Inside the Celestial Records—
"Mn..." "Mm..." The twins groaned a little, their eyes flickering open as they slowly regained consciousness. Miyabi and Mizuki, twins whose hair colors were as different as night and day, found themselves in a dimly lit room with familiar surroundings, though from their perspective, many things had changed.
Recalling the fight—if one could even call it that—the twins remembered Librarian using "Akashic Records", a hidden aspect of her skill that they had never seen before.
"ずるい!ずるい!" (Not fair, not fair!) The twins exclaimed in frustration, stomping their feet like rabbits when agitated. Their puffed-out cheeks made them look like two adorable chipmunks.
"Grr! I mean, what's with that!?" The twins grumbled, their voices filled with annoyance. "Isn't it unfair to summon our future selves and use their improved abilities against us? It's like she had an unfair advantage from the start!"
""Cheater, Cheater! Librarian is a cheater!"" The twins chanted in unison, their voices echoing through the room. They rolled on the floor in frustration, their limbs flailing in protest. Back and forth, they rolled and kicked, their frustration intensifying with each revolution. And then, bonk, they collided with each other, their heads knocking together. Dazed, they paused for a moment, before starting to cry in pain.
""Uuh... Waah~!"" They cried out in frustration, tears streaming down their faces. It was the first time they had tasted defeat, and it left a bitter taste in their mouths. Ever since they got their powers, they have always been invincible, winning every battle effortlessly. None of their sisters at the laboratory had been able to match their strength and skill.
"All of them got stronger..." Miyabi muttered, wiping away their tears. "And Librarian's the weakest of us too," Mizuki added, her voice filled with disappointment.
"For them, a millennium had already passed while we remained the same. We might have unsealed our powers after a century, but it won't matter if we can't adapt and grow as well." Miyabi's voice trembled with frustration as she spoke.
"Miyabi, what should we do? Now that all of our stock of darkness had been all purified, we wouldn’t be able to use any of our skills…” Mizuki's voice quivered with worry as she voiced her concern.
"I don't know... We can't replenish our stock of darkness for the time being since that poses the risk of repeating the same mistake." Miyabi sighed heavily, her brows furrowing in deep thought.
"It's because of that imbecile!" Mizuki exclaimed angrily, her voice filled with resentment. "I have no idea what he did to disable your Purgatorial Darkness' purifying capabilities, Mizuki, but at least we could feel relieved that that human supremacist cockroach is no longer a threat to us."
Mizuki nodded in agreement, her anger slowly subsiding. "Did you make sure he lived to regret his actions?" she asked, her voice tinged with a hint of curiosity. "Mm. I'm sure he's living as one of the "demi-humans" he despises so much."
Mizuki's eyes gleamed with satisfaction as she imagined the man's fate, knowing that he was now experiencing the very thing he had detested. The twins' twisted sense of justice was satisfied, knowing that he was now forced to live the life he had condemned others to. They found solace in the fact that his own actions had come back to haunt him, serving as a reminder of the consequences of his hatred and prejudice.
Even without the darkness corrupting them, for as long as they could remember, they had always possessed a sinister sense of justice. Their moral compass had always been skewed, and they found satisfaction in seeing others face the consequences of their actions.
Though it was limited to criminals and wrongdoers, not included in their definition of justice were those wrongly accused or victims of society's injustices. For them, murderers had to be murdered based on the number of lives they had taken, and rapists were sex-changed and raped by horses, all in the name of their twisted version of justice.
''Ugh... These twins make my head ache," Librarian muttered under her breath as she opened another portal in her otherworldly library. "Why did decades of living like normal humans not cure their twisted sense of justice? It's as if their experiences in society only fueled their desire for vindication rather than instilling empathy and understanding. Perhaps their obsession could be linked to the origin of their abilities."
""Ah! The cheater!"" The twins exclaimed in unison, noticing Librarian as she stepped out of the portal she created to travel inside her expansive library. "Stop! Big Sis Librarian!" Miyabi called out, her hands on her hips.
"You had to pay the Imouto Tax for the transgression of cheating in our reunion fight!" Mizuki added, pointing a finger accusingly at Librarian. ""We won't let you get away if you don't pay up!""
