HEAVEN CONQUEROR - Chapter 4 - Incomplete War Formulae

“Today, you will start your training!” Hanzo was seated on the walls, looking down at the pit, and children gathered beneath it.

A middle aged man was standing in front of the 30 children. “My name is Han Xian, and I will be your trainer for the next five years. In this world, Qi is everything! If you can manipulate your Qi, you can do extraordinary things.” Han Xian did a demonstration, as he made a jump. This simple maneuver lead him 200 meters into the air, and on to the wall. “I simply gathered Qi in my leg muscles, which allowed me to do something that no ordinary human being would be able to.

Martial Arts cultivation is divided into 10 phases. 1. Foundation Establishing Stage, 2. Heaven Stage, 3. Earth Immortal Stage, 4. Sky Immortal Stage, 5. Mortal Emperor Stage. 6. Heaven Emperor Stage. 7. Void Emperor Stage. 8. Divine Emperor Stage. 9. God King Stage. 10. Emperor of Primordial Chaos.

BUT forget Earth Immortal Stage, it would be a miracle if you managed to reach Heaven Stage in a life time. If you have any thoughts of revenge, best give it up right now!”

Wang Jun and Yu Han looked at each other, and silently nodded. They will overcome this hurdle. No matter what.

“Alright, first is an aptitude test!” Han Xian said. “It is very simple. I will go around, and use just a bit of my Qi to arouse yours. Qi is differentiated by the colours, White, Green, Yellow, Red, Blue and Black. The color of your Qi determines your affinity, and its quality will determine your future accomplishments. White is generic, anyone with a white Qi color can train in any element- but by default, they cannot become very strong with this color. Green denotes Life Qi. This Qi excels at using life energy based techniques, healing and experts are even capable of regrowing severed limbs. Yellow signifies impure Qi. This type of Qi is most useful in cultivating Dark Arts. Red is the color of battle. Those who possess this Qi has great vitality and are able expert hand-to-hand combatants with solid bodies. Blue is the color of heavens, and experts with this Qi can manipulate the energy of heavens- and can grow to become extremely formidable experts. Black is the rarest of all Qi variations. It is of the primordial chaos, the very essence of existence. There had been an Emperor of Primordial Chaos in this world countless billions of years ago, and he was someone in possession of this Qi. No one else has surfaced who possesses this kind of Qi.”

After the explanation Han Xian went around and touched the first child on his head. A short while afterwards, a faint white aura flared around the boy. “Generic Qi, Weak Affinity.” One after the other, he went around until he reached Yu Han. He was shocked when a bright blue aura flashed around him, “This…Heaven Qi Affinity…and an Extremely Strong affinity at that!” This was so extraordinary it left Han Xian speechless.

On the wall, Hanzo had an extremely elated expression. Jerome the Bandit King has this kind of Qi. His affinity was not even close to being this pure. And yet, at the young age of 30, he was already at the Peak of Heaven rank. This boy would one day be able to topple that fellow. But Hanzo will keep this secret. He had to. In his mind, he’d already begun to formulate grand plans.

Finally, it was Wang Jun’s turn to be tested. Following routine, Han Xian placed his hand on the boy’s head. A short while later, an almost blinding white light surrounded Wang Jun. He was not THAT shocked, but still, this was also an extraordinary find. “Generic Qi, Pure Affinity.” A pure affinity, and a generic one at that, has limitless potential in whichever elements, be it magic, combat, archery or swordsmanship and be able to train to the very peak. The fact that the user is not limited means that in future, he has the potential to be a monster who can conquer all lands.

“Good, good, two gems worth polishing!” Hanzo rubbed his hands in excitement.

“Alright, now that that’s out of the way…here comes the hard part. Today is day 1 of your training. What I will part with is called [Incomplete War Formulae].”  As he gestured with his hands, a couple of bandit guards with two-paged documents went around and distributed the papers to the kids. “Circulate your Qi, the first stage of Foundation Establishment Stage is to have your Qi form a Palace within your dantian.” With a wave of his hand, Qi flowed out of his nostrils, and a miniature palace the size of a hand appeared in front of Han Xian, revolving non-stop, “This is called a fate palace. This is essential for any cultivator. The more fate palace you manage to form in the Foundation Establishment stage, the better your chances of reaching the peak.”

Han Xian showed the method. He sat cross-legged on the floor, “Envision a Palace, with 4 Pillars; Pillars of Life, Death, Longevity and Freedom. Before a fate palace is established, Qi has to be rotated manually through your meridians. However once a fate palace is formed, this process goes directly through your fate palace where it will then circulate on its own.

“Close your eyes. Let your consciousness journey into your dantian. A tiny drop of Qi should be located at the very center of your Dantian. You will not be able to form a fate palace in day 1. But as long as you try, your body will absorb natural energy, thus, for most of you- within 3 months, you will have achieved the forming of a fate palace. For the both of you-“ Han Xian looked at Wang Jun and Yu Han, “I estimate 2-4 weeks before you are able to form a palace of your own.”

Wang Jun followed instructions. But he was simply shocked. His dantian was not at all as Han Xian had described. It was pure white, with an intense amount of pure white Qi everywhere as far as he could see, and this looked like an infinite space that he was in. What was going on? An object was floating right at the center of all the white Qi. It looked like a necklace. Wang Jun wanted to fly towards it, but he was unable to. So he gave up that thought, and then slowly proceeded to try and create a fate palace.

With a resounding explosion, white matter condensed into a single point, and there now stood a palace, a dark blue color and constantly revolving. Didn’t Han Xian say it would take him a month to accomplish this task? But this was his first time practicing this cultivation technique! Wang Jun was speechless. He felt this mysterious occurrence to be related to that pendent floating off in the distance. But what was it doing in his dantian, and how did it get there?

Was it the meteor? The thing Jerome the Bandit was after? If this was it, he absolutely cannot tell anyone about it. Wang Jun decided that it was best if he did not tell anyone regarding this breakthrough. It would simply be very hard to explain. And, didn’t Han Xian say the more palaces, the better? Wang Jun decided, he would create as many Fate palaces as he could.

Over the course of the following month, Wang Jun had indeed been able to create more than 100 Fate Palaces within his dantian. And the amount of Qi he possessed within his dantian didn’t seem to be affected by it at all!

Yu Han was finally able to create a Fate Palace in one month’s time. His was at least 5 times bigger than one of Wang Jun’s. Wang Jun only showed a single Fate Palace to Han Xian.
