Hope

As the battlefield quieted, demon citizens cautiously emerged from their hiding places, gathering to witness the aftermath of the chaos. The faint glow of fires illuminated the devastated streets of Albille, and whispers filled the air.

Above, in the dark sky, shapes began to appear, strange silhouettes descending closer with each passing moment. As they approached, they became visible to the naked eye. The crowd quickly recognized the figures and collectively bowed in reverence.

Five massive dragons landed on the ground, their presence exuding power and authority. From the first dragon, a tall figure stepped down, a man whose very stance commanded respect. He was Othid the Diplomat, one of the Five Generals of the Demon Kingdom’s royal army.

Othid, a towering figure at 195 centimeters, with short black hair. A jagged scar ran across his left eye. His physique was both bulky and defined. He wore a royal military uniform adorned with intricate designs and gleaming gold medals, each telling a story. As Othid dismounted, four other commanders followed suit. The crowd fell silent as Othid raised his hand and addressed them.

"My dear brothers a sisters" his deep voice rang out "I offer my sincerest apologies for the destruction brought upon the beautiful city of Albille." His gaze swept over the gathered demons "I, Othid, one of the Five Generals of our kingdom, vow that destruction like this will never happen again!"

The crowd erupted into cheers, their faith in him unwavering. Othid waited a few moments, letting the fervor settle, before continuing.

"And as for the one responsible for all of this..." His voice dropped "His name is Kajin, the son of our queen."

A gasp rippled through the crowd. The words struck like a thunderclap, leaving the demons frozen in shock. The murmurs began almost immediately, whispers of disbelief and confusion spreading like wildfire.

"Quiet!" Othid's voice boomed, cutting through the noise. The crowd instantly fell silent, every eye fixed on him.

After a pause, he spoke again, his tone measured but firm. "It is better to discuss this matter later, my brothers and sisters. Do you not think it is disrespectful to the queen to gossip here and now?" His words were met with murmurs of agreement, and the crowd shifted uncomfortably.

Othid raised his right hand, his voice steady and reassuring. "Do not fear. Though Kajin may be powerful, stronger than most of our forces, he is not invincible. He is not the strongest."

Having said his piece, Othid turned away, his cloak fluttering in the warm breeze as he leaped onto his dragon’s back. He cast one last glance at the crowd, his expression unreadable.

"I trust that when we next meet, it will be under better circumstances, perhaps even to celebrate a great event."

With that, he signaled to his commanders. Each mounted their dragons with practiced ease, their presence as imposing as ever. With a mighty beat of wings, the dragons ascended into the sky, their silhouettes fading into the darkness.

The citizens remained still for a long moment, their thoughts racing with questions about what they had just learned.
