Chapter 10

After gathering some ingredients from the forest I have almost everything to alreast make something useful...

If what I think is correct if I mix the [Blueglow mushrooms] and [choking flower] with the [Alchemy] skill [Mixing & disassembly] we should get [Sleeping powder].

*Ding

  ~Sleeping Powder~

-When thrown at an enemy has a 75% chance to inflict the [Sleep] effect for 5 mins.

These will be my secret weapons for fighting the snakes.

Hell ya.

I had to look so long to find an alchemy recipe on the forms. It seems like it's not a very popular skill due to npcs selling potions and such in shops... Well I better go and test this [Sleeping powder].

After leaving the forest I ran into a [large boar] that was drinking down by the water in a small cut off of the river.

It still hadn'tnoticed me so I disided too sneak up behind him. Im pretty sure he has a shit ton more Hp then me. This is better work or else I'm a goner…

Sneaking into the edge of the boar's blind spot. I started pouring a large amount of the powder in my hand putting it close to my mouth. I blow towards the nose of the boar. He soon notices my presents and slams his body into me pushing me back. for a second I felt like everything slowed down around me I could hear the crunch of my ribs. Before speeding back up again

The impact sent me fly hitting the floor and rolling a good few feet away from the boar.

*Ping*

----------------------------------------

-Due to the [large boars] resistances the large boar has stayed awake. But all stats are reduced by 70%.

----------------------------------------

Rolling over on the floor it's feels painful to breath letting out a grunt i slowly got up from the floor. my left hand grabbing my right ribs. Holy shit.

Damn this game sure has some painful ecperinces.

After a few seconds the pain started to dull... I slowly started feeling better. but the pain wasnt fully gone each breath a sharp pain hit my side. Damn I guess it didn't work all the way. The boar's right eyes shut and it started breathing heavily, its legs had giving out beneath it. Dark vains bulged and spider webed down its legs reaching all the way to the floor. It could no longer move but was only barely conscious.

Stumbling over to the boar and Pulling out my sword from my inventory I push it through the boar's head.

All its movement stopped.

*Ping

-Title: [Brutal killer] has been acquired.

-You have picked up a [large pelt]

  ~Brutal killer~

-Make the spirits of Death smile.

Effect: when making poisonous and harmful substances the amount produced is doubled.

Man the descriptions kinda creepy first the devil's key and now death spirits. Well the effects are kinda useful. Well i guess I should make a few more of these.

The pain from my ribs was gone it was as if it never happen. Man I feel way to super human.

Walking back into the forest I started collecting all the herbs I could find.

I ended up finding a lot of [Choking flowers]. But not too many [Blueglow mushrooms] all have to look for more later after mixing the two plants it came out to sixteen bags of sleeping pouder I failed 4 times.

But that's alright thanks to my new title I got double the items.

I think I should do a few more test before i try it on the snakes.

I wonder how effective it is on groups.

Walking around in the field I came across a group of three wolves.

"Awesome just what I was looking for."

My best bet would be to throw the bag in the center of them and hopefully it's effective. Grabbing a bag from my inventory I got as close as I could to the wolves. Raising my arm up. I puased for a second...

Well maybe just one more.

Pulling another powder from my inventory I threw the bags at the wolves the bags slammed into the floor and a thick purple cloud engulfed the wolves.

There doesn't seem to be any movement.

Stepping closer to the cloud.

A large pair of jaws came thrusting from the cloud just to fall inches away from my face. It's hot breath hit my face stunned I didn't move.

Then collapsed it collapsed on the floor the smoke soon cleared.

Checking out the status with [Inspection] they seem to be asleep.

So it worked.

Seems like they had no resistance to it so they almost fell asleep instantly unlike the boar who put up a fight and Experience more pain.

Welp better not let these guys go to waste.

Pulling out my sword and stabbing it through the three wolf heads. There was no resistance.

It seems like killing these monsters is going to be easy.

    -Wolf fangs x3

    -Wolf pelts x2

Man, I wonder how much these will sell for in town.

Looking around its starting to get dark. Everything becomes a lot stronger at night I'm told. I better head back to town. Heading back to town I picked up as many plants I could find on the way.

