The breadth of words of Trade Tounge that you know the correct definition, context and grammar of.
Reading
The ability to comprehend what another has written, especially by hand, more to recognise the words so the Vocabulary skill can provide their meaning.
Writing
The artistry to write either legibly or decoratively, at higher levels enabling you to do both.
Mathematics
Starting from Arithmetic but branching out into the various other fields such as probability, trigonometry and algebra.
Etiquette
The knowledge of how to act in order to avoid giving offence or committing blasphemy. Does not prevent doing so but provides a mental warning.
Carpentry
The skill of working with wood, used to transform felled trees into other objects and to work with those results that need further processing such as planks.

Processing iron and iron derived items such as steel bars, can be used to make weapons with such items.
Barrel Making
The signature skill of a cooper, used to produce kegs, tuns and similar items.
Glass Blowing
Used to heat sand and change the resulting liquid into glass. Also used to glaze windows and stain glass.
Masonry
The Skill for working with stone, includes not only laying walls but the cutting of stone from quarries and decorative carvings.
Fletcher
Although the word normally refers to the manufacturing of arrows, this skill also covers making other ammunition and hand held ranged weapons such as slingshots, shortbows, longbows and crossbows.
Alchemy
The brewing of potions and poisons, including those that restore or attack health and mana. Various alcohols are included as the vast majority attack mana.
Skinning
Incorporating tanning, this is the ability to remove flesh from animals (including humanoids), processing it into leather and using that to create furniture, clothing or armour.
Spear
This covers combat with basic polearms, collectively known as spears and tridents.
Sword
For medium swords, which are those that can be wielded one handed but don't count as rapiers.
Foils
Light swords, such as rapiers, epees and foils, traditionally used for fencing
Zweihander
For heavy two handed Swords, starting from the hand-and-a-half, going upwards.
Exotic Polearms
The skill of wielding any long, pole style weapon evolved from the spear. Excludes spears and tridents which use the Spears skill and halberds which use the Axes skill.
Axes
Including the proper uses of the great axe, battle axe, hatchet and halberd.

The skill to string longbows, shortbows and similar weapons and the firing of arrows from them.
Knives
The proper use of daggers and knives including kukris, athames and cake slices.
Crossbow
In addition to the care and maintenance and proper use of a crossbow to fire bolts also includes similar actions towards ballistas but not other siege weapons.
