Jen’s shoulder’s slumped with weariness, but her eyes were bright with accomplishment as she walked out of her study room. Tamako was preparing Jen lunch and turned towards her in surprise when she came out of her room. She could sense Jen was excited, and asked, “Did you finish your app?”
“Yes! and you’re going to love it!”
Tamako rushed up to the taller women, picked her up in a bear hug, well… more of a belly hug, and swung her around in celebration, and with a smile on her face said, “I’m so proud of you! But out with it! What does this app do! I’m tired of your ‘It’s going to be a surprise’ bull crap!”
“Where’s Sam? I want to tell him too!”
“He’s on a tour of the Gnome District, but you’re going to tell me now! I’m not going to wait until he gets back to find out what you’ve been working on all this time. When he gets back, we’ll also need to take care of a minor problem though.”

“What problem?”
“Nope! I shouldn’t have said anything. I’ll tell you about that later. Explain your app!”
“It’s going to be easier to show it to you as I explain it. I’ve programmed two additional on-board modules. One for you, and one for Sam. It won’t take me long to embed it into your neural and mana systems.”
Tamako grunted in frustration, and replied, “Blah, blah, blah! What does that mean? Just tell me what it is!
Jen rolled her eyes and said, “I’m trying to tell you. Just come with me into my study and I will explain as we go. Seriously, you won’t understand any of it until the app gets loaded into your onboard and you activate it.”
As Jen directed Tamako to lie down on the bed, she pulled a chair up near Tamako’s head where she could place her fingertips on Tamako’s face. Jen smiled to herself as she thought of Star Trek and Spock’s Vulcan mind meld, and said, “The module I’m going to install into your mental onboard and tie into your neural and mana systems is a type of artificial intelligence.”
