I managed to safely arrive at Yu'uia, but unintentionally, i brought along the strange insect that called itself an Asrai.
According to some research my allies did under my orders, Asrais are water spirits—they're pretty much just fairies that live in water.
The particular Asrai I brought with me was then taken away as a test subject because the other high ranking officers thought I was keeping it as a pet. They didn't listen to me when I tried to take it back, putting aside my reasons as childish behaviour.
I don't know what happened to it after that but I doubt I'm gonna need it later in my life so bye-bye water spirit!
...And so with the significantly huge loss of supplies, the Toqians were relentlessly massacred by the Straukans. Enemy forces were pushed back to their capital and now we're at a stalemate as another nation joins in, siding with the Toqians.
Since my arrival here, allied military performance has improved by a lot, coupled with my recent achievement of destroying that really underguarded military supply production area, I was given a cool badge that supposedly only 16 people in the entire history of this nation has received.
With such high expectations, you'd think I'd instantly get sent back into war for another super secret special mission, but no. My seniors told me to go rest for the week as a reward for helping out the entire nation despite the burdens and problems they stacked on me.
To be honest, it wasn't much work for me, but I'll take this vacation for granted!
...Wanting to rest for a bit, I went back to the barracks and encountered Eiwel sitting on my bed.
"Hey! What're you doing here, prick?!" I exclaimed.
"Staff Sergeant Meyraqyrofy, aren't you speaking a bit too rude, especially when you're in such a serious business?" He sighs. The man then takes off his gloves and puts his cap on the bedside table.
"We've been looking for a person like you since the very first war, and now that the primary source of solace has been brought upon us, we tire ourselves in trying to perfectionate everything—mainly due to our lack of faith of ever finding such blessing."
It's understandable. If a 1 in a million—or trillion chance for this matter—appeared before me, just like what I've been waiting for my entire life, I'd freak out and scramble all over the floor trying to create the perfect plan like I was never even planning for when this actually happens in the first place.
"Heh. Aren't I so great? I guess I could even be called the literal incarnation of perfection itself!" I proclaimed.
With my golden yellow hair, my big bright crimson red eyes, and my exceptionally smooth skin, I might as well be the embodiment of perfection! But little do they know, I'm actually just some old British dude..! Hehehe... May this information never be revealed to them..!
"I was right in convincing you to remain with the military. You know... You could've just joined another nation, or actually, you could've became a handful of trouble for us, but you didn't. Either you're just unaware, or you actually preferred to be part of us Straukans and fight for this nation..." He laughs.

Eiwel stood up, walked behind me, and then gave me a clock. "Nonetheless, I'm still grateful for you. We all are. Thank you for your hard work, Sergeant Meyraqyrofy. And enjoy your vacation."
"And thank you too. Though, I feel like something else is going on behind the scenes... You won't stab me in the back and burn me at the stake after I've done my part, won't you?"
"Be not afraid, Sergeant... We're all your allies. Not a single soul will lay a finger on you as long as you remain by our side." He slowly flattens my long white ears by patting my head before leaving shortly after.
I saw that he forgot to take his gloves and cap with him. But before giving them back, I noticed something inside one of his gloves.
I checked, and found a letter and a key! How mysterious..!
The letter says: "Dear, Staff Sergeant Meyraqyrofy, this is Lieutenant Eiwel Sten. I've written this as I cannot speak to you verbally at the moment. Cwkviw Arqw Nevrssan Apolys III is listening to everything that makes a sound in Yu'uia now. Your new mission is to assassinate him after your vacation. Just be aware to never speak of your current mission and go on about your day like you don't have anything to do with the military anymore."
As expected... He didn't come here just to thank me... That sly little bastard..! Oh, and his gloves smell horrible. I'll go wash my hands, and his gloves, for the sake of cleanliness later.
For the time being, I'll go do what he told me to do... But what's with this key, though? There's a tag that says "Winterfall Orphanage", so I assume it's the key for the orphanage that I came from. Is he telling me to go back to those people? Renny was the main cause for all of this in the first place, I don't know if I should thank him or not.
...Using one of the vehicles from the military, I drove myself back to the orphanage where I was in just a few months ago.
Everyone was happy and excited to see me, like I was some kind of hero. Renny was there as well, with a face that's more surprised than the others.
"My god..! Meyraqyrofy, you're back!!" He shouts. "I've been worried sick thinking that you broke your bones from bombing those Toqians, but seems like you're feeling better than ever!"
His voice is annoying..! But I shouldn't abuse my power as an officer now.
Most of them jumped at me while yelling, whilst some watched from a distance, clapping their hands.
Among them was a dark-haired girl named Risa. She was the daughter of one of the higher ranking officers in the military, so I figured I'd go and befriend her for a better chance of rising up in the ranks, or so that's what I told myself.
"Hmmm... You're Risa Oxes, right? The daughter of Tereq Oxes?" I asked.
"Hm? Huh?! Me?! Oh, Mey- Meyer- I mean, Meyraqorufy- I mean, Meyraqy- Meyra-"
"It's Meyraqyrofy. It's not that hard to say, you know?"
It's really not that hard to say... It's pronounced simply as "ˈmeɪ-ra-ˈkaɪ.rəʊ-fi" or "may-ra-kay-ro-fi" in English! I'm not sure who originally named me, but if I could, I'd change my name into something more basic, like "Alice" or something..!
"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..! Right, I'm Tereq Oxes' daughter, so what might you need from me?" She whispers.
"Hmmm... Nothing... I just wanted to thank all of you guys for helping me out here, y'know? It was real nice here! And you, Risa, give my thanks to your father for giving me this... Uhh... Cool badge!"
If I remember correctly, Tereq Oxes was one of the people who awarded me this badge.
"Ah, right! Alright, I will do so, Sergeant Mey..."
"Meyraqyrofy!"
...I then spent half of the week in the orphanage, talking with others and catching up with everyone else.
There was this strange feeling that I was being stalked by something in the far distance whilst I went on about my day. It was thanks to my instincts that I could sense it—but it also awakened something within me, which I assume is my defensive systems reacting to the target Eiwel ordered me to assassinate after this vacation.
I don't really know what it is, but it must be some kind of magic from the Toqians and their new allies. Noone can tell me much about it either because it can allegedly hear everything in Yu'uia.
Well. I'll just have wait for further details once I need to do my job. It's annoying, but I gotta get back home to earth somehow.