"Is that so? How about I pay you by giving you access to anime, light novels, and manga my library has to offer?" Librarian proposed with a mischievous smile, though inside she was secretly hoping they would accept her offer. 'Hopefully, they'll bite, but I have a feeling they won't be easily swayed,' she thought.
Miyabi and Mizuki exchanged skeptical glances, unsure if they should accept Librarian's offer. After a moment of silence, Miyabi finally spoke up: "H-Hmph. D-don't think we'll be easily swayed by your offer." Although she was trying to maintain a tough facade, the twins couldn't help but drool at the proposal.
'Oh, well, time for plan B,' the Librarian thought, noticing the twins' subtle reaction. She decided to sweeten the deal by mentioning the sweet deal that would surely tempt them even further. "I'll add sweets to the offer. How about a lifetime supply of your favorite treats? And not just any treats, but the finest, most delectable confections from all across the dimensions."
""Kyaa! Deal!"" exclaimed the twins in unison, their eyes widening with excitement. ""Hurry, hurry! Show us what treats you have in store for us!""
Watching the twins jump up and down with anticipation, Librarian couldn't help but smile. 'It was only at times like these that the twins seemed so humane...' Seeing the twins so eager and enthusiastic made the Librarian feel a sense of relief.
"Come, let's eat some sweets and satisfy our sweet tooth," the Librarian said, leading the twins through another portal, entering a room with a table filled with an array of chocolatey delights. The twins' eyes widened as they took in the sight of the mouth watering treats, their excitement reaching new heights.
""いただきます!"" The twins exclaimed in unison, using the Japanese phrase for "Let's eat!" They eagerly grabbed a piece of chocolate each, savoring the rich flavors that danced on their taste buds. The Librarian smiled, pleased to see the twins enjoying themselves. "I knew you would appreciate this little indulgence," she said, as they continued to sample different chocolates and explore the magical world of sweets.

"Master and ladies, your tea," Henrietta said, bowing slightly as she presented the delicate porcelain tea cups filled with steaming hot tea. After indulging in the delectable chocolates, the twins eagerly reached for their teacups, the warm aroma wafting up to their noses. They took a sip, relishing in the comforting flavors that complemented the sweetness of the chocolates perfectly.

However, the sweet and chocolatey tea party had to end. The twins' expressions turned serious as they set down their empty teacups. Lacing her fingers and resting her chin on her hands, Miyabi turned to Librarian and asked, "So why did you summon us to the world of Arentha, Librarian?"
Before Librarian could answer she was interrupted. "Miyabi, Miyabi, you have chocolate on your face," Mizuki whispered to her twin with an alluring smile. "Let me help you clean it off." She stood up and sat on Miyabi's lap, using her tongue to directly lick the chocolate off her face. Sensually and slowly, she traced her tongue along Miyabi's cheek, savoring the sweet taste of chocolate and her twin's soft skin.
As though reading Librarian's mind, Mizuki sent a cold smile her way, advising her not to interrupt their intimate moment. "Now, Miyabi, how about you return the favor?" Mizuki suggested, her hot breath tickling Miyabi's ear.
In response to Mizuki's suggestion, Miyabi eagerly licked her black-haired twin's cheeks, licking the non-existent traces of chocolate off her face. Their eyes met in a heated gaze, filled with desire and a hint of mischief.
Not wanting to waste any more time, Mizuki leaned in and captured Miyabi's lips in a passionate kiss, sealing their intimate connection. The taste of chocolate mingled with their shared desire, intensifying the moment and leaving them both craving more as a thin line of saliva connected their lips. They pulled away, breathless and flushed, their hearts pounding in sync with the rhythm of their forbidden love.
"Let's continue this later," Miyabi whispered, scolding her twin with a playful smile. "We have to hear Librarian's explanation for sending us to another world, mm-kay?" Mizuki nodded, her eyes still filled with the lingering passion from their kiss. She reluctantly tore herself away from Miyabi's embrace, but she did not relinquish her place on top of her twin's lap.
'Now speak, Librarian.' Mizuki's eyes seemed to say, urging Librarian to hurry up so she could have more time to exchange passionate kisses—and even more than that with Miyabi.
"Ahem," Librarian cleared their throat, trying to regain her composure. "Well, you see, the two of you would be in danger if you stayed on Earth," Librarian replied with a grave tone. "You were aware to whom your abilities originated, correct?" Miyabi and Mizuki nodded in unison, their eyes filled with understanding.
