"Today is a good day," I said out loud.
I have a date with my girlfriend today and dressed up nicely.
I have a nice blue long-sleeved sweater with dark navy jeans, almost black. My dirty blonde hair is scattered, as that's how my girlfriend liked it. I even bought myself fake glasses, rounded to add flair to my blue eyes.
The sky was clear, with no clouds in sight—a quiet and peaceful afternoon. I walked along the park's path, watching a few dogs play together, wrestling against each other. I continued walking and chuckled, watching the dogs fall and get up.
"Ezra," A girl's voice came from behind me.
I look over to a bench behind me.
"You passed right by me."
Sitting on the bench is a young lady with brown hair and brown eyes. Her hair was no longer than her shoulders. She wears a yellow shirt and a long skirt going down to her feet.
"Ha-ha, sorry, Yui. The dogs were a little too distracting."
I walk back over to her and sit down beside her. God, she looks beautiful today.
"It seems like I always have to call after you," Yui said.
I looked her in the eyes, "Come on, that never happens."
She gets up, walks forward, and looks back at me, "Well, you could always come early; I've been waiting for like 15 minutes now."
I looked at my watch and looked at her with a confused look. "I'm early by 10 minutes."
"Do better," Yui Teased me
"If you don't, I'll leave you without hesitation."
Yui smiled and laughed a bit. I got up, ready to start the date.
CRACK...
I paused.
"What was that?" I Said
Yui was looking up at the sky when she pointed. She said no words and was in shock. I turned around and looked up at the sky. A giant crack appeared in the sky, almost like a single crack through glass.
CRACK...
The crack turned into a web of streaks with some holes showing nothing but darkness.
"Yui, we need to go."
CRACK... CRR... CRR
I looked back as the sky got worse. Fear took over me, and I looked back as Yui looked in horror. Others around us started to run. Where to? I had no idea.
BRRRRRMMMMMM
I look back as the broken sky starts to disappear. The blue sky turned black, and the sun disappeared. No moon or stars were seen. The surroundings still had light, as if the sun was still there. The stars start to appear in the void, and soon enough, they form an eye in the sky.
I grabbed Yui's arm and started running to the nearest building, hoping we would find some safety there.
"What's happening?" Yui wondered
We ran as fast as possible as others did. I didn't know if this would help, but I couldn't think of anything else to do. Suddenly I stopped running and Yui ran into me. Instead of feeling an impact, I stood as if nothing happened. I couldn't move, walk, run, or move my head or arms.

"what are you doing?" Yui said behind me.
Yui came in front of me. I was still in a running position, frozen in time.
"Ezra, Wh-What's happening to you."
All I could see was Yui's face as she looked shocked. I could still move my eyes around. I looked past Yui to see someone in a situation similar to mine. They were covered in a purplish glow, almost like glitter, shimmering but translucent.
Suddenly, I began to float upwards.
"E-Ezra," Yui said.
I could hear her starting to tear up.
Yui grabbed my feet, trying to hold me down. She started to rise, too. We were a good 5 meters up until she couldn't hold on any longer. Her hand slipped, and she fell. I couldn't see her; all I could see was the void above me.
"EEEZZZRRRRAAA!" Yui screamed
I began to go faster and faster. The sounds of Yui's cry became quieter and quieter. I couldn't close my eyes. Others covered in a purple glow were in front of me, all frozen in weird positions as some were running, sitting, and lying down. A Trail of the glittering purple light trailed behind them. As we ascended into the dark sky, the purple streaks started to disappear from the sky one by one until I, too, entered the void.
Darkness overtook me; I could feel the inertia of me accelerating through space. My body started moving itself into a standing position. Slowly, my body became numb, and I regained control. Wind passed through my hair as I dived through the emptiness surrounding me.
A light appeared too bright for me to see anything. I blocked the sunshine with my hand. As my eyes adjusted, I finally saw the ground, except I was thousands of meters in the sky.
"AAAAAHHHHH!"
As I fell, others drawn in also appeared in the same purplish glittery streak. We descended, gaining more and more speed. The ground got closer and closer; my heart had never beaten so hard before. The wind got stronger and stronger, my skin stretching more and more. My eyes were teary from the wind blasting my eyes.
Closer and closer, I knew I was about to die. It was a feeling like no other. The ground became clear, trees became visible, and I slammed into the ground within a few seconds.
"Haaaaaah."
I gasped for air, panting as if I just drowned or fell from the damn sky. I lay faced-up on some grass, my hands went to my heart, slapping my chest. I held it there until I calmed down. I got up and looked around.
Rolling hills with trees scattered throughout, nice green grass about half a meter tall. I looked up at the sky. More and more purple fiery streaks were coming down. I saw a line come down and land near me.
I start making my way over, looking for someone else, hopefully. I make my way over, and I finally see another human. A girl was lying on the ground. She had blonde hair.
RUSTLE RUSTLE
I look over to the bushes; someone else is coming here, too.
The girl started to get up, from what it looked like she was around my age.
RUSTLE
From the bushes, a humanoid Figure appeared. It had pale yellow skin, no clothes, and no eyes or nose. It had big ears and a mouth filled with razor teeth, just smiling.
I backed away
The girl looks over. "What in th-"
The creature shot like a bullet covering 10 meters quickly and snapped at the girl's throat. Blood splattered as the animal chowed down on the girl's body.
I fell backward, hitting the ground with a thump.
The creature's ears perked up, moving its head in my direction.
Sound: it uses sound to find its prey. I looked around, trying to find something to throw. Nothing was around. I'm fucked. The creature slowly approached me, creeping, hunting, and listening carefully. It got down on all fours, ears up.
It had made its way towards me; I kept my breathing in check and slowly crawled backwards.
Oh lord, I don't know what I had done, but this was beyond scary. Slowly I made it away about a few meters away heading towards where I landed. I got up and started to creep over, looking where I stepped to ensure I wouldn't make noise.
I walked and walked and finally made some reasonable distance.
"HHHEEEYYY OVER HERE"
I looked over, and a man was standing waving his arms. I turned around and saw the creature. It smiled once again and started to do a weird walk, imitating a person.
Oh fuck, I started to wave at the guy trying to get him to be quiet, but it was too late.
"Finally more Peo-"
The creature lept, but before he could bite the guy's throat, he was impaled with a spear. Its body limped as blood pooled. It tried getting up, but the spear returned to where it came from, leaving the creature's body. The beast fell to the ground.
"Oh my god," said the guy.
Holy fuck, it's dead. I looked over at the guy. He had fallen to the ground, clutching his neck. He had blonde hair with blue eyes. he was wearing a t-shirt with now pissed-soaked pants. Over the hill to the side, a group of people were making their way over to us.
I walked over to the guy as the group reached us.
"Ah, thank god we made it in time," said a small girl.
She was maybe 16 years old, had blonde hair that matched her golden armour and had a black accent. Her armour was mainly cloth, from what it looked like,
"Well, you did nothing," said a man.
He was taller than me, maybe 6 feet 5 inches. He had a darker skin tone and had black hair. He wore red armour with black accents as well. He held the spear that impaled the creature, which matched his armour.
"It was only one creature, guys," said another man.
He was shorter but brawny. He had a massive shield on his back and a sword attached to his waist. He wore silver heavy-plated armour.
The guy on the ground got up teary-eyed and looked at the group.
"What the fuck is going on!"
The Brawny man looks over at us.
"The eclipse has chosen you; welcome to your new life."
