. He was able to swing for quite a while and execute stunning skill for his first time holding a sword. He wasn’t an absolute master, but for a beginner, his technique was flawless.
While Terry wasn't a weapons master, he had the strength and skill to do almost anything he wanted. He had even won a video game championship when he was attempting to assassinate a famous politician who watched such championships. The experience in the game also held an uncanny resemblance to the current world.
Terry glanced over to the women who had died because of him knocking them away which had brought the sword.
“I genuinely am grateful for your help with my survival, please accept my apology,” Terry said with a small bow as he began to walk back to the bigger pile of failures.
Hmm, Terry thought, spinning around. They would be the perfect bait for the spiders or whatever that comes since there was no clothing blocking their body heat from radiating out and some are probably burning from the heat that consumes the body during and shortly after what they had been through.
Terry gripped the 4 bodies and began dragging them in the cave, blood spilled out of the corpses and dripped onto Terry but he didn’t mind much and continued to drag them. One body in each hand and another in each elbow. Terry dragged the bodies around 50 steps in diagonal directions around the cave in order to throw off a few spiders if any, from the main group. Then Terry continued back to his throne of bodies and blood with his large sword.
“Huh, what? Wait, am I late for work? Sh*t what a bad dream!” yelled a voice from just underneath Terry.
“The hell?” Terry thought.
Everyone was given a powerful anesthetic to keep them asleep for a long time and make them ignore the pain of having their bones crushed or full liters of blood spilling from them. How could this girl be conscious right now? Terry thought to himself as he pinched himself to be sure of what was going on. Then again, while these people may be failures, they might still have gotten some special abilities.
“Damn! I feel like I’m gonna be crushed!” exclaimed the voice. The voice belonged to a girl according to the body Terry felt underneath him. Terry felt himself touched over and then pushed to the side with much effort.
Actually, I should remain patient and wait for her to go to the spiders herself. Then, while they’re focused on moving prey, I can make some move.
“Huh? What the hell? What is underneath me?” said the girl. The girl felt underneath her body to figure out due to the lack of light.
“B-bodies? What’s going on?!” she exclaimed, which was only answered by the dripping of water from stalactites in the distance.
Terry could clearly tell she was frightened but decided to stay silent. If she knew she wasn’t alone, she might get Terry killed. Terry needed to use her as a guinea pig and figure out what he was up against.
The girl frantically jumped off the pile of bodies which Terry estimated to be a young adult from the voice and reaction. Attempting to find her way around, she began walking around in one direction to figure how big the cave was.
Smart girl, Terry thought. She realized that there's nothing to find in a pile of bodies and instead looks to find a way out of here. But in this case, a fool would at least stay alive, the further she gets thinking there's an exit, the closer she gets to a bunch of parasitic spiders who wanna take over her body. But all the better, Terry thought as a massive grin spread across his face. Terry shook with excitement. I wonder what screams she’ll make. Oh and her face, full of pain and fear. I wonder what these spiders can do. Where will they enter and how will it feel? Ooh! I can’t contain my excitement! If only I could see in this damn dark.
[Vampire Sight Activated]
“Hah,” Terry laughed quietly as his vision switched from complete black to black and white, showing a sort of rough outline of his surroundings. This feels like a f*cking 1950’s movie, although, I always did prefer black and white to color.
“Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh,” Terry quietly laughed. “It’s nice to finally let loose all my desires. Especially after realizing that all my restraint was for nothing. Shut up Terry-no you shut up!”
Smack!
Terry’s hand struck across his smooth porcelain skin making it pink from the impact.
“Huh?” wondered the girl aloud, turning around for a moment before continuing straight ahead to her inevitable death.
Sh*t, I all of this sitting around is making me fidgety, I need to kill something fast or at least eat something good. There's so much I can do here unlike the last world. And even better, this is just a trial so it’s as if I’m playing a damn video game where I can do whatever I want, although even if not, nothing would change. Hehehehehehehehehehehe!
Heheheheheheheheeheheheheheheeheheheheheehheehehehehehehehehehehehehehhehhehehehhehehehehehehehehehehhehheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheehehehehehehehehe! Terry laughed quietly as his massive grin grew wider until his lip eventually ripped.
“Haah,” Terry sighed. I just need to be a bit more patient. It won’t be long now.
Around 10 minutes had passed since Terry had fallen from the opening and the girl had stepped at least 200 steps or so and continued to walk.
Step, step, step.
Drip, drip, drip.
“Huh, what the hell is this?!” cried the girl. Her voice wasn’t a scream but more of a startled shout but the cave made the voice echo loudly throughout and her voice became as loud as a scream by the time it reached Terry.