"Luckily, they didn't attack Earth because the two of you were there," Librarian continued, "they were waging a war against the Supreme God and were solely focused on eliminating any threats to their power and dominance."
Upon hearing the word "war," Miyabi's ears perked up, and her eyes sparkled with excitement. It seems the darkness' corruption wasn't the one behind Miyabi's battle junkiness, but rather a deep-rooted desire to fight foes and prove her strength. "Then send us back there!" Miyabi exclaimed eagerly, her voice filled with determination.
"We can help in the war against those entities and assist in restoring balance and peace. We will use our skills and powers to protect the innocent and ensure that the Supreme God's reign remains unchallenged. Together, we shall bring an end to their tyranny and establish a new era of harmony."
Not listening to Miyabi's fake conviction—as she knew the young lady's true intentions—Librarian sighed and said, "Miyabi, you knew, as well as I do, that your true intentions are far from noble. However, no matter how convincing your words may be, I will not be swayed. Or rather, even though you successfully convinced me, I couldn't send you back to Earth."
"But why!?" Miyabi pleaded, her eyes welling up with tears. Her twin sister’s frigid and frightening stare bore into Librarian conveying that if her explanation proved to be inadequate, there would be consequences. Librarian took a deep breath, trying to maintain composure, and replied, "Miyabi, did you notice the millions of earthlings that had gone missing before I sent you to Arentha?"
"Mm." Miyabi nodded, her tears still streaming down her face. "All of those individuals had—miniscule though it was—the potential to become Heroes and Demon Kings and were sent to different worlds. Those entities removed them from Earth to decrease the planet's fighting force and make it easier to invade Earth."
"It was a calculated move to weaken Earth's defenses and ensure their success in the invasion," the librarian added, her voice filled with a mix of anger and a sense of futility. "And to prevent anyone from sending them back or providing reinforcements to Earth, they also placed a god-tier barrier around the planet that made it impossible for anyone to enter or exit. This barrier trapped the Heroes and Demon Kings in their respective worlds, leaving Earth vulnerable and defenseless against the impending invasion."
Mizuki didn't so much as pale at Librarian's words; her antipathy towards those who were not her twin sister was evident. As long as Miyabi was safe, Mizuki couldn't care less what happened to the rest of the world. She had always been fiercely protective of her sister, and her loyalty knew no bounds. In her mind, nothing else mattered as long as Miyabi was out of harm's way.
On the other hand, Miyabi looked as though she had heard the world's end—well, Earth was literally going to end—but it's not because she was worried about the inhabitants of Earth. She was more gloomy about missing the chance to fight exhilarating battles if she was unable to go back.
"Haah," Librarian sighed as she watched Miyabi's despondent expression. "Look, Miyabi. Did you forget that the two of you are currently powerless without your stock of darkness? What would be the point of going back to Earth if you can't even fight?"
"Urk," Miyabi winced at the reminder, having been so caught up in her desires to return to Earth and fight. "So. uh, what do we do now? Do we just chill in Arentha and let Earth handle its own problems?"
Librarian shook her head. "While I did summon the two of you to elude the eyes of those entities that seek to get back the fragments of their power inside you and your twin sister, your purpose goes beyond that."
"Look at the back of your hands," Librarian continued, pointing at Miyabi's and Mizuki's hands. "Hmmm... When did I get these magic circle tattoos on my hands?" Miyabi asked, examining the intricate designs.
It was a magic circle with a 6-point star inside a 14-sided polygon. Miyabi searched her memories, trying to recall when and where she could have gotten these tattoos. "Ah!" Miyabi suddenly exclaimed, hitting her fist against her palm. "That time I used Role-Play to manifest Abyss!"
"Which is me!" Mizuki chimed in, pointing at herself with a proud smile. I'm so happy that even without your memories, you still prioritized getting me out of my seal." The twins' eyes burned with their love—not sisterly, but a romantic love that transcended their familial bond.
The two of them were ready to engage in another heated exchange, eager to once again taste each other's passion and desire. Librarian cleared her throat to interrupt their intimate moment, bringing back the focus to the conversation at hand.
"Indeed, that's when you acquired those tattoos," the Librarian confirmed. "I designed it so that when you released Mizuki from her seal, the tattoos would emerge."
