Note: I rewrote the previous chapter after RRl's new site deleted it and pasted my previous chapter. I couldn't muster up the effort to fix everything as I had just studied 6 hours of calculus 3 for my final. Sorry about that, and I will be writing this story in Google Docs from now on to prevent such a failure of duty from ever occurring again. Sorry about this mistake.
I squint my eyes before I rasp, “What?”
Harlow shakes his head as he says, “The process accelerate faster than I expected...I wanted to ease him into the idea of it, but...”
Bordore nods as he says towards Gorge, “He’s spreading. We have to quarantine him.”
I turn towards gorge spouting, “Is there some way to stop this? I don’t want to make everything gray with gross veins everywhere.”
She grins before she says, “I can stop it for now, but you won’t be able to stay here for much longer unless you wished to form a union with me for harmony's sake. I doubt Allure would be so keen on the idea despite her suggestive nature.
I shrug before I say, “I’ll avoid it...How do you know about that anyway?”
She frowns as she blushes orange saying, “I tried to do so with the Arbiter of Apocalypse.”
My eyes soften as I say, “That makes sense. Hell, if he saved me while holding me in his arms, I might even go gay. Who knows?”
The tense atmosphere melts before Bordore says, “I can see that Pyrex has stabilized.” He stares towards me continuing, “So what happened? You suddenly became so angry...I didn’t understand what to do anymore.”
I frown as I say, “My tails were gaining sentience, and their emotions leaked into my own. I sort of lost myself at that point. I’m sorry about that.”
Harlow nods before saying, “Gorge was a rather...tumultuous individual before her changes finally set in. We understand if it will be a bumpy process for you as well.”
I raise an eyebrow as I say looking between Harlow and Gorge, “So...Gorge was the same?”
Harlow bites his lip before Gorge walks towards me with her arms open saying, “You're delaying of the infection prevented a normal transformation process. Whenever Allure first stole parts of your life force, she took large parts of your humanity as well.”
She places a hand on one of my tails speaking while staring at it, “Your body reacted by evolving to compensate for this loss. After soaking up the solution, the alterations sped to a point where early buddings of your primary focus spawned.”
She looks towards me as she says, “I am a hivemind that disperses from my core...Harlow was my first victim hundreds of years ago...He was my best friend at that time.”
She glances downwards as she rasps, “It still pains me at what I did.”
Harlow says, “I’ve told you thousands of times Sophia. It’s fine. It doesn’t bother me. I’m glad we got to spend so many illustrious years together.”
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
She nods with an unconvincing affirmation before I say, “That’s incredible...I can’t believe you're both so...ancient.”
Gorge’s tentacles whip the back of my head before she stares daggers through me. I say, “I like the angry and fierce you better than that sad and mopey version.”
Her stare softens before Bordore says, “I do as well. Regardless however, we must focus on the task at hand. Where are you going to go Pyrex?”
I glance towards him as I say, “Can I even be an ambassador anymore? I don’t really appear...human.”
Bordore raises his right hand pointing it towards the cieling as he says, “Ahhh, but you have the particular advantge of retaining your way of speaking.”
Harlow nods as he says, “Exactly. You still speak just as you did before your transformation. We have been around the hive mind to such an extent that our method of communication no longer resembles your species normal tongue.”
I balance my hands as I say, “I mean, you both speak normal enough. Gorge has a sort of...old timey way of talking, but it isn’t terrible.”
Harlow retorts, “I do not believe so. I speak like a sheltered scientist. Gorge is like an angry victorian woman, and Bordore lacks the charisma you have.”
Bordore nods saying, “I am dry as a dessert.”
I frown as I say, “alright, that makes sense I suppose...where would be the best place for going back to?”
Gorge frowns as she recovers from her earlier grief saying, “It has to be somewhere of moderate political importance while giving us an excellent groundwork for spreading our message...I can’t think of any place on Tera that doesn’t despise us however.”
I nod as inspiration sparks while I say, “But there is a place that is least likely to hate me.”
Gorge says loaded with skepticism, “I doubt their are many that enjoy your company, but we’re open to any suggestions.”
I spread my arms as I say, “My home town. We can go to Bigel. It’s moderately sized with a small military presence that won’t jump at retaliating versus me.”
Borodre purses his lips as he says, “Wouldn’t it be better if we went to a place where no one knew you before your transformation? They will fully understand the extent of your alterations...They might become hostile because of this.”
Gorge says, “But his personality hasn’t altered besides for a few emotional outbursts before from his alterations. As long as he controls himself, he should be able to win them over after the initial shock of seeing him in this state.”
I grin as I peer between them both saying, “Then that settles it. We’ll be heading off to Bigel. I can’t wait to see my family.”
Gorge grimaces as she says pouring her grim outlook into the air as she says, “Be ready. I can say from experience. This might get...ugly.”
