Chapter 14 - The Journey

"One day, after training, Agnus visited me again, beating me like always. While doing so, he was talking about some gold that the Royal Castle was going to transport somewhere in a few weeks. During the four years of beatings from him, I had started to endure most of the pain, and my body was in better shape to do anything crazy. After Agnus left for a far mission, I escaped from the tower, sneaking into the massive carriages that were going to transport the gold. I hid there for a day before being discovered.

I was chased by the three commanders of the third, fourth, and fifth army. I tried my best to escape, but I was far too slow, and they caught up to me. Having no other choice, I fought them. Even though I won, I wasn't able to successfully leave without notice. I stumbled upon the city of Albille, and right as I entered the gates to the city, the guards and the soldiers within recognized me and chased after me... And I guess you know the rest."

Kajin sighed heavily and then fell onto the bed.

Ruya nodded and sat up from the chair. "Yeah, I learned the rest from Anastasia... Your story is wild."

Kajin chuckled. "Hmph. At least I wasn’t a baby like you who tried to kill himself," he said, making fun of Ruya.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

Ruya immediately got mad and shouted, "Watch your mouth, Kajin! Don’t make me fry that face of yours too." He crossed his arms and tilted his head up, angry at Kajin’s words.

Kajin giggled and said, "You are funny." Finding Ruya’s reaction hysterical, Kajin got up from his bed and walked toward the window. Ruya followed him with his eyes.

Kajin crossed his arms and looked out at the mountains as it rained. "I have decided to accept your... words, I may say, and take you with me on my journey," said Kajin, his tone serious.

Ruya jumped in excitement, hearing Kajin’s statement. "Hell yeah, baby! We are taking off!" he shouted with excitement.

Kajin looked at him with confusion, a small smile cracking on his face. "No need to throw a party over it, Ruya," said Kajin, his gaze returning to the mountains.

Ruya nodded, his eyes glowing with happiness. Kajin continued, "We are leaving tomorrow, so you should go and see your friends one last time before we start."

Ruya stopped for a moment and replied, "Alright! I’ll be going now!"

Kajin, remembering something, turned around. "Oh, and Ruy—" But Ruya had already disappeared.

Kajin smiled and then walked back to the bed. Sitting down, he started to meditate.

"Suddenly, the feelings I had earlier have completely disappeared… Hm... Maybe opening up made me release some of my pain and understand it. But right now is not the time to wander too much. A journey... is about to begin."

Kajin slowly closed his eyes, clearing his mind, and began to meditate.
