At that moment, amid the vast city, Hendrix suddenly really wanted to see Noelle. As he gripped the steering wheel and slowly pulled the car over to the side of the road, his phone suddenly rang
It was the hospital calling to inform him that William had woken up.
At the hospital, Craig stood over Matilda's bed, gazing at her ever-paler, frailer face. And with each passing moment, his own expression grew darker.
To make matters worse, things were still far from settled with William. He'd heard that Hendrix had already gotten involved, and he couldn't understand why Hendrix would choose to meddle now. But there was nothing he could do to intervene.
After all, his dealings with William were far from clean, and if he interfered, it would only expose his own involvement. Fortunately, he hadn't left any evidence behind. With only William's and Noelle's
accusations, there was no way to prove anything.
As Craig was thinking about this, Noelle's lawyer suddenly contacted him, saying that Noelle wanted to meet with him. He didn't fully know what she wanted but ultimately agreed to meet her.
"How's Mom doing?" This was the first thing Noelle said when she saw him.
Craig didn't answer. He merely stared at her.
"If it's still possible, I want to donate my kidney for her transplant," Noelle suddenly said.
This caught Craig off guard.
Noelle smiled at him. "I've thought it through, and no matter what, she's still my mother. But I have one condition.
Craig finally opened his mouth to ask, "What?"
"I want to join Elm Group. I've had enough of this place.noveldrama
After Noelle answered, Craig remained silent.
At the moment, Noelle's situation wasn't actually that bad after all, it was a fact that William had entered with a knife and had a criminal record. Even if her actions were considered an excessive act of self- defense, William hadn't died. At worst, she would only receive a suspended sentence.
Noelle couldn't possibly not know that, and yet, she was now actually saying that she agreed to undergo the kidney transplant?
Noelle's voice came again, "Is that a no?"
Craig snapped back to reality. He stared at her for a moment before
"I've said it already-I've had enough of this place."
Craig only scoffed, not believing her for a second.
asking, "w?"
"Of course, the choice is yours." Noelle slowly looked away her expression indifferent. "If you don't agree, then just continue as you were. Pretend you were never here. After all, the one who's dying right now isn't me."
"Noelle!" shouted Craig through tightly clenched teeth.
But after a while, he slowly relaxed. "You want to join Elm Group? And then what?"
"Give me ten percent of the shares, and then I want to be transferred to the subsidiary in Vinton City," Noelle continued, outlining her terms. "I'll work there for two years and return to headquarters after that." Craig scoffed again. "And then completely replace me?"
are
"If it only takes me two years to replace you, then you're not as great at your job as you think." Noelle smirked." And have you ever considered this? I'm your biological daughter. If you don't hand the company over to me, you really planning to give it to Sandra?
"She may be a Swanson by name, but she's ultimately someone else's child. As for what happened with William, you should know the details better than anyone. At this point, I imagine you have limited control over what's unfolding.
"Also, have you thought about whether this situation was an accident or if someone intentionally set it up?"
