Prologue

"Now listen here you lower life bug! You WILL do what I have requested or ill squash you like the bug you are! I am..."

I kept a bright smile on my face and tuned him out as the god in front of me started to ramble, his aura radiating off of him in waves. Based off what I felt from his aura he was decently powerful, somewhere in the top 20 for gods I had met, but still nowhere near the level need to resist my soul pressure.

Yeah, that's a thing, soul pressure, comes from the thousands of jobs, or lives I have lived. Gave my soul a certain weight to it. Doesn't have much use except for crushing those too weak to resist it. Which now in days seems to be most gods I meet. I tuned back into the god sitting across from me "The Undying Light, Conqueror of..." I tuned him back out, he's still doing his whole spill about how high and mighty he is.

It was usual for most of these encounters with gods for them to be arrogant like this. Something about having millions to billions of people worshiping you for eons on end for the miracles you performed inflated their heads which often caused them to treat me like this unless I revealed a bit of my soul pressure. I don't get the attraction of having people worship you, always seemed a bit weird to me but to each their own I guess.

I sighed mentally, making sure to not show it on my face as I recalled the time when my father taught me one of the core rules I live by.

"Never show any emotion but joy and happiness to others unless they cross your bottom line, so when you do show other emotion, then they truly know how badly they have angered you."

"But father, I get how those who have known you for some time might notice something like that, but what if they haven't known you long enough? Or what if they're just plain oblivious?" I had asked my father when I was 10 years old and had gotten angry at a friend for stealing my favorite toy, a toy airplane father and I had built together.

"Those who don't know you or are oblivious son can only count themselves as unlucky, but there will be very very few people like that." My father replied as he picked me up and sat me on his broad shoulders. I still had questions to ask him but I could tell when my father wouldn't continue a conversation.

Someone kicked my shin under the table we sat, startling me out of me reminiscing. I glanced to my right at my middle-aged butler James who sat beside me, glaring at me. I chuckled lightly before focusing back on the arrogant god in front of me, who just like all other gods before him ignored James's existence, for them it was like he didn't exist.

Said god was also glaring at me, causing me to sigh mentally. I had the bad habit of getting lost in my thoughts at the worst of moments, it was horrible for social moments like this.

I let out a light cough "So Mr... Sorry, what was your name?... You know what never mind, ill just call you Bob. Now Mr. Bob you want me to go kill the demon king in your world yes? I ignored Bob as his glare intensified and how he now had a noticeable vein throbbing on his forehead and continued " That's easy and can be done, but on the conditions I give all my clients, in case you don't know them ill tell you now. All memories of the life I spend in your world will be sealed until I decide to unseal, it is up to me how long I spend on your world after I kill the demon king, be it a few minutes or the rest of that bodies life span, when I choose to leave that world you will return me here, to my original body and right before the point in time I left to help your world. Finally, all previously stated terms do not count towards my payment, and you must pay me based on the difficultly of killing the demon king, which I will decide before leaving your world. Do you accept these terms?"

I took a deep breath to recover some air I had lost due to quite the lengthy list of terms. Bob's face had turned a dark red with multiple veins throbbing on his forehead, I mentally sighed and kept a bright smile on my face as I prepared myself for the arrogant god to explode in anger.

"YOU LOWER LIFE UNGRATEFUL BUG, BOW DOWN AND BEG FOR MERCY AND I MIGHT CONSIDER..." As I prepared to release a bit of my soul pressure to remind him who he was talking to Bob's tirade was interrupted by a bright flash of light filling the room, robbing me of my vision and cutting him off. I blinked my eyes slowly a few times to clear the black spots in my eyes as I started to regain my vision.

What greeted me was a sight that I would forever curse as the starting point of the worst moments of my life. Bob had been propelled backward and through the wall behind him somehow, he was laying on the ground with rumble surrounding him and blood leaking out of his mouth, I could see his chest rising up and down still so he was still alive.

Where he previously sat was a floating blue sphere. It was radiating an unbelievable heavy pressure. Comparing its pressure to the pressure that even the most powerful gods I had encountered radiated was like comparing a candle to the sun. My soul was screaming at me to flee for my life that despite how powerful my soul was I didn't stand a chance against the sphere. It terrified me deeply, I hadn't felt this way from a being ever since I completed my 3259 job, which was when I also stopped counting them.

I don't know what this thing is but I know that the thing in front of me could end my life with but a mere thought.

Before I fully regained my senses and could understand what was fully going on the blue sphere threw me for another loop as it spoke.