Since there's not a lot of recipes online i guess i should try making my own.

After reaching the town night was just about the start there were a few other people besides myself heading into the town.

When I got to the gate I was stopped by one of the guards.

“Due to it bein night time i'm going to need some ID.”

Putting his hand out. There armor was very shiny I looked to cover most of the fatial spots. But only just enough so they can still move fast enough.

The thought put into the armor is very detailed. All have to figure out how to make armor later.

Pulling out my guild ID and putting it in his hand. Hopefully this works.

Putting the card up and looking at it. He quickly handed it back to me.

“Alright you're good to go have a nice night.”

“Yes you too.”

Huh looks like they look at people's ID at night. Well not like i do anything wrong in the first place.

Looking around town. There supposed to be a workshop area somewhere around here…

Looking at the screenshot i took earlier it should be just down this street. Looking up from the guild was very large; it looked like an old style house but very large. Walking up to the doors of the building and pushing them open. It came to a large hallway with many doors and stairs leading up on each side.

Each door had a large sign on the door some said occupied while some said open.

Walking up to one of the doors that says open and putting my hand on the nob.

You just go inside right?

Turning the knob and pushing on the door it gave way and I soon fell into an all white room the door quickly shut behind me.

*Ping

~Calculating work space for players skills.

The room soon became a large room with wooden walls with a table in the middle, a large chain hung from the ceiling holding up a large candle.

Sitting on the table in the middle of the room was a small mortar and hand grinders and various other tools for alchemy. A small panel sat next to the door

~Set room skill: Alchemy

Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation.

Huh so i can change the room all have to test that out another time sitting at the table i began grinding the [Fire flowers].

They grinded into a red and gray power its properties im still not sure of but the flower is quite interesting itself.

  ~Fire flower~

-Looks like a bright red flower with black veins running down its petals

-A flower cursed by the sun. When sunlight touches the flower it burns without dying. In tell the flower is out of the sunshine.

Putting the powder inside a blacked out glass bottle and putting the cork on the top.

All have to test this one out tomorrow. I guess I should try others as well.

Stashing the powder inside my inventory I tried making various other items as well. After sitting in that room for a few hours i ran out of materials to test with.

After all my tests I came up with 4 things I need to test. The [Fire flowers] powder. I mixed [Shadow wood] that I picked up from a trader. With iron using alchemy and came up with a new weapon.

As well as other items I need to test, it's going to be a very busy day.

Lucky that request doesn't have a time limit.

After leaving the workshop it cost me 2 silver coins for my time inside. And it was just about to be morning.

Not bad at all.

Heading to one of the npc stalls I sold the wolf drops and the boar drops and got a silver coin.

All have to hunt quite a few later...

Leaving the city and heading off the field. Taking the small black glass bottle from my inventory. Tossing it into the air and catching it.

I wonder what it's going to do.

Shaking it and looking inside. I can't see anything so i don't think the sunlight hit it yet.

I soon came across a pair of wolves sleeping in the grass. Shaking the bottle one last time I threw it at the wolves. The glass shattered when hitting the floor the powder spread all over on the wolves and the grass around them.

Startled by the sound the wolves stood up.

Every spot the powder touched soon went a flame burning the wolves. one-of the wolves legs gave way beneath itself it fell and died right away.

The other started running and only went a few feet before collapsing there bodys kept burning in the sun tell only black bones were left. Taking a bottle of water I dosed the flame. Soon smoke filled the air.

[Black bones: Wolf] have been acquired.

  ~Black bones: Wolf~

A Wolf burned so bad there soul burn with it causing the wolfs bones to be forever stained.

-Can be used for Ancient magic.

Well I guess these are handy but I don't know any ancient magic. I better start studying magic.

Well the bottle worked really well I think all call it [Bottle ‘o’ flame] kinda cheesy but i like it.

I've got a few more things I need to test. But I better not put that next to my face anymore haha. That would be bad.

Taking the new weapons out of my inventory it was a large wooden pole made from the [Dark wood] which gave it a cool gray color as well as the [Dark attribute].

