PREPARATION

Santiago woke up the next morning and the first thing he did was check his email and see if the script had arrived, even before he washed his mouth, that was how great his enthusiasm was, however, the script had not arrived.

A little disappointed, he put the computer aside and went to wash his mouth, take a shower and change his clothes, to go have breakfast. It was the weekend, so he didn't have classes, so he decided to walk for a while after breakfast.

He didn't go to any specific place, he just walked aimlessly, he just wanted to clear his mind a bit, because he was too excited about the series in which he would participate.

After about 30 minutes of walking, he arrived at a park in front of the beach, being a weekend and with good weather, the beach was crowded. You could see families enjoying the sea, beautiful women taking advantage of the sun and even men playing Americano in the sand.

The park that Santiago was in was also busy, several were playing on the basketball court, and there were also some skaters on the other side of the park. Santiago leaned back on a nearby bench and looked at everyone, but he really wasn't looking at anyone, because his gaze was lost, he was just daydreaming.

Little time passed and waking up from his trance, he returned home. She checked the email again, but still didn't receive the script, so she put the computer aside and preferred to go train at the gym.

Once at the gym, he approached the front desk wanting to sign up for the martial arts program, with the goal of preparing for the role of Donnal in the Fighters series.

Since filming would start a month later, he had a considerate amount of time to learn the basics and give the best performance. Since it would be more of a learning course than a training, the gym asked to pay extra.

Santiago did not bother with the request, he knew that what he was asking for was more demanding than just supervising a training session and it did not seem very expensive to him either, the gym charged $2,000 for a month of training and Santiago was asked for $2,500.

It's not that $2,500 wasn't money, just that, compared to the service received, he thought it wasn't a huge amount. After finishing all the registration paperwork, he started the training.

First he started with stretching, a bit of cardio and weights, then he started his mixed martial arts course. The trainer in charge of him taught him the basics of boxing and jiujitsu, the possible situations that he faces in a fight and the possible movements to overcome those situations.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Obviously it was only basic and superficial, since it is not something that can be learned in a month, much less in a day, however, for Santiago, even the little he could learn would be a great gain for his performance.

After finishing training and getting home, he checked his email again and then found the script he had been waiting for so long. Since the Donnal character he was going to play has considerable input, the script he received was a bit lengthy.

He downloaded the file and after taking a bath, he went back outside and printed the entire script, even bound it like a book, since it was his first script. She wanted to put her all into this, so she promptly returned home and started practicing.

Santiago was committed to the extreme, he attended his classes, he practiced his role in his free time and he trained physically every day. Especially the latter, not only was he learning how to perform in the Octagon like a fighter, but his physical condition was better than ever.

His only regret was that, due to the confidentiality of the series, he could not practice his dialogues and acting with other people, he could not let someone know relevant information about the series or he would face serious consequences.

For this reason, he would only practice in front of the mirror in his room and would not leave the script out of his sight when he was out of his room. After a few weeks, John called him.

He omitted any extra words and went straight to the point after saying hello. Basically, they would advance the filming a week, so they would start in two days.

Upon hearing this news, Santiago was excited, he could finally participate in the filming of a television series and really start living his dream. This would be his first step, but at the same time a big step. Without fear, but with enthusiasm he could only think of an incredible future.

The date for the start of filming arrived and Santiago had arrived in advance at the channel 4 filming set, being one of the first to arrive, which made a good first impression.

This seemed like a small detail, but it really wasn't, most of the actors and actresses who reach a role of relative relevance, tend to behave arrogantly, they start with not meeting the schedules, then demands in small things and some reach the point of I don't return from being idiots.

Although Santiago is a rookie making his debut, the role he plays can be considered as of medium importance in this production, not to mention that his fees are high for his first job, it would not be strange for an actor with these conditions to get everything. to the head.

However, what they did not know was that Santiago was only anxious to act and achieve the first step of his dream. For him this industry was not his ticket to fame and money, he just wanted to bring joy to others with his performance, as countless actors had done for him.

It was a genuine feeling, he certainly wouldn't live on good will, clearly he was aware that he needed to work for money and recognition, however, that was not his main objective.
