“Okay… here’s the plan. I will conquer Logan Tech. I will train to get stronger,” Eli said confidently.
“That’s the most dogshit plan I’ve ever heard. You have no clue, do you?” Levi sighed as he ran his hand through his reddish hair.
“Here’s the plan. I will train you and Jules together. There’s no reason to conquer Logan Tech, and I heard that anyone from the Delinquent Council can not take over any schools unless they are cardinal leaders,” Levi sighed.
“You will make the Delinquent Council your enemy. Jules told me you would act as a spy, which is good, but you’re too weak. However, I have a question, Eli,” Levi leaned closer as he slung his arm around Eli’s neck.
“Can you use that?”
Eli’s eyes widened. He scratched the back of his head.
“Use what?” Eli raised his eyebrow.
“Ah, you’re using it subconsciously. You used it in our fight, and I could tell. It’s called Fixation. Not many people can replicate the form, so they use a drug to help them do it, and even if I can’t use it, I can teach you something else. Something I discovered in our fight.”
Oh… our fight, in which I was unconscious half the battle. It’s so weird… it’s like falling asleep…
“D-did I win? And what is it?”
“Can you teach me too, brother! I want to learn the technique!” Jules’ eyes widened as it glistened.
“Almost, you lost. I don’t know how to explain it or what it’s called. Jules, it’s a technique that’s not fit with your character,” Levi met Jules’ eyes.
“Aw, man!” Jules pouts as their shoulders slump.
[Next Day]
Jules and Eli are practicing on the rooftop. Their studio apartment was atop a rooftop. Beneath them was the local burger joint.
“Jules and Eli. Come at me all at once.”
Jules and Eli lunged at Levi. Levi subverts their attacks, knocking both of them to the ground.

“We have a long way to go.”
Eli grits his teeth as he rushes forward.
You used [Jab!]!
Levi’s palm wrapped around Eli’s fist, and he twisted his arm, bringing Eli to his knees. Levi’s eyes captured Jules’ legs swinging at him. His free hand wrapped around Jules’ foot.
“End of lesson. Eli, you practice punching. You’re a one-trick pony. Jules, you start working out to grow strength. You’re too weak.”
“Eli, you’re an abnormal case, and you know how to throw jabs, but you don’t know how to punch? You can not learn to jab without learning how to punch,” Levi rubbed his temples. “Learn the basics.”
[1 Month Later]
I got a job in the burger joint where Levi works.
Eli had dozens of unread texts from Charlotte.
Where the hell are you?! Why aren’t you going to school?! Answer me, asshole!
“When the hell are you going back to school?” Levi leaned on the doorframe. “And cut your hair too, and it’s overgrown.”
“Tomorrow. And Huh? Isn’t your hair also long?! And Jules, as well!”
“Okay, fair point. Keep it like you want.”
[Next Day]
“Isn’t that Eli? I’ve heard he went to Juvie because he fought 100 guys once.”
Eli walked through the halls with his head down. He looked up and saw a hand. He dodged out of the way.
“Charlotte?”
Charlotte’s eyes widened as she stumbled forward.
“Why’d you dodge?! And why didn’t you answer my texts!”
“Ah, sorry.”
“Sorry? I was just… worried,” Charlotte tucked her hair behind her ear.
Eli entered the classroom and dropped his backpack on the floor. Other students stared at him until the teacher came to the class, announcing a new student.
“Students, we have a transfer students. Please enter,” the teacher gestured for the student to enter.
Eli’s eyes widened at the person.
“Hey, guys! I’m Jules Lee, and I am glad to meet you!” Jules tilted their head and grinned.
“Good, Jules. Please take a seat. Anywhere you like.”
Jules’ eyes scanned the room until landing on Eli.
“Eli?! You’re here with me!” Jules ran to Eli and hugged him. Eli staggered backward as his cheeks blushed.
The other students’ eyes widened. Eli catches a glimpse of Charlotte’s eyes narrowing. Jules’ stopped hugging him and pushed the desk together.
“When did you transfer here?! And why didn’t you tell me!” Eli sat down, along with Jules.
“It was a surprise, hehe.” Jules’ lips curled into a smile.
“Wow… that girl is so cute!” The other guys whispered.
“I need to ask her for her hair routine…” the other girls whispered.
[Few Hours Later]
“What should we do later, Eli? Oh, we could play card games or board games,” Jules leaned forward as they walked together.
“Not today, I have a shift to do.”
They arrived at the studio apartment. They went up the stairs and opened the door. Eli changed out his uniform and put on his work uniform.
“Good evening, Mrs. Johnson!” Eli greets the owner.
“Hello, Eli!” The owner waved back with a smile.
They started working, attending to customers. A group of students entered the establishment, smoking.
“You can’t smoke here, dears,” Mrs. Johnson came up into them. The students were sitting down.
“Eh? What do you mean, ma’am? How about you order us a beer,” the student stood up and blew the smoke in her face.
“I can’t serve you beer. Please refrain from smoking, or else I’ll need to kick you out.”
“Your husband is a lucky man~” the student leaned closer. “Instead of beer, how much for this,” his hand shot out, but it was stopped.
The student’s eyes widened.
“Please leave,” Eli grips harder.
“Tch, what a shitty establishment. Let’s go, guys,” the student yanked his arm away and left.
“Thank you, Eli,” Mrs. Johnson sighed.
“No problem, Mrs. Johnson!”
[Few Hours Later]
Eli’s eyes fluttered open to the smell of smoke. He quickly stood up and woke Jules and Levi up.
“It smells like smoke!”
Levi and Jules sat up and rubbed their eyes. Their nose picks up the scent and quickly stand up. Eli rushes out the door and goes down the flight of stairs. His eyes widened at a group of people wearing hoodies throwing Molotovs at the building.
They saw Eli and dipped.
“Hey, bastards!” Eli was about to chase them but was stopped by Levi.
“Don’t go, Eli. That’s what they want. The best we can do is call the fire department.”
“Let go! Don’t you feel anything?! Mrs. Johnson gave you and us a job! This is her business to support her kid!” Eli’s eyes widened as his eyebrows furrowed.
“I’m angry too, but the best we can do is to wait.”