Maybe about six feet tall it's a little bit taller than myself. I also put a iron rod down the center for support.

All, be able to beat the shit outta some stuff soon. It seems like it doubles as a staff as well.

  [Shadow wood staff]

-A reinforced wooden staff that can be used with pole arts.

-Gives a 20% increase when shadow arts or dark magic is used.

Well I don't have pole arts or dark magic. I guess all have to look into both of them.

Wait what time is it?

Pulling up the system window. It's around 1 pm I guess I should log out and check on clara.

These tests are going to have to wait.

    [logging out]

..

.

“Clara”

Knock knock*

The door slightly cracked open an eye aperd inside the crack.

“Yea what's up?”

“Just came to check on you and make sure you're alright.”

She opens the door just enough for her face to go between the door.

“Yep all good here.”

“Alright whatever.”

Turning around and walking back to my room. Why do I even check on her? She's always fine. and it's always so weird.

Oh well all look at the BE forms one last time and log back in and test a few things.

Pulling up the forms on my computer and scrolling through the posts there doesn't seem to be anything too interesting just people talking about quests.

After going through some posts for a few mins I came across one.

List of the most useless skills.

It seems like it was made some time ago so i dont think it's valid anymore but I wonder if anyone made a new one.

Going up to the search bar of the forms i put in.

“most useless skills”

Two posts popped up both by the same person. One was the post I found previously, the other was made only a few hours ago.

I really wonder what people consider useless.

Clicking on the post opens a list of 20 skills. some I haven't even heard of.

But a few caught my eye that these aren't skills I wouldn't have thought to be useless.

The list included a few of my skills like.

[Taming], [Alchemy], [Enchanting] and [Farsight].

I don't see anything wrong with these skills though. Listed off by each of the skills were their main reasons for being ineffective.

Taming- Relies mostly on luck to get a successful tame.

You can either feed them while they are awake. But it only works if they like you. Or with the new update you can fight with it and tell its submites but most people won't take the skill due to the hassle.

Enchanting- You have learned a completely new language for writing which is called runes but most people stop trying to learn due to the complexity of runes in the provided libraries.

Wait so players see taming as a wait even though it's hard to tame things.

Many people are just really lazy.

And i learned runes pretty easy i wonder what he means can you just go to the guilds and buy the rune book. It teaches you everything you need to know.

Wait if people don't like using runes how do people use magic?

Quickly pulling up a new tab and looking up.

“How to use magic in BE”

Multiple videos popped up but most of them just seemed like players fighting mobs clicking through a few videos.

It seems like I never needed to learn runes for magic, most players just say the name of the spell outloud and it comes out.

I practiced saying runes so fast for nothing damn.

Wait, something doesn't seem right about this. Looking at their Mp consumption while using the simple light spell seems greatly larger then when i used it.

There goes down by two per spell while mine goes down by one.

Hm i guess all stick with saying the runes for now.

Most players try to get their intellect to reach 20 points, which gives them the skill [Chantless] which makes them just think about the spell instead of saying it outloud.

They really put skills once you hit a point with your stats that's a pretty good idea.

I wonder if the others give skills at certain levels too.

Wait if i get my points to 20 do i get it as well?

If so I can make my magic highly effective using runes and chantless magic all get less magic consumption with the same amount of power with a fast cast time.

It's the perfect idea.

Oh I guess I should look at the other skills and why they're bad maybe i can find a way around it.

Alchemy- Using the skill comes out with the desired item. The only drawbacks are it requires you to make corrections to recipes or whatever your making. You can also fail if your luck isn't high. So buying from the npcs is a lot easier.

I guess i can see how people think it's tedious but if you try at it you make better stuff then the npcs.

Farsight- only thing useful about this skill is it provides night vision at night. That's only at lvl 2. Other than that its just used to see things far away.

Damn they must have not tried anything else with it. I use it to look at monsters levels when they're far away. I think it's pretty useful.

Well now that I looked through the forms.

I better log back in.

..

.

Looking around this field there doesn't seem to be any players around just a few monsters.

