Something must have happened, I sat there still, on the floor. It was freezing cold. Snow was floating down from the sky. Everything I saw was white. White trees, white floor, white shoes.
I looked at my surroundings, there were statues of people made of ice. Next to me was a wagon, fallen on its side and covered with snow. The beasts that were pulling it, were lying still on the floor, dead. Something must have happened, I was sure of it, but I could not remember anything at all.
Judging by what I saw, I was probably involved in an accident. It wasn't hard at all to guess what had happened. I, who am I. Why am I here? I don't seem to remember anything about me, my life, or even my name. I won't be surviving anywhere like this, I sighed. If I was really involved in the accident, I should find some clues nearby. I immediately went inside the wagon.
There was a blank book and a bag filled with coins. The book was covered by hard leather. I opened it and a letter fell to the ground. On it was written,
" Happy birthday Selene, my darling. Though it breaks my heart to see you leaving so soon, I bid you farewell. Here is a book so you can jot down notes and some money for your journey.
Love,
Dad and Mom."
I looked around me, there was no one else. I looked back at the letter. My mind was blank. Was this letter intended for me? If that was true then I am called Selene. A gust of cold wind swept through, sending chills to my exposed neck. A tear fell onto the paper, then a dozen. I couldn't stop myself from crying. Emotions suddenly rushed into my mind, I don't why, but my body was reacting by itself. It was as if I had just experienced the dreadful experience of losing something precious. I laid down my knee, covering my face with my hands, and let the tears slowly flow out of me.

I fell asleep after crying for such a long time. As soon as I woke up, my stomach rumbled. I was hungry. I hadn't eaten since I was here. I looked for more useful items but there was only an empty bag. Therefore, I packed everything into it and headed out. And I was lost. The snow had gathered some height. It was difficult to walk. I didn't know where to go so I just chose a random direction.
After taking a few steps, I was near some ice statues. They looked real, down to the smallest details. They were each armed with a sword. And they all had a face filled with greed, just like a predator laying its eyes on an easy prey. Something was wrong with all those statues. Why would someone sculpt statues in the middle of nowhere? Maybe these things were not what I thought they were. A thought suddenly came, maybe they weren't statues to start with. I shook my head, there was no way that was true. But the more I think about it, it makes more sense. They were frozen living people.
Before I knew it, I spent quite some time staring at them. I should really get going. As I turned around, I heard a loud crack. And I knew instantly that I didn't like it. I turned around. The biggest statue had a crack on it, it started to move. The man trapped inside was now freed. The man was the size of a bull, with his muscular arms, I doubt it will take even one second to snap my neck. I tried to turn around and go away as quickly as possible, but the snow tripped my foot. I found myself on the ground looking at the man above me pulling out his sword.
Realising I wouldn't be able to do anything, I shut my eyes close and waited.
