Baseless RUMORS!

I closed this door too.

It was opened again as two individuals from our class forcibly grabbed me from both sides, a guy and a girl and dragged me inside.

All I could see were frighteningly excited faces all around me as they faced me. All I could hear were excited cheers and whistles as the center of attention of today in our class were Maki and I.

Sato, that chatterbox.

His abilities to develop scandals is frightening.

"Hello, Mr Loverboy."

"Hehe~"

"Hey Takemoto, is it true."

"Since when did this happen."

"You could have told us sooner. We would have helped to bring you closer."

Snuff my life.

"Look, he's shy to the point where he cannot answer us."

"Shut up!" I tried to shut them down.

"Look Sakurai, I understand." Sato hugged me over my shoulder with his arm with an apologetic expression.

"It must be hard to contain all those emotions. (sniff). Don't worry, everything is going to be alright."

"You all have the wrong idea about this!" I tried shaking them off.

Girls always sent me flabbergasted gazes but this time they were supporting me.

Boys don't even give a shit about me but now they are all excited and asking me stupid questions.

I don't feel like indulging in their curiosity.

Especially if its gossip about me.

So I ignored them all.

They can go and have their wild imaginations all they want.

I don't care.

"To think that something this deep was happening amidst us all along."

"Never would I have expected these two to have a crush on each other."

""Whistle~~~!""

There were multiple whistles and cheerful cries in the midst of the class.

I turned to look for some specific faces in class and one of them was Maki, with a withered expression, face devoid of all color whatsoever about to tear up as if she was about to cry.

Sayumi was beside her, trying to comfort her and apologizing.

I'll pay her back for this!

But the moment she looked at me, she immediately looked away as if avoiding my gaze.

Weird.

Nevertheless…

"Don't worry Sakurai. You are in good hands." Sato said as he gave me a thumbs up.

Why do I feel like this is going to get worse that it already is?

"No need. You have already caused enough problems for me."

"Problems? Me? No, no, no. Let me tell you this my friend. I am not a problem seeker. I'm a problem solver. And to help you solve your problem, I am going to make sure she likes you back. Aren't I generous?"

I'm getting a very negative premonition about this.

"No. I would rather you not get involved in my business."

"But you saying I have caused problems for you. Which is why I am going to solve them as someone you deem responsible for them."

"No, you aren't the cause for my problems so leave me alone?"

Its still morning and yet so much has already happened.

"If you have any problems to solve, go solve the class rep's."

At least that way, he would keep her busy and make her stay away from me.

Two birds with one stone.

"Problems? She has problems? What problems?"

"You can go ask her yourself. I am not telling you anything further than this."

He turned to look at the class rep and appeared like he was lost for a moment.

He turned back to look at me and said,

"I don't see any problem with her."

This dunce.

Just stay away from me!

"…"

In the midst of all this chaos which was residing in the class, no one noticed our homeroom teacher enter.

"Silence!"

"…"

"…"

"…"

Such authority.

Everyone scrambled back to take their seats as they knew how much trouble they were in.

Especially with the noise in our class, I bet it was resounding within the whole school.

"Sayumi. Sato. You have some explaining to do. Follow after me."

"Yes ma'am."

"Okay."

Our class representative and her vice followed after our teacher in order to explain the discourse in our class.

If teacher knows that what's happening is because of me, I wonder what she will do.

Luckily enough for me, the issue was resolved with our teacher.

Needless to say, it wasn't the same for my class since were still whispering about us.

Without thinking too much about it, I looked at Maki again only to see her staring back at me, fuming with anger.

You know what, let's just leave this bi-

This girl alone.

It appears to me that she's those types of girls who think that boys are always in the wrong.

You know what, let her suffer the rumors with me.

What's there to lose?

If she has someone to get mad at, it's the pair that went outside.

During our lessons and breaks, unfortunately, all the second years were like Sakurai and Maki this, me and her that.

Rumors sure does travel fast. Even more that our everyday news.

Still, I don't get why its such a burning topic anyway.

Its not like there are no relationships in my stream.

I'm pretty sure by tomorrow, they would have died down.

"Hah…" I exhaled dejectedly.

Why am I getting all this attention when I least need it?

Since its already lunch, today I am going to eat outside out of everyone's field of view.

"Thanks for causing problems for me."

"Sorry and you're welcome."

"A sorry isn't going to cut it. I'll never accept it."

"Then what do you want?"

Simple.

"I want you to resolve this mess you have caused me."

"That's all?"

"What did you expect?"

"Maybe something more."

Something more my ass.

This is the mess I have been trying to avoid.

"If you want more then I'll give it to you. Stop causing more problems for me."

"Your speech pattern has become weird. It's like you are getting more self-centered by the day. 'Resolve this mess you have caused me.' 'Stop causing more problems for me.' You should be more open with yourself."

Bad suggestion.

"I think I'm better this way."

"You don't need to worry about that. That's why I'm here to fix you into good shape."

Fix me?

She causing me trouble every second she's around.

"Speaking of which, today I made lunch."

"How nice." I said as I stood up to head out to the cafeteria.

"Wait. Today I may have made too much food so I was thinking if maybe I could share it with you."

How cliché.

"Do you want to eat with me that bad to the point you have to make excuses?"

"Hmm. I don't know what you are talking about."

"Ohh."

Then I went away.

"It's rude to refuse a girl's offer you know. Do you know how much courage it takes?"

I know the amount of courage it takes more than anyone in the world.

But I just want her to say it from her own mouth.

"I don't. And you still haven't resolved that issue yet. Unless you do, I am going to keep avoiding you from now on."

"I did promise that I'll fix it. Plus if you try avoid me I'll make you regret it."

"I'd like to see you try."

"You know what. Flip it. I'm using that promise from yesterday. I want you to eat my lunch with me."

I see where this is going.

"That promise was about waiting for you, not eating your food."

"Still, a promise is a promise."

"That promise was about something else entirely."

"Okay, then I'm using it like it should, so just wait there and stop where you are going and eat with me."

"I don't feel like to." As I said this, I was already walking away.

"Do you really hate me that much?"

Her voice felt like she was about to tear up.

I turned around and I could feel my heart slightly ache at the sight.

"Fine. I don't care anymore. Do what you want. If you feel the need to really avoid me and stay away from me that much, then-"
