Chapter 2: His New World

Chapter 2: His New World

He woke up in a cage surrounded by darkness. The cage seemed to slide around a bit in the darkness hitting the sides of whatever he was in... a truck maybe he didn't know. His heart pounded loudly in panic, as the cage continued to slide along inside the darkness in a more haphazardly way. Where was he going, he wondered this through his panicked mind, and why were they doing this to him? What did he do to deserve this!? was it because of what he did in his former life, the plan, his suicide? Why, it was his life and he should be able to do whatever the hell he wants with it! His panic turned into fury at the last thought but it quickly dissipated as the cage slid up against a wall and he ended up banging his head into the cage bars.

The cage withholding him stopped sliding. Did the, he assumed it was a truck, reach its destination? Light shot into the cage as a tarp covering the back of the mobile thing he had been riding (which was certainly not a truck by the looks of it) was removed by several humans. As the humans closed the distance between them and his cage he backed himself up as far as he could into a corner of the cage. The humans didn't speak to him as they went about there work, hauling him and his cage outside the mobile thing. They hauled the cage along with him inside, up a small hill, adjacent to the small hill was a a clear blue stream. After hauling him and the cage to the top of the small hill they then proceeded down the other side into forest that he thought had a that had dark and forbidding feel to it. When the humans felt they'd gone deep enough into the eerie forest they dropped the cage. That's right, dropped it and not gently either. It came down with a loud THUMP and startled snort from the one inside the cage.

After having dropped the the cage one of the humans took out a key from a bag that hung around their waist and unlocked the cage. Next, the humans, that hadn't taken out the key, grabbed few stones from the forest floor. The ground, having been being practically buried in leafs, the humans had to dig quite a bit to even find dirt let alone a rock or stone. Having no idea what the humans were up to the caged being didn't move.

However, that wasn't what the humans wanted it seemed as they yelled at the caged being, or him if you prefer, in a words he didn't understand because he was no longer human. The humans pointed deeper into the forest when they realized he didn't understand them. No, no, no, no, no, they couldn't actually want him leave the cage and stay here in this forest, could they!!? He may look like a monster (although he has no idea what he looks like 'cause he has never seen himself before) but he still has the mind of a human! They can't do this to him!! He'll never survive on his own!!!

Without waiting for him to move the humans began to throw the stones that they had worked so hard to find on the forest floor, at him. As one of the stones hit its' intended target, which was one of his back legs he let a loud pained neigh and kicked out instinctively the back of the cage with his hooves. The humans shouted more in their unascertainable language and continued to throw stones at him. As more and more of humans' stones began to hit their intended target, he did the only thing he could do... he dashed out of the unlocked cage door and into the stupid forest, that seemed to get darker with every step he took,  with tears in his eyes...again. He'd already cried like a baby twice, how humiliating, why did he have to be reincarnated anyway? Couldn't God just leave him alone, he didn't want to live as a human so what the hell made God think he'd want to live as a monster!? Fucking ridiculous!!!

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

The forest leafs silently dropped from the sturdy tree branches that had held them as he continued  running. He heard his hooves pounding the leaves into submission with a 'crunch, crunch'. He wondered if this world had such a thing as Winter, it was cold enough for it and the leafs were falling  off the trees leaving it almost bare, not to mention they made a crunching sound every time he stepped on one. Too tired to continue to run he skidded to a halt, throwing up tiny pebbles, twigs and lots of leafs, in his wake. He was left gasping for breath and as he breathed in and out clouds of ice could be seen forming in his breathe, now paying attention to his surroundings he could feel a chill in air all about him that hadn't been there before. His eyes ghosted over the frost covered ground where he stood, he noted the frost spread further up, traveling across the trunks of a group of trees in his view. Shit, it really is cold out here and the sun was still up! He thought to himself.

He heard a grunt from behind one of the frost covered trees, curious, he moved slowly towards the noise. As more and more frost covered trees came into view he noted how they seemed withered and old even though a few had only recently been planted. Weird, he thought. He stopped when he saw a white ass, not a human ass but a horses ass, standing behind one of the trees that was cloaked in frost the rest of its' body was obscured from his view by the large trunk of the tree.

"H-hello," he stuttered to the horses ass. He was assuming since he wasn't human that he could talk to other non-humans. The horses ass stiffened, its' tail flicked sideways like it would when dealing with an annoying fly. The ass then stepped out from behind the tree and he discovered It was not a horse...  but a Unicorn.

He stared at the golden horn on its' head then let his eyes roam over its' snow white fur. It was the most beautifully thing he'd ever seen. Its' blackened eyes landed on him and the air seemed to shift somehow, like it had gotten colder. Then it turned its' face so he could get a good look at the other half of its' face...and he stepped back inhaling sharply. What the hell!?

Half the Unicorn face was gorgeous, the prettiest thing he'd ever witnessed but the other half.. The other half of the Unicorns' face had been torn off revealing the bone and scar tissue, blood had long dried, in its' face. The Unicorns' eyeball dangled from its' eye socket just barley attached by a thin nerve, it bounced up and down with every movement from the Unicorn. The Unicorns' lips looked like it had been eaten right off, just devoured without a second thought to its' owner. The tongue fell through a hole the side of the Unicorns' mouth, even it had a chunk missing from it! What kind of fucked up world was this!? This was definitely NOT what he was used to seeing and it only reinforced the knowledge that this was going to be his new world whether he wanted or not... and it was a dangerous world.
