Somewhere, somehow, Thapelo sensed that he was dreaming. As if he just had to open his eyes and the dream would end. He was patiently waiting for the killcam to show him how he died, instead he heard a woman’s voice:
“Welcome to Lunar, your objective is to find and eliminate the the rebel leader.”
His eyes shot open, “a new update!” His body was already tensed and ready to run into battle when he noticed he was strapped to a wall. Trying to make sense of the situation, he realised he wasn’t alone, and that they were in a capsule, falling, really fast. His stomach started floating into his throat, making his entire body go numb for a moment.
“NoobMaster, are you my enemy?” Z3n3n3my asked, his voice the every calm, soothing stream of water. It took Thapelo only a moment to find him, he was strapped to the wall on the opposite side of the capsule.
“No?”
“Are you sure?”
“Your tag is white?”
“Thank you, NoobMaster, then neither am I yours.”
Thapelo felt his fingertips tingling with excitement! He couldn’t wait to see the new map and take a look at whatever new upgrades they got.
“SniperBunny, are you my enemy?” Hearing that name made Thapelo feel pale. She’d been the torn in his side from day one. One of the few players that he actually had trouble with. The other was ‘IvebecomeDeath’, a players no one knew anything about, except for, after each round, he would be number 1, with a k/d of at least 26.
“What do you think!”
“My thoughts are irrelevant, thinking doesn’t make it so.”
“No! You blind zen wannabe, I! Am! Not! Your! Enemy!”
“Thank you, SniperBunny, then I neither am I yours.”
The capsule slowed suddenly, sending Thapelo’s stomach, which was still hanging around in his throat, darting down to the floor. A light in the capsule started flashing red, with an electronic voice starting a count down, 5…4…3…2…1… There was a crash. Everything was shaking, including Thapelo’s stomach, who no longer knew where it was suppose to be. Fed up with the abuse, his stomach decided to take revenge and started emptying itself through the improper channels.
Thapelo couldn’t move, between the sensation of falling, then crashing, and then hurling, he unconsciously decided to stay in the capsule until further notice. Though, against his wishes, Z3n3n3my started unstrapping him, “It is only natural, for what ever goes down, must bring up, that is the way of balance.”
Outside everything felt grey. And light. Though mostly grey.
“It says we’re suppose to be a team of 5…” Thapelo said, looking at his HUD and already feeling more like himself.
“5 cannot balance! how can 5 balance, it is either 2 + 3, or 3 +2! 4 is balance, 6 is balance!”
“Zenidiot… we will be facing teams of 5! That means 5 + 5… Balance… Boom…”
“You are wise, SniperBunny, thank you for easing my soul…”
“Don’t thank me, it wasn’t your soul I was trying to ease…”
“We still need 2 team members…”
“Typical men, want the world to be fair, but treats no one fairly…”
“3 would make us unbalanced…”
“Okay, guess we’re doing this 3 vs 5?”
“Wow, this capsule is tight, it’s like, so, you know round, and, strong… Tight!”
“HeroKnight, are you my enemy?”
“I wonder, you know, if you could land on the sun, like, you know, with this capsule, I wonder if your feet would be warm on the inside?”
“Another idiot…ugh…”
“So that’s 4 now… Maybe our other teammate is still in the capsule?”
“HeroKnight, are you my enemy?”
“Nah man, that other dude was tight, he left as soon as we touched sweet, moon, earth…”
“HeroKnight! This is of grave importance! Are you my enemy?”
“Nah man, we cool, I like your twin pieces, tight! Straight up!”
“Thank you, then neither am I your enemy… And thank you, they symbolise…”
Thapelo glanced towards SniperBunny, and nodded, both agreeing that fighting would be a lot more fun than listening to the two of them rambling on. They took off, running towards the large dark dome. It wasn’t long before they noticed a hole in the dome where light was shining through.