She must be close to the spiders, Terry thought. Hmm, I’m kinda hungry, I wish I had some real food on me. I haven’t eaten in so long. I didn’t even eat a proper last meal and got filled with bullets instead. Well, at least I got plenty of minerals from the lead in the bullets.
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
Hehehehehehehehehehehehe!
I want some damn food! Although I’m not hungry, I feel as though I’m resisting a perfectly good meal waiting to be eaten. Terry took a quick look around the room.
But there's nothing here other than a bunch of corpses.
Wait, there’s no way, Terry began to think. I remember that weird window that said I was a vampire. F*ck! Am I a cannibal now? Terry’s body began to shake with rage and was soon covered in sweat that slithered down his spine. I will do whatever it takes to get stronger and get back and slaughter those who betrayed me. Everyone will die.
Voices began to speak inside Terry’s head like before.
You fool! Don’t sink so low, you have honor and although you may have killed, you weren’t so depraved as to rape or mutilate the corpses and this is similar to that. Don’t sink so low as to lose yourself.
The hell? No, you must get stronger, besides, if your body tells you to do so, then do it. Would you starve yourself when you were hungry, no, because it would weaken you and if you half-assed a single thing in your line of work you would die. F*ck honor, it’s what got you into this mess.
Terry continued his attempts to shake himself awake.
Kill everything! Slaughter all of your enemies! You were betrayed once, never let it happen again! Feed! Feed! Feed! Feed! Feed!
“Hrragh!” Terry began to groan. His eyes glowed red and began to light the cave dimly. Terry looked down to the pile of bodies underneath him and smiled wide, opening his mouth. His teeth began to change from the smooth, rounded shape of teeth to the long, sharp shape of daggers.
“Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! Food! Food! Food! Drink! Drink! Drink! Blood! Blood! Blood! Blood! Blood! Blood! Blood!”
Terry dug into the massive pile of bodies and sunk his sharp teeth into the smooth, soft neck of a young, light skinned, woman. He sucked the runny, sweet, rich blood from her neck and continued to drink, 1 liter, 2 liters, 3 liters, 4 liters. Terry sucked until the last drop was gone. Within a mere minute, the woman went from simple bruise marks from the fall, to completely white from the immense lack of blood.
“More!” Terry howled.
Terry began tearing through the pile of bodies, biting whatever he got his hands onto. Hand, thighs, arms, necks, heads, arms, waists, the pile of bodies soon became a fountain of blood and limbs torn apart.
Terry continued to drink his fill for 5 more minutes, stopping frequently to laugh aloud for a few seconds before continuing to enjoy his free, delicious meal.
Terry continued to revel in his feast and with the intense anesthetic keeping the food asleep, Terry could eat without a care in the world. That was until he heard a scream from far behind him.
“Aarghh!” shrieked the girl who walked deeper into the cave.
“Rrrrggg!” Terry growled in response. He raised his head from the young man whose arm was being sucked dry and opened his mouth wide. The numerous daggers embedded into his teeth began to shrink and shrink until they were the size of normal teeth.
“Haah, that crazy b*tch! Interrupting my meal after I've just awakened! Well, I’m honestly shocked she didn’t come running back after she heard my growling. Well, even if she did, I probably would’ve killed her out of embarrassment. She probably got stuck in a web or something and finally got eaten. Damn, I wish I could’ve seen it. Hehehehehehe!”
Terry began to look toward the direction of the shriek.
I gotta make sure that my vessel survives and can get out of here. Funnily enough, his consciousness is merged with my own now. Heh, well, I guess I should ignore everything about him and use my knowledge to get out of here. Especially since he knows nothing of this world. Sadly, I wonder if my strength is able to survive.
I left most of them alive so now I can get strong enough to break out of here. But first, I gotta wait for those damn spiders to show up here and take over the bodies. I should prepare before they come which won’t be long. If I want to get the maximum advantage from this hidden area and get a jump start to blitzkrieg through everything else, I’ll also have to kill the queen or whatever is producing these things which will boost my power and also f*ck over the group who knocked me in here, Terry thought to himself.
“Firstly,” Terry started. He gripped his sword firmly in his right hand and cleanly sliced off his left.
“Om.” Terry caught the sliced hand in his mouth and watched as his blood spilled onto the pile of bodies. Terry’s blood began to mix with the blood of the other bodies as Terry began to hear noise from the direction the girl went in.
Tiptaptiptaptiptaptiptaptiptap!
[Activating Blood Regeneration]
The sound of scurrying echoed into the massive room where Terry stood and caused Terry to raise his mutilated arm to the lifeless hand in his mouth as his hand began to move and the wound sealed as if nothing had happened.
