Ray stared at the forest from where she sat with a blank expression. She felt the urge just to rush in there to find the plants they needed to make paper. Unfortunately, plants were not something she had studied in her past life. She couldn't tell the different grasses apart, nor did she know if any of the stemmed plants were rich in fibre.
Still, she felt restless today. It was as if something important was about to happen. Perhaps the fact that making paper to fund the orphanage was her idea was what was making her anxious to get started.
Perhaps it was instead just her intuition or that sense of deja vu that kept plaguing her. The feeling of deja vu had been annoying her since she remembered her past life, it was as if she had done certain things before. It was as if she was making familiar movements. It was as if she was making the same mistakes again.
Unfortunately, her memories were a mess. She almost wished that she could forget her past life entirely. In fact, she had once wished for such. However, with how useful it can be sometimes...
There were times when she could remember specific details. In her past life when she was 10 years old, a boy from elementary school called her cool. She remembered grinning all the way back home and bragging to her parents about it. That boy's name was Ming Jun.
That's right! She remembered some random boy's Chinese name. Yet, sometimes she would forget her old parents' names. She also had no memory as to how she died.
" Maybe... I was reincarnated by a R.O.B." Ray mumbled as she continued staring blankly at the forest. That would have explained away why she had memory problems, however, that could only be so if she was special. Yet, as far as she could tell, she was NOT special.

" Rob? What is that Ray?" Ray heard lily's voice as she was suddenly pulled into a hug. Ignoring the girl who was rubbing her cheeks with her, Ray continued to brood.
" R.O.B? Too complicated, I don't want to explain," Ray said softly. Sometimes, Ray wondered if she was cursed. Cursed with memory problems, health issues and a lack of determination. That urge to look for the plants had already died. The thought of looking through a forest to find some plants had completely extinguished whatever nervous energy she had, and had been replaced with laziness.
Unfortunately, Ray was so desperate to be special that she quickly realised that if she was indeed cursed that would have made her special. Sadly for her, she was not in fact cursed. According to Brother Jake, people who had been cursed know that they are cursed.
They don't wonder if they are cursed because the process of being cursed lets the person know that they are cursed. Also, no one would spare the effort to curse a young girl such as herself with such mundane effects.
" Am I special, Lily?" Ray mumbled as she slowly turned to look Lily in the eyes. Ray's big brown eyes, stared into Lily's blue eyes as she thought about Ray's question.
" Hmm... Yes! Ray, you are special. Everybody is special! You are my precious little moody gremlin!" Lily said while holding Ray's head between her two hands squishing her cheeks in the process.
" Sheu auw sho ewmberewsin!" Ray shouted while her cheeks her still being squished. She slight blush as she began ineffectively punching the much larger girl. Lily kept grinning as she dodged the girl's attacks while keeping her iron grip on Ray's face. (A/N: You are so embarrassing!)
A few minutes later, Lily was seated beside Ray. Ray was pouting, her slightly swollen cheeks from Lily's pinching and squishing caused her to resemble a chipmunk. A fact that caused Lily to giggle... again.
" You said that you would stop doing that!" Ray said not-so-calmly. Lily, on the other hand, was still smiling. She gently patted Ray's head as if it would soothe her.
" And you promised to stop brooding and exercise more." She said with an upbeat tone. Leaning into Ray's ear, Lily whispered.
" I know you haven't been exercising." Her cheeky smile didn't vanish as she pulled away. Ray's cheeks turned redder as she heard Lily whisper.
" I... just don't like exercising. Besides, I haven't been brooding!" Ray said defiantly.
" Then, what were you doing just now? Hmm?" Lily said as she got up to move and sit in front of Ray.
" I WAS... I was looking at the trees..."
" Oh? The same four trees you always stare at when you brood?"
" NO! I-I'm NYAAAKK!" Suddenly mid-sentence, Lily reached over and began pinching Ray's cheeks again.
" You are not keeping your promise, Ray. So there is no reason for me to stop pulling your cheeks." Lily said with a bright smile.
