After we were done laughing I passed a milk fruit to Athena “Here I got these while harvesting milk fruits from the cacti you pointed me towards” Athena caught the fruit and took a bite from fruit only for a majority of the milk to spill out onto her black sports bra causing her to swear. I maniacally laugh at her inferiority as a live specimen and demonstrate how one should go at it when consuming a calcium-based beverage/fruit.
I bite a bit from the top of the milk fruit then I quickly shotgun the fruit, as if I was shotgunning a can of bear because that's what they did in the novel. After I shotgunned my calcium fruit I give a satisfied "ahh" sound, wipe my milk mustache, and give off a snarky grin just to piss off Athena. “Gael why didn’t you tell me it was going to do that” obviously upset that I was just a superior milk drinker. “You didn’t ask” I shrug “If I had a Croc I'd throw that shit at you at Mach 5; Mexican mom style. Maria told me horror stories of how it was done in the past.” Athena threatens with her lack of Crocs-less feet.
Poor girl she only has Adidas as an attack weapon. I internally wipe an imaginary tear. “That's rough buddy” I fake sincerity “Dude why didn’t you tell me we were eating cum water balloons,” Athena makes a bad attempt at humor which causes me to stop drinking the milk fruits and look at her with disgust. She acknowledges her outrightly disgusting statement by simply saying "My bad" However, although I can’t agree with the semen part of Athena’s description of the milk fruit they were actually a lot like water balloons and a lot different from how I expected them to feel.
When they were previously undamaged the fruit had a thick rubbery skin as if it was a real persimmon fruit but the moment you bite or cut the skin it thins out and gets flimsy like actual balloon rubber.
As we were drinking the milk fruits I brought attention to our main objective “So, Athena when you were on top of the mountain did you notice the crater?” I ask “Oh yeah, I found the crater you were looking for earlier it was that way” She points in a random direction in the cave expecting me to know what that means. Athena notices my confusion and goes outside the cave which only makes me more confused “It should be dark by now so we should be able to find the north star” As we head outside the stars within the stars become more visible the first thing we noticed is that not all the stars were the same color; the sky had a multitude of colors within it from the warmest of reds to the coolest of purples. The sky was colorful, but a majority of the stars had the same color as the stars we had back home. However, the stars weren’t the only colorful thing in the sky, in the sky, there were three differently-sized moons one red, one yellow, and one green. The yellow moon was the largest followed by the green and red moon.
After taking in the enchanting otherworldly sight Athena began looking for the north star. After a few minutes, Athena was still looking for the north star she eventually said “Well fuck guess that's it we don’t have a compass” Athena scoffs and kicks the dirt in frustration “What do you mean?” I ask “the fucking north star is not there. It doesn’t exist in this universe” Athena angrily waves her hand in the direction of the sky “I mean how do you know for sure? Maybe you just lost track of it” I suggest with optimism “Gael none of the constellations of our world are in the sky well none that I know of anyways, and I know quite a few”
“Shit not even Aquarius?” I ask “No Aquarius, no Leo, no Aries, no Taurus major, no little Dipper, no nothing” Athena grits her fists “Ah well, whatever I know the general direction should we go there now before the sun gets up” Athena scruffs her hair “Absolutely not” I respond firmly “There are always more dangerous monsters out at night like we might come across that worm dragon thing from earlier if we roam right now” I explain further causing Athena to shudder “let's just sleep for now and then we’ll walk there later” I suggest “ok” Athena nods in agreement and walks back into the cave kicking the dirt in frustration.

I followed behind and luckily Athena and I had our sweatshirts when we went to Catie and Liam’s house so we were able to use those as blankets. I go to lie down on the floor and I close my eyes I quickly drift in and out of consciousness reminding me of how tired I was and my mind goes blank and I drift off into the abyss called sleep.
A few hours later I am rudely awakened still groggy “Buke uppe ta bakad!” I hear Athena yell at me with a strangely husky masculine voice “Give me a few minutes, who cares if I miss a few days of school” I respond half asleep, and turn over only to get kicked in the stomach which jolts me awake “Don’t you dare hurt him!” Athena scowls with her hands up. I notice that our mancave had been invaded by a dozen or so orange-furred… people? With white symbols painted on top of their fur.
They were holding up spears and didn’t look as friendly as I was hoping- in fact, they seemed even angry at me which makes no sense since I'm so lovable. These were probably the same demons that had helped Ruthel in the story before this could go two ways Athena’s mountain climbing abilities might win them over and she gets accepted into the tribe, but I die, or we both die. Either way, it wasn’t looking too great for me. I raise my hands regardless as I don't want to get stabbed in my mancave.
“Woo dake ta, KORRA E CATOS!” the orange-furred person in front of me yells I panic a little as I don’t know what he is saying and an angry person is pointing a spear at me. My mind starts racing; going into a fight or flight mode. The world once again seems to slow.
Should I attack? No there’s no chance that I would do any real damage, they seem rather athletic and they have weapons, attacking might just put myself and Athena in danger. should I run? No, there’s nowhere I can run, even if I try to run they would easily be able to traverse the desert and kill me.
My fate lies on their whims the only thing I can do right now is to calm them down. Frustrated and scared at how I had no influence in controlling my own fate I try to defuse the situation “Woah woah calm down no need to what's got you so angry” I try to say in the calmest voice I can muster “Wa? ie ke human?” the orange furry in front of me asks the other furry next to him “E tak to, ke poke quon an cana English” the furry that asks the question lowers his spear and makes a drilling sound with his mouth in anger.
Ok, I don't know what the hell I did, but my talk no jutsu worked. Thank fucking god I think to myself being able to breathe after that encounter. Athena also seemed confused by the turn of events but didn’t mind the scenario of me not getting stabbed. Our rodeo with the furries didn’t end there, however, as the angry one well the one angrier than the others said “Donna ans oot” to his fellow furries in which one of the furries near the back of the cave walked up to me aggressively and hits me with the back of his spear making my vision to go black causing me to realize why everyone hates furries.
My consciousness once again falls into the abyss called sleep.
I later open my eyes to find myself looking up at a room covered with large leaves held up by bamboo. I slightly open my eyes and notice I’m on a rather comfy king-sized bed and look around I notice I'm in a large room that looks like it came out of a tropical island resort hut.