"The six-pointed star represents the "Holy Trinity" and "Wretched Triad", while the tetradecagon symbolizes the "Seven Holy Virtues" and "Seven Deadly Sins". The Librarian explained, "While you are here in Arentha Miyabi and Mizuki, I want the two of you to become Gods. I want you to understand both the divine virtues and the dark temptations that exist within humanity."
"Aren't we already powerful enough?" Mizuki asked, her voice filled with skepticism. "I mean, you're a god already, and we could beat you so easily. Without resorting to those cheap schemes of yours, such as summoning our future selves, there's no way you could win against us, Librarian." Miyabi crossed her arms, puffing her cheeks as once again she remembered Librarian's underhanded tactics.
'These girls don't understand..' Librarian thought to herself, her eyes narrowing as she contemplated how to make them see the error in their principles. "How about this: Let's assume that the two of you were already gods. How would the two of you bring judgment to a sinner whose crimes were unforgivable and beyond redemption?"
""Hmph, that's easy!"" The twins' voices chimed in unison, their confidence evident. "Depending on their crimes, they'll either die once or die multiple times, each death more painful than the last. We would ensure that they suffer for eternity, never finding peace or redemption."
""That's our Extreme Justice!"" The twins smirked, their twisted sense of justice clearly displayed on their faces. 'Can't say I didn't see that coming,' Librarian thought to herself, clutching her head in pain.
"Which is wrong," she finally spoke up, her voice strained. "One of the prerequisites to becoming a god is to possess humanity, which is, unfortunately, something you both lack. No matter how powerful you two are, you will never truly understand the depth of compassion and empathy that is necessary for true justice."
"And while you're here in Arentha, using the Divinity Guide Tattoo—the tattoo on your hands—obtain humanity by seeing the ugliness and beauty of mortals. Watch them drown in their sins, beg for redemption, and experience the fragility of their existence while also witnessing their acts of kindness, selflessness, and resilience. Only then will you begin to grasp the complexities of human nature and the intricate balance between good and evil."
"We had already seen and experienced the beauty and ugliness of mortals on Earth," Mizuki scoffed, her eyes rolling with disdain. "We've witnessed their selfishness, their greed, and their capacity for destruction. It's hard to believe there's any redeeming quality left to discover." Miyabi crossed her arms, unconvinced that the tattoo held any deeper meaning.
"If you can't believe me, then perhaps you could just treat your time here in the world I created as an opportunity to seek out the hidden glimmers of goodness amidst the darkness," Librarian suggested, her voice calm and gentle. "Sometimes, it is in the most unexpected places that we find the light that can guide us towards a better understanding of humanity." Mizuki and Miyabi exchanged skeptical glances, unsure if embarking on this journey would truly lead them to any profound revelations.
But if their time on Earth taught them something, it was that the entertainment produced by humans more often than not was amusing enough to permit them to temporarily set aside their doubts and give it a try. And in the light novels, manga, and anime they enjoyed back then, the stories where the protagonist journeyed into a different world always seemed to hold a certain allure.
"Fine. We'll give it a shot," Miyabi said, with a hint of excitement in her voice. "Who knows, maybe there's strong enough opponents waiting for us in this new world," she added, a glimmer of anticipation shining in her eyes. Mizuki stood up from her perch in Miyabi's lap so that her twin sister could stand.
"Ah, before I forgot." Librarian said. She waved her hand, and a dimensional pocket appeared in front of her. "Here." Tossing black orbs into the air, she continued, "These are purified darkness that is safe enough for Mizuki to consume. I recommend that you collect any darkness you would like to consume and purify them with Aether before ingesting them. It will ensure that the darkness is safe and won't have any negative effects on your body or mind." Miyabi nodded gratefully, reaching out to catch one of the black orbs in her hand.
"Thank you, Big Sis Librarian," she said sincerely. Miyabi scratched her head since she forgot about the issue of their inability to use their skills. "We have to go; there are people waiting for our return."
Librarian smiled warmly at Miyabi and Mizuki. "You're welcome, Miyabi and Mizuki. And enjoy the world of Arentha that I am the administrator of." With a wave of her hand , the Librarian opened a portal that led Miyabi and Mizuki back to Arentha. Henrietta, her servant, followed closely behind them. As they stepped through the portal, the twin's eyes were blinded by the light, and they felt a sense of weightlessness as they were transported back to Arentha.
