For days he had walked forward, although he had long lost the ability to feel fatigue, he was getting tired mentally. Sirus had seen nothing but black snow for years, and ever since the sun turned black, the sky had been perpetually colored a very dark shade of ominous grey.
He had nowhere left to go, humanity and every other kind of life was wiped out a few centuries ago, he could barely even remember how the world looked like before the First Flood.
Now, all was left was him, the blackness that surrounded the world, and the corrupted souls of life that had once been abundant in a time long forgotten. The world was unsalvagable, not even divine power could bring it back.
'Maybe I should to go to space...' he thought. It wasn't something he had though of just now, he had already tried it, and yet no matter how hard he had tried he just couldn't jump to outer space. 'Maybe, just maybe, if I pile a tower of snow high enough I might just be able to reach it... so the---'
A loud rumble of the earth, followed by a sudden explosion from below the ground had rudely interrupted his thoughts. A huge pillar of snow rose from the earth, while chunks of black ice rained from the sky.
Seeing a chunk of black ice around 30 times his size about to drop down on him, Sirus casually smacked it away with the back of his hand, causing it to shatter into countless tiny little pieces, broken like a shard of thin glass.
Instead of focusing his attention to the other chunks of falling ice, his eyes were glued to the creature that crawled out of the ground.
A long centipide-like body had come out of the ground, its width was around 20 meters while its body which had yet to fully appear was already past 80 meters in length. Its body was pitch black and its back was covered by a thick carapace, with an exposed spine with sharp edges running down the middle. On the sides were countless legs, sharpened like blades, but the most grotesque part of the creature had to be the deformed humanoid heads and torsos that seemed to have been forcefully blended together on its lower body, their disfigured mouths realeasing wails of agony.

Sirus looked at the creature as it slithered towards him, his expression completely hidden by the tattered black hood on his head. Just a few centimeters away from Sirus, the gotesque centipide-like creature that was dripping with a black viscous liquid suddenly stopped its movements. It almost seemed tame in front of Sirus.
"I see your names, I hear your soul, I feel your suffering," he said in a sorrowful tone as he brought he placed his hand on the creature's head. "Don't worry, I hope you find a better place than this. Somewhere fun hopefully."
Just as Sirus finished his words, he retracted his hand from the black creature he had referred to as the Tainted.
Several cuts appeared on the black creature's front running all the way down to the end of its body, a fountain of black liquid, that could be called its blood sprayed everywhere, creating a lake of blackness as it fell to the ground, unmoving, its body cut into several long strips.
Whatever had happened to the creature couldn't have been considered as death as the creature itself was something created by the manifestation of the desceased.
Sirus always felt uncomfortable everytime he faced a Tainted, as he could see them, and their calls of freedom, not even knowing they had long since died. He shook his head. removing the unnecessary thoughts from his mind.
Then... just before he was about to continue on his way, several more rumbles came from the ground below.

......
........
In the wasteland of infinite black snow, on a tower made out of the corpses of different black deformed creatures, Sirus sat down crossed leg. He had given up on trying to jump to space, for now.
Preparing to jump back down to continue his fruitless search, a sudden laugh resounded from behind him, making the hair on his body stand on end.
At first he needed to be sure, touching his lips and confirming they were shut.
He looked behind seeing a black void, something that had darkness even surpassing than that of death itself, it simply existed there, tearing at the space around it.
Staring curiously at the hole, he got closer.
"Found you!" a voice said, coming from inside the darkness, a hand suddenly launched out, grabbing Sirus by the collar before forcefully dragging him into the void.
