One day, a magical girl visited their pâtisserie. A girl with an actual magical girl-like outfit. Chocola was excited; she had never seen one before. Her tail perked up, and her ears went up. Chocola had more than one question for her, but Vanilla grabbed her hand and dragged her away.
"You need to be careful around magical girls. She might look innocent, but her true role is to judge you. That's how the last Chocola lost her role. Be careful, nyaa~" Vanilla warned her. Chocola nodded, and her mood immediately changed.
She was nervous. But she could not leave the guest unattended either. That would break the character. She rushed to the table and politely bowed to the magical guest.
"Welcome to our…" In her nervous state, Chocola forgot her usual line. "Nyaa~" she added, trying to recover. Her cheeks were blushing red.
"Wow, Chocola, you really look much better than the last time. Much cuter." The magical girl smiled—not a sign of sarcasm in her voice. The girl placed Chocola slightly more at ease. "I want the usual: a cup of green tea and a lemon tart."
"One green tea and a lemon tart, coming right up, nyaa~" She politely acknowledged the request and gracefully trotted behind the counter. It was a tense situation.
A few minutes later, Chocola returned to the guest with her request. She gracefully poured the tea and placed the tart beside the tea cup. She was not as nervous as she was a minute ago, but her cheeks were still plenty red.
"Thanks~" The magical girl thanked her. Chocola was about to move away, but the girl stopped her. "Wait, Chocola, give me your head."

Chocola did not really understand, but did as told. She closed her eyes and prepared for the worst, but instead received a very gentle and immensely pleasant head pat. Chocola let out the cutest "meow" she ever did, and all her worries began to evaporate.
"Did you enjoy my service, nyaa?" She politely asked.
"Absolutely, you were really adorable~" The magical girl tilted her head and kindly smiled. The girl then reached towards Chocola's ears and gave her another gentle head pat.
"Ah, worry not, Chocola; you play your role perfectly well, and I am just here for my cup of tea too." The magical girl added, further calming her down. "I heard Vanilla became much more girly too; I bet this was your contribution."
Chocola did not know what to answer. She cutely winked with her right eye. Not only was she happy to receive this praise, but she was also proud that she helped Vanilla. And this pride made her somewhat playful.
"Wait, freeze! This wink of yours, it's peak cute." The magical girl blushed.
"Which wink, nyaa?" Chocola innocently asked, switching the wink from one side of her face to the other. Then, a second later, she opened both of her eyes.
"This one. No, not this one, the other one! Noo!" She was getting flustered.
"No idea what you're talking about, nyaa~" Chocola quickly caught on to the situation and was now playing the girl.
"Wink again, and I will leave a big tip." The magical girl demanded.
"Nyo~" As a character, Chocola was not that interested in money.
"A plenty of headpats?"
Chocola shook her head. The head pats were nice, but that was not what she wanted. And she felt she was the only supplier of cute winks around here.
"Ok, fine, you win. You play your role really well, so I will answer any questions you have. However, I cannot do this here or now. This place opens at eleven, right?" The guest finally cracked.
Chocola nodded.
"I will come at ten, pick you up, and let's go somewhere private. And you better learn how to wink on demand until then."
"Of course, nyaa!" Chocola was exstatic. The chance to learn about magic presented itself, and she did not miss it. She felt happy; she felt like she just won the competition.
The magical girl left, and the evening continued normally. Chocola, however, was extra happy and extra playful for the rest of the day.
