Adam’s P.O.V

What’s with this guy, I only gave it to him cause it doesn’t fit my build anyway, I should probably

stick to twin daggers or something. “Keep it then, I don’t need it anymore", I say, surprisingly enough

though he stuck with ne even after I left, he followed me to the lunch room where I grabbed a bite

to eat, not letting g him see my face of course, he followed me to a forge where he waited for me to

customise one of the daggers to my taste before enhancing it appropriately, then he followed me to

the very plain field I saved him from... though his tailing abilities are good in the general sense they

are subpar at best to me, not with that much intent leaking from him anyway.

“You can come out now squad leader, what do you want??”, I asked after realising it was probably

one of the mages from the party earlier, after all copying people’s aura is a common trick for an

experienced enough mage and I remember that aqua captain had a certain uniqueness to his aura

back then. He seems to be on the brink of breaking through to the entry level of the intermediate

stage.

“while I will admit your senses are sharp brat, you don’t have the means to make me reveal myself,

only an idiot would expose their location after all”, I heard the same annoying voice from earlier call

out, I simply channelled my mana into the ground to disrupt and magic circles he may have active

but nothing seemed to be working. I wonder, could this insect actually know to channel magic

naturally?? “I take it you pride yourself on your skills as a noble then", I say to gauge his reaction,

though if he’s worth anything I won’t get a solid answer.

“Such details are meaningless to a dead man", he said as a spike of earth came flying at me, I side

stepped the attack and unsheathed my dagger, I didn’t expect that I would actually find a sound

mage this early on... Maybe this world isn’t as trash as I thought, though it’s poorly done he has

reached the stage where he can distort sound wave and change the area they came from, meaning

normal people can only hear what he wants them too, and he doesn’t need to actually speak to

make sounds, he can just project sound waves for what he needs to say to my ears while keeping his

distance.

Wait, that doesn’t make any sense though, it would be one thing if he was an intermediate mage but

that entire squad was filled with basic mages, all of which had one affinity, if that is the case that

means they have a Metal, mage and an earth mage in their group; Yeah, that’s the only way they can

do something like this. If I am fighting multiple mages though, I don’t necessarily have to hold back

anymore.

I spread my awareness out thinly and find the auras if all five members of the party residing roughly

3 kilometres South of the city, which is over 8 kilometres from where I am now... I doubt a single

dagger will do for a fight like this though, should I have just stuck with the sword??... Nah, since the

Knight captain had the common decency to look after me I owed him at least that.

I enhance myself with both Mythril and True mana and utilise Vanta Lord’s dance at three times it’s

normal speed as I Approached the group, If I want to beat these guys, i need to get serious, after all they aren’t like that Alpha, they are meagrely mortal mages with above average talents... Nothing

out of my capabilities.

Surprisingly despite being less than a kilometre away from the group They haven’t said anything,

though I can feel the earth mage trying to read the vibrations of the earth to pin point my location. I

spread my awareness once more and notice one of the more powerful auras of the group had

moved and had a formation activity away from them, my guess is, that’s probably their main damage

dealer or the captain . If the captain is a sound mage and has an earth and metal mage for defence,

it would be safe to assume they are protecting the healer and that guy trying to flank me is intact the

strongest member of this mage squad in terms of fore power.

I closed into a hundred metres of their aura and see a giant Pyramid reaching over 30 feet into the

air and the four members standing at the top of it. I increase my physical enhancement and triple my

sprint speed without forgetting to coat my dagger with a layer of ice on the blade. I lower my stance

and hold the dagger in a reverse grip Infront of my chest, from there I could see multiple metal and

stone Pikes Raining down on my from the top of the Pyramid, about 15 of each one. I leap up at

them and spring off of them with ‘Vanta Lord’s steps' and lunged myself to the top of the Pyramid.

As I land i feel something graze my cheek and the wound implode ever so slightly causing my to

bleed. Sound Bullet huh?? Thus is going to get annoying if he isn’t their strongest member. With that

in Mind I use ‘Vanishing steps’ to behead the brown haired healer that stood to the right of the

captain and Channelled true mana to slash down on the pyramid causing it to break inward causing

all of us to fall.

I then utilise ‘Vanta Lord’s steps' to bounce off of the falling debris and behead the other two mages

leaving me with only the captain left. As I rush at him I heard a loud boom and was blasted out of the

pyramid walls and crashed into the ground with enough force to destroy my true mana barrier and

still destroy a good number of my insides. “This is why I hate sounds mages", I groan as I recovered

from the shock of Sound break that he implode Infront of me. Multiple sound bullets tears through

my flesh and implode breaking my already weakened ribs and making me bleeding both internally

and externally.

Looks like I don’t have the right to be picky about this shit anymore... let’s hope whatever my soul

element gives me is worthwhile... it is meant to be a trump card after all... though I doubt I will gain

much other than the healing factor from it. I stop myself from falling on my face and regained my

balance, with steady breathing I built a 20 metre thick barrier of dry ice around me, I sit cross-legged

within the barrier and begin to meditate, It seems I made my first mistake since I got back, I

underestimated the potential of a rare element and it’s comeback to bite me.

Reader’s P.O.V

Ten Minutes passed since Adam froze himself and the Mage captain stood outside the barrier with a

red haired female, wielding the sword Adam gave the Knight squad Captain, however she was

missing her left arm and had a fresh piece of cloth wrapping her right eye up. “What do you mean he

was too formidable to face?? He can hardly channel mana to enhance his strike much less fell a

magic Knight as powerful as you Lucia", the squad captain demanded in fury.

“It is as I have said... This sword has Anti-magic properties, unless you want me to piss of the Empire

I didn’t plan on killing him so I didn’t bother with magic... that man’s skills with a sword far surpass

even yours captain “ Lucia said with a pondering look. Both Mages noticed as the Ice barrier suddenly exploded and a tornado of ice surrounded a figure that stood within it glaring at them with

neon red eyes, it stood there and exuded incomprehensible levels of bloodlust.

“W-what the hell is that??”, Lucia asked in a trembling voice as a pair of Crimson red eyes came into

view from within the thick hail of the ice tornado, a creature began to slowly stride out of the chaos.

It stood at 6 foot 0, it had a muscular build but it’s legs resembled that of a wolf, it had long white-

sliver hair and thick eye brows along with hair fur growing on it’s arms, legs, chest and back, it also

had a man-like structure. It bore it’s 3 inch long claws and 2 inch long fangs for the Mage duo to see,

this was none other than Adam.
