As my team and I entered the boss room to face Rexxy, I wasn't as nervous as I was last time. This time I was sufficiently levelled and a Qi cultivator and so was my team. the gas masks on and steps assured, we headed towards a cave mouth at the cliff face made of black volcanic rock. Lava flows made a natural barrier to our sides, and volcanic boulders dotted the field. As we passed the half way mark, I called out a halt.
"Okay, few more meters, and Rexxy will come out of her cave", I instructed. "julia set up behind that rock and make sure you can see the party, but also be ready to duck behind it when needed"
she nodded assent and headed to the rock I pointed at. "Gibil you get stealth and ready for a critical on the back of the head", I said, turning to Gibil. "And he's already gone", I sighed. "You two tank spank, watch the tail and do not put your back to the lava" Looking at Thomas and Lucas ", ill be at this rock right here. Ill wait till Thomas takes agro"
running to get behind the volcanic boulder, I signalled to start the fight.

Thomas walked up slowly to the cave. he was nervously tanking what essential was a baby Godzilla was a freighting experience, he looked at the shield he got from the last mini boss

it was great for a tank; the lizard boss was a huge breaded dragon that had a blood-breath. but what Thomas thought was huge was nothing compared to, as Max called Rexy, 13meters tall with a head the size of a Volkswagen beetle, came the biggest Komodo dragon he had ever seen stamping out of the cave, it saw Thomas in first and roared an ungodly roar that rattled his rib cage. then silence only his breath reverberating in his gas mask. Thomas steeled himself and shouted "Charge" activating his warrior skill the world zipped around him and he was shunted forward towards Rexy at incredible speed, hit with a slash from his cobra sword, he followed it with another skill "shield bash" his shield glowed transferring some of its defence into damage, as he slammed it into the leg of Rexy. Thomas when to work slashing and bashing the boss, Lucas unleashed his own charge at some point and was now carving big chunks into the beast with his great sword, he could also hear the cracks of Max's revolvers and the casual mana bullet.

"lookout!" Lucas shouted; as the tail came around, Thomas hadn't noticed he a repositioned; he was hit, skidding towards the edge of the lava. Rexy chased after him; Thomas knew this was the end then he saw hope in the form of a falling Gibil, draggers raised in the air glowing green, descending down onto the back of Rexys head. the pained roar as those daggers slammed into the discoloured hit spot of Rexy.
using that brief moment, Thomas picked himself up and shifted to be in the correct position. Healing washed over him as Julia cast her spell. the battle was quick and with no more incidents, Max called out when he did his breath attack and the party ducked behind rocks to avoid it; their health was kept high thanks to the perfect timing of Julia's heals.
And soon, they were looting and moving onto the 3rd floor

over the next week, the party cleared floors at a rapid pass only returning to sleep and restocking on supplies during this time Will had become a full disciple of master chi and headed out on an adventure of their own.
"Master, do you think we're getting close?" will ask.
"Yes, the woodlands are turning into highlands, and the wolves' dens are getting more frequent." master chi replied with an irritation-laced voice; they were on the second floor of the American tower, which was called the wolf floor for obvious reasons.
Will had gained two new key chains, neither were as good as the nine-tailed chain, but they were the alpha and omega wolves chain; these chains gain a bonus to attack, and the difference was depending on if he was the leader of a party or just a member. right now, he was following master chi, who told him to leave it in its unchained state to gain more chains.
they were cresting a rise when master chi gave a hand signal to get low. as will looked out over the hill they were on, he saw why, down the hill was a canyon that led to a large cave. The trees in the canyon made a thick canopy casting the area In shadows.
"This is where the beast will be," master chi said softly. "I sense something is different here"
"Okay, so what do we do?" will ask
"We?" master chi questioned with a cheeky smile. "No, my student, you are going to fight the beast like you have all the other monsters on these floors"
"why?" Will was shocked. He thought for sure master chi would help with this
"Even if it is a boss, it's on the second floor, while I hunt on the 22nd floor", master chi. "This would be no challenge for me"
"Okay, I get it" Will nodded. "But man, come on, it's a boss"
"yes, a worthwhile challenge for my young student. I agree" With that, he pushed his student, sending him tumbling down the hill. if Will looked back, he would see a smile on the man's face.
"goddam old geezer", Will cursed his master. "Okay, doggy, let's see what you are made of"
unsheathing his katana, he stepped into the canyon and into the shadows. Will noticed these shadows were thicker and darker than anything he had experienced before.
