Lord Deathless was fuming. He hated working with Elves, and for at least the tenth time he repeated, “Can we go any faster? Since he is outside of the city, it is obvious he is just hiding somewhere. I need to get him and get back to the City quickly. It's been hours since we left the City, and it's already getting dark!”

The Elf just continued forward, ignoring him.

Lord Deathless lost his patience and ran forward around the bend in the river, where the hills gave way to an open valley of tall grass with mountains on the side, with the river running down the middle of it.

“There he is!” roared Lord Deathless. As he was able to see Bob even in the darkening light of the end of the day. He then mumbled to himself, "Who the hell is that man and woman with him? I didn't think anyone on this Deck was capable of healing Bob."

The Elf appeared at his side at that moment and said, “I have found the target. Acknowledge I have fulfilled the contract.”

Lord Deathless cursed at himself for admitting he saw Bob, and grudgingly mumbled, “I acknowledge you have fulfilled the contract.”

The Elf disappeared from his sight without further comment.

“Damn worthless Elves!” Lord Deathless grumbled as he started running towards Bob and the two strangers with him. “They are going to learn what I do to people who interfere with the Acid Guild!” He grinned with a sick lust as thoughts of torturing them ran through his mind, then frowned as he thought, "Dammit! I'll have to be quick about it though. The others will be waiting on me to get back with Bob."
