Oh. That was... a lot of changes.
And Lance was going to use them all.
The enemies were still approaching, weapons at the ready, Special Abilities activating--

He reached out, searching for minds--
[Mind Attack blocked!]
No. He refused to allow that to happen.
[Mind Attack leveled up by 2!]
He pushed harder, pulling on the flow of mana that he could now feel in the air, pushing more charge into that [Mind Attack].
And it succeeded.
There was a horrible ripping sound in the air as one of their enemies' head exploded like a watermelon hit with a hammer, pieces flying everywhere while their body slumped forward before collapsing to the ground, twitching slightly as they died. Their gun clattered away from the corpse and went sliding down the side of the building. A moment later, Jacob shot off a few rounds after it, the sudden movement startling him. At least no-one seemed to be trying to kill anyone else right now; everyone just looked around confusedly at what had happened.

Lance pushed more charge--no, more mana--into his [Mindread], searching for his enemies.
"I'm going to fucking kill you all!" the first man shouted out loud.
Lance wasn't waiting for an answer this time though, he'd already charged up another use of Mana Manipulation and launched himself forward towards their attackers, leaping into their midst before any of them could react and striking out with his mind again before they could defend themselves.
His thoughts were a flurry of movement: anger—fury, even; confusion; fear; pain; regret; and above it all, hatred like he had never known before. There was a sense of loss and grief, but it was tinged with a feeling of power as well; a kind of pride that filled him from head to toe in those brief instants when their minds came within range of his attack. They couldn't see his eyes since his face was turned away slightly as he brought his attack down upon them--neither of them ever expected the blow coming.
Lance expended every bit of mana left available to his Special Ability, supercharging two [Mind Attacks] and unleashing them upon the remaining two enemies.
Both of these men died just like the first one did—the same ripping sound accompanied by pieces flying everywhere; one's body slumping over while the other collapsed on the ground twitching.
Mind Attack was strong, now.
