Chapter 5
After Father left... There was a few minutes of silence, before Earl broke it by asking "Why are you covered in what I can only assume is blood?"
"Don't worry, it's not human." after I said that, he gave me a look as if saying, "Go on?"
"A wolf attacked me and I killed it, the reason I am covered in blood is from dragging it back"
"Interesting, to what extent did the damage from... What did you call it? 'Meatball?' Do?"
"Don't know, it dodged it."
"Then how did you kill the wolf?"
"I ended up firing a smaller one, but it was faster than the other one, and killed it."
"So, your magic follows the same system as Water..." he mumbled the last part to himself.
"Alright, from now on I shall teach you what I know about magic, but first... Clean yourself off."
After he said that, I washed myself off with a bucket of water that he had beside the house, and walked back in. "I didn't get the chance to ask before, but where did you get that gauntlet? It looks to be imbued with magic, but I do not see any runes on it." After he asked that, I relayed the story of what happened to him.
"A storage magic you say? The only one I've heard of is an ancient magic, but it was just to the extent that it could hold items, not make them into something else." he said, before following up with "Okay, it's decided, firstly I'll explain the basis of water magic to you, Fires basics, then we will try to figure out that... Marking."
Over the next few days we went over the basics of magic. Which for water is, the bigger the attack the slower it moves, but there are moves that are still big but move fast, though they do not do as much damage as the slower ones. Its basically, the smaller attacks cast faster, and do less damage, whereas the bigger attacks are slow to cast, and move slower.
For fire, it is generally the bigger the flame (Size) the hotter it is, but harder to handle. What I mean by that is, alot of people burn themselves with their own flames due to summoning too hot of one in close proximity to themselves, granted there is a few attacks that deal with launching small flames that are hot enough to melt iron in a second, but those are really advanced and not many people can do them. There is also attacks that make pillars of flames, or explosions.
for a month after that he started teaching me basic spells for fire. Which include, Fire ball, Fire bolt, and Scorch. Fire ball, basically just manifests fire onto your hand and then you throw it. What is interesting though, is that it isn't hot until it is thrown, When I asked Earl about it, he told me its due to your inner energy, flowing into the flames. It is not until it sustains itself that it burns.
Fire bolt is basically a miniature fire ball. The only difference is, its mainly used for lighting rather than attacking.
Scorch relies on being in physical contact with your target and rapidly heating up their flesh from the inside out. It isn't really used much, due to the fact that no one will let someone with a fire affinity that close to them, and monsters aren't too fond of being touched by people.
If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
After that, he told me to self train with my meat magic using water as the basis for it. Which lead to about a month of, well nothing of any importance, except for one attack that makes small spears of blood. Each one a few inches long, and about a centimeter in diameter, but I can only use three spears at a time.
It has about the same destructive force as a Meatball, but it lacks the power of it. What it lacks in mass, it makes up for with speed.
After I made that attack, Earl said he has some things to do so I didn't see him for a few days.
During those days I worked on my fire magic, to try to speed up my casting, on the third day
he came back with a stack of paper.
"I finally figured out what that mark was on your hand, it's actually a ancient elven storage rune." he said. "Though I can't see why it'd only take the bones."
The next day was full of experiments to try to get my hand back to normal. It turns out we were over thinking it and all I had to do was envision the gauntlet being pulled into my hand.
The next month was spent by doing experiments with my blood, or injecting various types of blood into me. Starting with elven blood, the only problem was it accelerated my growth, I now look like a six year old. On a relevant note, after my growth was accelerated my body rejected any blood that wasn't elven, it didn't even allow human blood to be transfused into it.
After trying for a few more days with various types of blood, another marking appeared but this time on my right hand. Though this time it didn't look skeletal, it moreso was as if you were looking through the skin, it appeared as if the muscles and tendons were visable, or as if someone pulled all the skin off my hand.
The next 9 months were based on practical combat, whether it involved killing Demonic beasts, or mere wolves. One of the things I learned during that time, is I can use the blood in the tattoo on my right hand as if it were my own. I tried to make a attack using the bones in the marking on my left hand, but the most I could do was launch small spikes.
And although I say demonic beasts, it was only the lesser ones, Like imps, or goblins. And now it was finally one year since I was left with Earl, when I head back to the house after some... Hunting, I see my father outside of the building.
"Oh hey~ Lets get going before earl gets back. Go get your stuff and get ready" he said. "The trip is gonna be awhile."

Thanks for reading! I was going to do more, but I haven't decided his Fiances personality, So if anyone wants to give ideas
for that, I will consider them.
Sorry that this chapter was like... Super serious, but I can't really add comedy into it with the training.
