Chocola yawned and welcomed the sunlight in her room. Back in the kitchen, she received a note with a list of groceries to pick up. Vanilla offered to join—just to make sure Chocola stays true to her character. After Chocola taught Vanilla how to properly tie a bow, they both went to the market.
It was amazing and exciting. The market guy patted their heads and even called them both "cute kitties"; it felt rather pleasant and heartwarming. Chocola tried to look around at other people, but it was still early morning, and there weren't many people here.
Once done, they returned to their bakery and began their daily routine. Cooking, cleaning, and occasional goofing with her sister. Hugs, headpats—that kind of thing. There were other characters besides them two: other catgirls, the master, and his sister too. The interactions were pleasant and fun, but not particularly note-worthy.
The day passed peacefully, and the next one too. Mary felt comfortable in Chocola's role. She was very cheerful, agile, and plenty cute.
Mary noticed she got excited doing things Chocola would get excited about. It was not just Chocola's intuition that she inherited, but also her emotions and certain character quirks. It was not overwhelming, but more like a gentle, occasional push in the right direction. If something made Chocola happy or cheerful, Mary could either ignore it or accept it. Mary had agency, but she usually chose the latter; it was fun to be a cheerful kitty and not her old grumpy self.
This 'guidance' magic made the role easier to play, but it did not make it trivial. This magic did not say "What would Chocola do?" in any situation either, nor did it carry any information about the routines; that was all up to Mary to decide. If Mary had a strong emotion of her own, it would completely overpower this magic. Mary hated washing dishes, and this magic would not make her feel otherwise. Thankfully, Chocola had a lovely sibling to pass this task onto.

Vanilla had her own quirks. She was trying her best, but she needed guidance, and Chocola was more than happy to teach her things. How to put on make-up and how to tie a proper bow—those kinds of things. Vanilla was more than willing to wash the dishes in exchange for this rather girly knowledge.
But there was a small problem. Deep down, Mary was not Chocola. Their characters had a bunch in common, so it was fun and easy to roleplay Chocola, but there were differences too. Mary had a burning lust for knowledge. Both Chocola and Mary were really curious about the surrounding world, but unlike Chocola, Mary could not drop it. It was too important for her; she simply had to know. If there was magic, and there was, she had to learn it. She just had to explore.
Unfortunately, getting kicked out of this world would not make it easier to learn about it. The mere thought of going back to the old world without first exploring this one sent shivers through Chocola’s body. For now, Mary has promised herself to do her best to stay in character. Not a single meow about her true lust either.
As a catgirl, she quickly learned about her surroundings. The house had several books she could read. Sometimes she would talk to guess who came to the pâtisserie. Sometimes she would go shopping and make friends with the locals. It was fun to exchange little rumors, all while acting cute and in character too. The fear of getting kicked out of this world was great, so she carefully played her role. To be fair, it was not that hard, and the occasional head pats were so heavenly pleasant too.
An entire week passed, and Chocola read enough books to know things about this world. She realized this world was much bigger than just a single series. She learned there were fairies, witches, and even dragons. It was not a simple amalgamation of TV series, but an entirely new world. New planet entirely. There were places and events that mimicked art from Earth, such as the house Chocola lived in, but those were incredibly rare. For the most part, this world stood on its own.
The more excited she was about the world, the more limited she felt as Chocola. She wished for more free time. Her sister helped, of course, but she made sure Chocolate did her share of chores too. Chocola did not hate her position; she was rather thankful for it. Roleplaying as Chocola gave her an opportunity to explore this world. As stuck as she felt and as limited as it was, this was her only window into this magical world.
