Jealous much?

Jealous much?

Sometime early in the morning, before sunrise, Olivia realized she was alone. Was it the lack of Talon's solid, warm presence behind her that woke her? She certainly missed it once she realized it was gone.

It was hard to get back to sleep after that.

Lying alone in bed, tossing and turning, Olivia became aware of her body, the swollen soreness between her legs, and the warm liquid that dribbled out whenever she moved. She felt used. A warm, pleased tendril uncurled deep in her belly—satisfaction, she realized, especially after days of feeling empty and wanting.

When she finally decided it was time to get up, she noticed her phone and wallet on the nightstand, but her brain would not process their presence. Talon had left them here? Wait, Talon had left her here, alone? She thought he might be elsewhere in the house, but this made it seem like otherwise.

Right. She’d have to search the house now.

Inside the wallet was several hundred dollars more than she had originally, along with a note. Pffft. Who did he think he was, her sugar daddy?

When she turned on her phone and went through it, she noticed right away that all of her male contacts, except for her dad and her older brother, had been deleted. Everyone. All of the text messages she had with her guy, friends, hookups, study buddies…all the guys were gone. He'd probably read everything, too, before deleting it.

Jealous much? she asked herself. Then again, this was in line with the behavior she expected from someone who was trying to emulate a red flag yandere. Then again, maybe it turned out she was colorblind to his problematic behavior.

“Unnngggghhh,” she grumbled, falling back into her pillow and pressing her hands into her face. How was she going to fix this mess? How could she live her life with Talon in it?

It was a problem. He was a problem.

Bzzzt. Her phone buzzed on her nightstand.

Correction. There were three men in her contacts.

In the end, Olivia moved back into her apartment after her friends helped her install some security cameras, her landlord changed the locks, and she got new safety equipment. Would it keep Talon out? Maybe.

She hadn't seen him in almost a week, but he texted her every day...not that she replied. His texts made her feel odd. For some reason, seeing "💚T💚" pop up on her screen made her stomach flip, but it didn't last once her brain caught up. He kept treating her like his girlfriend. From her perspective, whatever was between them definitely wasn't a normal boyfriend-girlfriend relationship...did he truly believe that? Or was this part of his plan to "ruin" her?

It was Sunday night and Olivia didn’t have the luxury of worrying about it any longer, since her internship started the next morning at 8:00 am. Her alarm was already set for 6:00 am (goodbye late mornings!) and she had her chosen outfit hanging up on her closet door.

Now, she just had to fall asleep. Easier said than done.

“If I can’t have yooooou, no one else will doooooo, Why don’t you want meeeeee, oh how happy we’d beeeeeee….”

Time to get up…Olivia groggily reached for her phone and snoozed her alarm.

A minute later it went off again, “If I can’t have yooooou, no one else will doooooo, Why don’t you—”

Oh, shit. “Hello?” Olivia asked, belatedly realizing it was a phone call and not her alarm. “Yes, this is Olivia Sullivan.” Olivia looked at the clock on her wall. 8: 38 am. Shit!

“Oh, my gosh, I’m so sorry! I must’ve set my alarm wrong, I’ll be there as soon as possible.”

Olivia jumped out of bed and got ready as quickly as possible, not even taking the time to shower. It still took her over half an hour to get ready, making her show up to work over an hour and a half late. On her first day.

So much for first impressions.

When she finally had a moment to check her alarm, she saw that it was set for 6:00 pm. She frowned. She could’ve sworn she had set it for am.
