"I should have given up that trash class right away." Gene kicked the pebble on the floor as she walked out from the teleportation array where she respawned. As she looked through the details of her new class, she received another notification.
You have been expelled from HandleBar.

'At least the others weren't affected.' Gene let it be and browsed through her profile. 'Ah, this is stupid.'

'At least my level didn't go down.' Gene was at level 14 when she attacked the two bosses. Her experience was reduced as part of the penalty. And then she became even more frustrated seeing the unorthodox stat point distribution. 'I'm screwed.' Her points looked like that of a tank that went full vitality and forgot that he still needed some strength to hold the aggro. She was mad but not enough to restart the character. She still decided to give it a try.
'Purely for research purposes...of course.'
She had heard about the path of the fearful but never found an actual player on the path. This had intrigued Gene's interest.

'Oh, it went from bad to worse. At least with the Pacifist, I had the Exp multiplier.' She saw the little gold that accumulated in her account. 'Was it worth it?'
There were two paths in front of her. Take the cards drawn and carry on forward or quit this hand and start again fresh. She felt that the class trainers at Olahal were angels in disguise but considering the fallout, she decided to move forward rather than quitting.
Once a player quit the path he received, it was hard to receive a quality path again. Not impossible but extremely hard and very limited. Compared to that, even if it was a shitty deal, playing further ahead meant a higher opportunity.
As Gene was about to leave the game to figure out how to proceed, she received a new quest.
Class Quest {DIVINE}
Dragon God's Contempt
The Dragon God looks down on you. The God of Piety wants to give you a chance. Prove your worth to the gods.
Condition: Defeat Lugar the Wrathful within 28 days.
Reward: Class change.
'Lugar?' Everyone in the game knew who Lugar was. It blocked the path to Bellorock Continent, the first expansion to the game. A level 80 monster that was the most hated amongst the frontrunners as it could only be killed in a solo confrontation.
Lugar the wrathful had a beautiful back story. It was the son of two demon gods who fell in love with an angel only to get snubbed by one of the heavenly gods. As a result, Lugar took a pledge to hinder any works of gods but of course, no one cared. But the boss was strong and the supposed new release became a dream that could only be reached after a player finally reached level 100 and completed another advancement. Now the difficulty was lowered for the other players but it remains one I the most hated monsters in the game to date.
Since the quest had such a high quality, Gene was certain she wouldn't be facing the watered-down version but a much stronger one than the initial Lugar.
'God of Piety and a divine quest?' Gene was concerned. It was almost as if they were expecting her to fail. Amongst the player's piety had a different name. Weasel. And rightfully so, this god never issues a direct quest but always interferes in the middle of something else.
Looking back at her current class, she knew she would have to be at least level 120 to beat Lugar. She knew it. The game knew it. And definitely, Piety knew it. Reaching level 120 in a month? That wouldn't be a dream had she had her previous class, but with her current class, it most definitely felt like a dream.
So far in the ten years of Chaos Realms operation, only two players were able to complete a divine quest. That was from the almost millions that were issued to the general public. What Gene had to do now was easy. Research and find the best quests to level up. Unlike before she now had access to the killing quests even though the experience gained was lower. From level 14 to 120 in 28 days. It should be possible. Else the system wouldn't set a time limit. The system knew how to get there. She just had to find that path.
As Gene was about to log out, the token she received from Jolene vibrated. Picking up, Jolene's voice was a little harsh.
"Why have you not brought back the token yet? You have to return the token immediately. Any misuse of the token will result in incarceration. Come back to the pub, NOW!"
The token became silent and a timer appeared on the token.
'I really hate that bitch.' Cursing Jolene inside, Gene walked towards the HandleBar. The guards threw a glaring look at Gene as she approached the front.
"What are you doing here?" The guard who usually accompanied her inside asked with an indifferent tone.
"Jolene asked me to come." Gene showed the token in her hand.
"You can leave it with me. I'll let her know." Gene's token was taken away from her hand forcefully and the guard shoos her away as if she would repeal their customers.
'At least it didn't affect my relationship with others.' Gene calmly let out a sigh and quit the game to start her research again.