Useing [Farsight] I looked at the monsters in the area.

It seems like there's mostly wolves and a few boars.

Over by a line of trees the birds seemed to be attacking something but the grass was too tall for me to see anything.

I might as well go check it out.

Running over to the birds as soon as they noticed me one drifted off the from the other two looks like it's going to attack me.

I don't have anything to attack things that are flying.

My train of thought was soon interrupted. The bird came swooping down and barely hitting my arm.

A small cut appeared on my arm and it slowly started to bleed. I could feel the sting on my arm like I was really cut.

The pain was tolerable but still if i get to many it could really hurt. I have to think of something fast.

Wait didn't i learn that magic. Iv never tried it but better now then never.

After saying the runes in the correct pattern a small light grew on the tip of my pointer finger.

Pointing my finger at the bird in a gun shape.

[Impact]

The light shot from my finger launching with high speed quickly hit the bird. Upon hitting the bird a small exploding occurred sending feathers into the air they were the only thing left.

They slowly fell to the floor.

Damn i didn't know it was that strong.

*Ping

~New spell: [Impact] has been added to your spell list.

Huh I guess I never got the pop up when I used [Light].

I wonder what the stats of impact are?

*Ding

  [Impact]

~Desc: a beginner level spell that uses magic to form a large clump of mana and Hurling it at a remarkable speed upon hitting   the target it explodes.

Uses [explosion magic]

[Att]- 10

[Mp cos]- 2

Huh it's better then the [Blade of grass] which has 7 attack damage.

Wait the other birds!

After running over and attacking the two birds these ones seem a little bit more skilled one used [wind magic] to send wind blades.

I barely dodged them. I had to quickly take it out before it hit me.

The other one seemed to do the same as the first one swooping down and attacking.

I soon took care of him as well. After taking care of the birds I started looking for what they were attacking.

Pushing the grass outta the way and looking around there didn't seem to be anything.

Only after standing up did I realize I was sitting right next to a small black snake that was not bigger than my hand.

It had a small cut down its side.

It must have been avoiding the bird's attacks by moving in the grass. I don't know if i have anything like healing potions.

But i do have bandages wrapping the side of the snake with a small bandage.

Hopefully this will help.

“Here ya go bud.”

It started to move a bit more and it slowly slither its way into my hand.

I can't just leave him here he might get attacked again.

Well I guess all just carry him for the time being.

Using the rest of the cloth i had from the bandages i made a small pouch using alchemy i combined my shirt and the pocket now i have a small pocket on the inside of my shirt.

All line the inside of it with leaves from the dark trees and put him in there to rest.

I guess it's a bad idea to put a snake in my shirt but it's not like I care. It was soon going to be night again. I better head back to town.

After going back to town it was just light enough for the guards to let me inside without having to show my ID.

Looking at the map there should be an inn around the corner.

After walking a bit I came to a large building walking through the door. It opened to a large room with many people sitting in chairs.

It was quiet for how many people were sitting inside. Most had beer or food sitting in front of them.

There was a desk across the room from me as I walked over to the desk.

A few people seemed to have noticed me there, eyes following me as I walked.

Some were players and the rest were npcs walking to the table.

There was a small girl around the same age as me. Her back was turned to me, her black hair reaching down to her shoulders.

Her hair moved revealing two pointed ears as she seemed to be cleaning dirty glasses in a large tub of water.

“Um excuse me.”

“One second and all be right there.”

Putting down the glasses and drying off her hands she turned around. She was very pretty looking, her features were very detailed, her eyes just like her hair were black this is interesting.

I've never seen an elf with black eyes. Now that i think about it i've never seen one with black hair ether.

“Do you want food or a room to stay in? Or are you just gonna stare?”

“Ah yes sorry for staring. I would like a room.”

“It's fine if you don't like how I look you can leave. If not that will be 1 silver coin.”

Putting the coin on the table she handed me a room key.

“First door on the left up the stairs.” pointing one of her fingers over to the stairs.

“I wasn't Staring to be rude. I quite like how you look.” grabbing the room key and walking up the stairs without turning around. I hope i didn't say anything to mean.