Terry then proceeded to begin laughing again.
“Hehehehehe! I haven’t had a fight like this in a while. This’ll be so fun!” Terry laughed as he ran to the opposite side of where the sound produced, behind the pile of barely alive bodies, to where a small crevice opened only the size of 2 people but considering Terry’s massive muscles, it barely fit him comfortably.
Now just one thing is left.
[Activating Mask Existence]
[Activating Blood Empowerment]
[Activating Appraisal]
“Kreeech!”
“Chreeek!”
“Cheee!”
“Reeek!”
“I-I-I’m hun-h-hi-hungr-hungry!”
Terry watched as numerous spider-like creatures entered the room he stood inside of via a large tunnel connecting his room to the rest of the cave.
Those f*cking escorts! Terry shook his fist in rage. Are they f*cking stupid?! Those aren’t parasites! Oh hell no! This is way more than I signed up for. A parasite is supposed to be tiny and easy to kill, not each as big as a f*cking person! I’m so dead!
The spiders were massive, each one twice as large as Terry and equipped with 2 massive fangs each just smaller than Terry’s stolen greatsword. Alone, the spiders posed little threat, but there was a full group of at least 30 spiders of the same size. Although, a few spiders looked quite weird, in fact, unlike the other spider which made a screech noise of some kind, they actually spoke english, or whatever the language was called in the world Terry was in. There were around 5 spiders of the sort, each looking similar to a human in some way. 2 walked on four hind legs instead of all 8. a few were able to speak english but did so poorly and only expressed hunger. And the final 2 exhibited some form of intelligence by walking cautiously and keeping all of their 8 eyes trained on a different surface. But of course, that was only 5, the rest of the spiders madly rushed at the remains of Terry’s feast which were still alive but in horrible condition, they wouldn’t stand a chance whatsoever.
Terry looked at the spiders closely as they began to swallow the barely alive, failures whole or at rarely in the ripped pieces Terry left some in.
[Parasitic Giant Tarantula= Dangerous]
Alright, that's for the rabble, now for the treasures.
[Heroic Giant Tarantula= Dangerous]
Damn, no wonder that damn group feeds the failures to these spiders. These spiders seem seriously strong. People could become quite strong in here and especially a hero like this guy. But still, I can’t do sh*t against such a massive spider, and so many, they’ll rip me in half before I can probably kill a single one.
Terry watched the spiders swallowing bodies whole, bones, hair, blood, and all.
Terry waited a short while, constantly scanning the spiders, waiting for them to become ‘Heroic’ and supposedly make him stronger after killing them. Terry waited, his mouth filling with saliva, waiting for the thrill of a real battle with his life on the line.
Now then, time to begin.
Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe!
All of the bodies had been eaten whole including the four bodies which Terry dragged across the room which were far from the main group. The majority of the group stood by the main group, digesting their large meal and stabilizing their new, humanoid forms.
[Activating Raise Ghouls]
[Activating Blood Compulsion]
“Screeech!”
“Screeech!”
“Screeech!”
“Screech!”
The sound of tears and pops filled the cave as the bodies of the spiders began to expand in weird ways at different parts of each body. Many of the spiders walked around helplessly and soon Terry began to move. He used the chaos that had been created in order to safely attack the massive spiders. He began by using his launching out of the crack,
[Activating Spur]
[Activating Acrobatics]
And zipped to the nearest ‘heroic tarantula.’
[Activating Overwhelming Strength]
Slash!
Within seconds, each and every one of the spiders’ legs were sliced cleanly from its body. Terry began to lick one of the cuts with his long, wide tongue.
“Ooh! What a nice flavor. The acidic blood of a tarantula killing the cells in my tongue while I regenerate. This is what I love! The pain feels so nice! Heheheheh! Calm down! Shut up! We have plenty more to kill! Heyahahahehehehkekhea!” Terry laughed maniacally as he raised his sword and forced it down through the thick, hairy skin, and into the head of the tarantula.
“Cheeek!” it screeched before going silent.
Many of the other tarantulas paid no attention to the heroic Tarantula due to how numerous others were in worse conditions with how some began attacking each other and how others were being eaten and ripped apart from the inside.
[Level Up! 2/100]
A level up? Wow, this place really does let you level up fast, Terry thought.
“Screech!”
“Kreek!”
“Reeck!”