“Guess that’s our entry point…”
“Captain obvious…”
NoobMaster reached for his weapon, unhooking it from his back. It was different. It looked similar to his usual sub-machine gun, but it felt weird. He pulled the trigger, firing a quick two bullets.
“What the hell? You’ll give away our position!”
“Our guns… they’re different… bullets are bigger, and firing rate is up…”
She stopped, unhooked the sniper from her back. The rifle itself was just as long as she was.
“O-yea, now this is a gun!”
NoobMaster swallowed hard. A shiver running down his spine as he saw her unholy smile.
“So glad we’re in the same team…”
She was the first to start running, ‘probably anxious to test out her new gun’, he thought, still a bit unnerved at the joy it seemed to give her.
They slid through the hole into what seemed like a ancient Greek city. Everything was a light sand colour, however, neither of them cared much for the decor, what drew their attention was the constant ringing of gunfire.
Within moments they took part, adding to the beautiful noise, NoobMaster in front, clearing the enemies who popped up close by, while SniperBunny exploded shots from behind him, killing enemies he didn’t even knew existed.
They made their way from the outskirts of the city, following the little sandstone road past the little sandstone houses, dropping enemies like they were bots. NoobMaster kept his eyes pealed, scouting every nook and cranny, finding enemy campers behind doorways; on rooftops; around tight corners; and then taking sweet pleasure in absolutely destroying them.
While SniperBunny focussed on eliminating enemy snipers, or any other idiots stupid enough to walk around in any open-ish spaces.
They actually made a great team, he thought after hearing another “Click…Boom!”
The sandstone road slowly broadened and the houses started becoming bigger and bigger. Until later, they completely left the residential district and entered the central business district.
NoobMaster heard SniperBunny kicking it into high gear, “Boom…Boom…Boom”, clearing enemies in large sandstone skyscrapers. More and more he would hear two gunshots per “Boom”. Not that he had time to wonder about things like that, enemies were popping up and out of everywhere.
Then “Boom” changed into a panicked “Son of a…”
They ducked into a large sandstone museum, for no other reason than it being the closest, and the giant marble pillars providing reliable cover.
“I’m out too!”
“We are royally fu…”
“Here…” a girl’s voice said, with no emotion what so ever. Before they could even ask, magazines were flying towards them.
“Your a life saver…” SniperBunny thanked her, already clipping in the first magazine.
“Hm.” She slipped in behind a pillar and disappeared.
“Did you see who that was?”
“Who cares, she gave us ammo, she’s a legend in my book…”
“IvebecomeDeath…”
“What?”
“Yea! Did you see how many guns she was carrying? I counted atleast 13 weapons hanging around her neck, and I think 3 pistols…”
“Not the usually thing a guy notices about a girl…”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean we’re going to die if you don’t pay attention loverboy…”
NoobMaster shook his head, trying to through the thoughts of IvebecomeDeath out his ears, and just in time, the moment his eyes reentered, enemies stared weaving through the pillars.
They were back, he was clearing enemies like there was no tomorrow, his sub-machine gun whizzing through whoever popped up in his peripheral vision. Slowly rebuilding their previous momentum, they restarted their journey towards the target.
“You ready?”
He nodded.
They stepped out of cover, “Boom, boom, boom, boom” SniperBunny pulled off a graceful 360 degree quad kill spin, clearing out four snipers waiting around the marketplace. NoobMaster kept his eyes locked to the stalls, this was a kill box, no doubt, but they knew it was the only way. He kept picking off enemies, 1 here, 1 there, however, being flashy now, would get them killed.
Step by step, kill by kill, they made it thought the marketplace, they could see the parliament building.
It went quiet, but only for a moment. Then the clank of a heavily armoured robot vibrated through the air. It walked down the stairs of the sandstone parliament building, leaving cracks after every step.
“A Boss fight?” He let the words out of his mouth.
“Well this is new.”
The robot kept its slow approach, seemingly unarmed. They were ready, although, they weren’t all together sure what to be ready for.
NoobMaster noticed two Gravity Bombs flying over his head towards the metal machine. They made contact and immediately pulled the robot to its knees.
“TNT Special motherbuffer!”
NoobMaster turned to see who was doing what, went 5 arrows with TNT attached to them darted past hitting the robot. He was expecting an explosion, but the arrow were just sitting there, stuck in the metal armour of the robot. Then, as if planned, Z3n3n3my let loose two gunshots followed by his own little catchphrase, “Because you are my enemy…”, igniting the TNT.
In an instant, HeroKnight and Z3n3n3my was standing in front of them, posing valiantly, waiting for the explosion, which moments later, graced them with an ear-popping boom and a magnificent fireball. However the celebration was short lived, when a second explosion killed all of them.

Somewhere, somehow, Thapelo sensed that he was dreaming. As if he just had to open his eyes and the dream would end. He was patiently waiting for the killcam.
He was looking at himself from HeroKnights point of view. He saw himself covered in dust, head tilted to the side, then he saw HeroKnight looking down and seeing the remaining TNT around his own waist igniting from the heat of the explosion, then, boom…
“Killed by HeroKnight1N1”
Next moment he was seated in a comfortable red chair. He saw 4 other chairs, all 5 of them arranged in a circle. Everything else was white. Infinity white, extending in every direction.
“Welcome to the Lunar Lounge, please wait here until all players are present.” A female voice welcomed him.

One by one the others started appearing in the remaining chairs. First was SniperBunny, who was steaming good and proper. He was sure that if anyone handed her an egg, she would be able to boil it in the palm of her hand. That is, if she could show enough restraint to not crush it instantly.
Then, moments later, Z3n3n3my appeared, holding his head, whispering the same thing over and over, “he said he wasn’t my enemy, but he killed me. he said he wasn’t my enemy, but he killed me. he said he wasn’t my enemy, but he killed me. he said he wasn’t my enemy, but he killed me.”
HeroKnight was the last one to arrive. “Tell me you guys saw that! That was next level tight! Pew pew pew, arrows arrows arrows, and bang! Fireball! It was, like, uberr-tight, like, uber-uuber tight!” He slouched back into his chair, unaware of any tension, smiling like he saved the day, “I wish we could do that again…”
