Ray pulled on Grandpa John's sleeve while staring at him with puppy eyes. Though she was seven now, the attack of cuteness was super effective to the 77 year old man.
" Okay, okay… call the rest of the kids." The old man sighed with a smile and slowly made his way to a chair. Little Ray, however, sported a wide smile while she ran to get the rest of the children.
With all 31 children including Ray sitting together in the large living room all around Grandpa John, he cleared his throat with a cough. Quickly thinking of what story to tell the children, he smiled a little as he remembered a nostalgic memory.
" Well... I once met a deity," He started. The kids immediately began shouting.
" A deity!?"
" What's that?"
" Which one Grandpa John?!" Ray shouted with stars in her eyes. As the resident reincarnated person, Ray could not help but reference something from Earth.
" Is there a Zeus on Krashu, Grandpa John?" She asked innocently, touching her own chin with a finger while doing so. Her question caught the old man's attention.
" The deities are powerful beings that can be considered gods by the other worlds' standards. On Krashu we simply call them deities.
Here we actually know how deities are born and why. Deities are simply extremely powerful Enlightened who have sacrificed something important to them to become above the regular masses.
Of course, not all the Enlightened can become as powerful as a deity even if they sacrifice their life. Why this is? We don't have enough proof to know whether it is just a matter of talent or something else." The old man said.

" Do humans worship deities on Krashu, Grandpa?" Ray asked curiously.
" Some do, it is up to each person. I worship The smiling boy of the sun and moon." John said with a kind smile.
Hearing that even their revered Grandpa John worshipped a deity, the children went wild again. Some said that they too would worship The smiling boy of the sun and moon, while others began asking about other deities. Ray, however, had a different question.
" Grandpa John, Grandpa John, why is his name so long? Why is it not just... erm, John!" Ray asked while shouting loud enough to be heard over the rest of the children.
" Good question, Ray! I was about to speak about that before everyone interrupted me." As he said so, the children began slapping each other on the arm or covering another child's mouth to stop each other from talking.
" Now, 'The smiling boy of the sun and moon' is actually a title that we humans gave to the deity nearly ten thousand years ago when he first emerged. Can anybody tell me what year it is?" He asked the crowd of children who had no idea what was going on outside their no-so-little orphanage.
As he had expected, the children simply kept silent and waited for an answer.
" Can you guess, Ray?" Ray panicked a little as she was singled out but quickly settled down.
" Um... 1 million?" She half asked half said while tilting her head. Seeing her opportunity, Lily, who was sitting next to her, gave Ray a little pat on the head. Hearing her answer, Grandpa John smiled and answered.
" Not quite, but according to the deities, we are in the year 2 million, 53 thousand, 4 hundred and 7(2,053,407). At least, since they started counting."
" That is a very big number, right Grandpa?" Lily asked.
" Umu, umu, it is a super big number, Lily," Ray interjected before Grandpa John could answer, nodding with her eyes closed and with her hands folded. Lily proceeded to poke Ray's cheek.
" The smiling boy of the sun and moon was given his title because his right arm is made of sunkissed gold and his left arm is made of moonbathed silver. He is also always smiling.
All deities are given titles according to their appearance since they never give their names. So, no Ray, there is no deity named Zeus here. Now, one might ask, how do we know if he or she is a real deity? Well, there is a very easy way to check.
A deity who wants to make its presence known is very easy to identify. Reality tends to bend when a deity arrives. When The smiling boy of the sun and moon appeared, everything seemed to become brighter.
According to one of my old friends, when the deity The one who stands in shadows appeared, the sky did not become darker but the shadows began to lengthen. Strange right?" Grandpa John continued. The children simply nodded as he spoke.
" Now, I shall tell you a story about the time I met The smiling boy of the sun and moon in person," He said.