Terry continued to slaughter as many tarantulas as were in the room and had evolved. Although not all the spiders had evolved, Terry wished to be as efficient as possible and killed many untransformed spiders as well, after all, they were just perfectly good fruits of experience waiting to be picked. Plus, they were left to reproduce for so long and needed to be purged. Many spiders managed to spit either highly acidic or strong paralysis venom which was able to hit Terry a few times due to the sheer number of his foes. 1 spider was even able to go as far as to directly bite Terry and he was injured badly but at that point his level had increased so much that the wound wasn’t close to mortal. And even with all the other attacks he endured, Terry continued to slaughter the remaining tarantulas all with the same maniacal smile and laughter.
[Activating Spur]
Terry zipped to his next spider.
“Hahahahaha,” Terry roared as he cut through the thick skins with ease. Terry always began with cutting the back legs of the spiders to slow the reactions and then proceeded to cut a massive slit in the back. Not to kill but to engrave pain into his victims.
“Kreech!” screamed the spiders as they were consumed by pain. By now, Terry had killed around 62 spiders which had become only around a half of the tarantulas in his room of the cave due to the numerous reinforcements that continued to come. Although, the tarantulas couldn’t hope to best the might of a Vampire Lord. The spiders became quite easy to kill by that point and Terry began to swing his stolen sword through the spiders like a scissor through hair. The remaining spiders in the room had become either under Terry’s control or been ripped apart by his hero-ghouls or the other spiders which had been controlled by his blood.
[Experience Reached= Level up! 14/100]
Few spiders still entered the room but the amounts were nowhere near the original reinforcements. Something was clear, there was a leader controlling the tarantulas. A very dangerous leader. Terry killed the remaining spiders with ease and continued to think for a moment. By now Terry had reached a massive level and while he couldn’t see an enemy level, when his skill ‘Appraisal’ looked at the once ‘Dangerous’ spiders, it now saw ‘insignificant,’ under normal circumstances one would have to kill around a few hundred of an enemy for it to become insignificant but since Terry had been fighting Heroic enemies to level up, the spiders were of no threat whatsoever. But Terry wished to become as strong as he could where he was before advancing deeper. Terry swung his sword to kill his 70th spider.
[150 kinds of monster ‘Parasitic Giant Tarantula’ have been slain due to your efforts=(Passive Skill) Spider exterminator]
“Well then,” Terry started, “this’ll help loads for me to kill what’s left in this cave and escape in the end. Man, I wish that these guys would produce some kind of web so I can climb up to the roof of this place. Then again, why weren’t there any webs or spiders here when I fell?” Terry began to think. Hmm, why would those spiders only come here after full minutes and have nothing here whatsoever? Wait, considering how there's actually people who check this place and even have a job related to this place… that actually makes sense now! Terry realized. Occasionally someone probably drops a torch or something similar down here often to clear out the spiders and webs that can accumulate.
Ominous, Terry thought. Normal spiders wouldn’t have any intelligence whatsoever yet these actually respond to situations and learn through experience. This is a dangerous enemy I’m going to fight. I could try to leave here now that I’ve basically destroyed the reserves of the natives of this place. But still, I’m a Vampire Lord and they dared to throw me down here. Sure, I wanted to get down here and slaughter and become stronger, but now I’m gonna destroy any hope that this place had of helping whoever threw me down here.
“But just like before, I have to prepare optimal conditions for the upcoming fights,” Terry said.
Terry began to turn to all of the dead spiders. Terry opened his mouth wide again and his teeth changed from the rounded edges and straight rows to long, sharp daggers lined into his gums. Terry began to sink the teeth into the thick, hairy, skins of the spiders now that he was undisturbed. Terry’s eyes lit up red as he drank the thick, acidic blood of the tarantula’s. His high level made him very resistant to the acid and he healed much quicker, but he still felt the immense pain in his tongue, teeth, and gums which made him all the happier.
[Activating Raise Ghouls]
Terry raised his head from his meal and looked to his ghouls which were both failures and tarantulas he had drank from or controlled with blood and began to let out a low growl. Immediately, all of the ghouls turned to the remaining spider carcasses and ran to devour all that remained in the room. Although the ghouls didn’t level up no matter how much or what they killed and ate, they became much stronger regardless and overall became 1.5 times stronger than they were when alive.
Through feeding on the blood of the spiders, Terry had built up a strong resistance to their venom and even gained the ability to produce a stronger toxin in his numerous fangs. His fangs could produce both acid and a powerful anesthetic which made for a deadly combo.
Terry began to stand and opened his mouth long. The rows of daggers in Terry’s mouth began to shrink and come together to form the natural rows of teeth for a human. Terry smiled widely with his reformed teeth and led his army of spiders and ghouls into the 1 and only tunnel that led into the rest of the cave.
“Now then, time for the real battle, hehehehe! I can’t wait!” Terry said, shaking with excitement.
