Vol.20 Ch.10: Racing for Griffins

Damn, they're farming the griffins this early? Julia monitored the enemy's movements through a ward she placed in Top Jungle. There, she saw Charming and Rosemary joining hands to clear out the griffins.

Well, duh of course they’re gonna do it. Julia sighed. Dan just came back to life and he's still Lv. 1, so he can’t do shit about this. So, can I do something?

Julia entertained the idea of going in to steal the griffins, but she decided against it in the end. Werewolf is a bit too dangerous, especially this early into the game. I remember Yuel drowning with matchup knowledge like that all the time...

As the Mid Laner, Julia had to know how to classify the threat level of enemies. As such, she had to know which classes were too dangerous to deal with and in which situations. Yuel stuffed her with that kind of knowledge on a regular basis.

I guess I'll let them take the Griffin Camp for free. Julia pouted. They better be thankful I'm so generous!

Next, her eyes naturally laid on the Griffin Camp in Bot Jungle. This one is uncontested right now. Hmm. Can I solo it? Pretty sure it's doable, but it's gonna cost me.

The griffins were the tankiest creeps after Dragon and Overlord. So, even a Pyromancer wasn't strong enough to swiftly murder them at Lv. 3. Julia would have to lose quite a bit of HP to pull this off.

Not worth it. She concluded. I guess I'll have to play nice like Howard wants me to, at least for now.

And so, Julia left PrinceCharming to her devices and allowed the bastard to enjoy this fake status quo. It was hella annoying to let a Sage get away with all of this, but there was no other choice for now.

At least they're not gunning for the other Griffin Camp just yet. Julia sighed in relief when she saw Charming return to the lane alone. This meant Julia still had the opportunity to catch up to Charming’s exp.

"Dan, we’ve gotta take the other Griffin Camp," Julia asserted. "Get over here after this wave."

"Yep, that's the plan." Dan nodded. "It's not like I got much else to do anyway, haha..."

Dan's tale was a sad one. Not only did he die early, but when he returned to the jungle… it was almost entirely empty. There was nothing left for him. Nothing!

In Bot Jungle, his teammates cleared the Ogre Camp and Wolf Camp, the usual script. Meanwhile, in Top Jungle, the enemy stole literally every single camp.

At this point, what options did Dan even have left? There was only the Hyena Camp in Bot Jungle. For a Lv. 1 crook like him, it was the only relevant camp right now.

Heck, even the Hyena Camp was pretty stressful to farm alone at Lv. 1. Like, Chronomancer was ultimately a mage at its core, so it was pretty squishy. On top of that, only Dan had Chronostatis as an offensive spell at Lv. 1. After spending it, he had to rely on basic attacks.

Now, sure, Chornomancer’s basics were actually pretty decent for a mage, just like Pyromancer’s. But, they only really shined when combined with Haste to buff the Attack Speed, something Dan couldn’t do right now to. Sad life.

So, not only did he end up wasting a lot of time, but he also ate a bunch of attacks from the Hyenas. He entered the camp with 100% HP and left with 75%.

It's like I revived just to get pwned all over again, haha... Dan laughed dryly. Worst of all, I'm literally stuck right now. Like, I can't do anything meaningful because there are literally no dang camps anywhere on my side!

By the time he finished off the hyenas, the second minion wave arrived on all lanes. This meant Julia was currently too busy to help him with farming the griffins, and he sure as hell couldn’t handle these bad boys on his own.

So, with all camps in Top Jungle on cooldown, there was literally nothing for Dan to do at the moment! Gah!

"Hey, July! can I come to steal some of your farm in Mid? Pretty please? I mean, I've got nothing else to do, haha…"

"Over my dead body," Julia responded. "I need this farm."

"Yeah, figured…" Dan sighed. "Well, okay. I guess I'mma rotate over to Mid anyway. Might find a gank opportunity or something."

"Fine by me as long as you don't touch the farm."

And so, left without any other viable options, Dan rotated to Mid in advance. Hopefully, something good will come out of that.

Honestly, everything about the current situation sucked. People always be like "Meh, dying early isn’t a big deal, bruh." But it kinda was though.

Sure, the respawn timers were short and the killer didn't get much exp and gold for the kill. Nonetheless, this early death completely screwed Dan’s game plan. He was lagging behind everybody in every possible way.

Welp, it is what it is. Dan sighed. Gotta stay positive and see how I can come back from this.

As he approached Mid, he searched for an opportunity to strike the enemy Sage. Maybe he'll be lucky and that girl will let her guard down at some point. After all, these girls were amateurs, right? They should have some openings.

Unfortunately, Sage was one of these zoners that had no problem farming from afar. So, it was impossible to find any juicy opportunities to strike PrinceCharming.

All Dan could do was stand in Bot Jungle like a scarecrow, waiting for the minion wave to end. He was unable to participate in anything that was going down in the game right now...
