Chapter 12: Attoryuu

“Thank you for this news.” Emperor Len of Xerpor glared at the letter in his hand as he waved the Blitzbird caretaker.

‘Has that bastard in Tyran declared war? It shouldn’t be but it doesn’t matter, I was planning to go to war for years, thankfully it’s only premature by a week it works. Still, does he have to go for my Imperial Academy… Haaa.. No matter, the army of five thousand that he sent will be easily destroyed by our guardian.’

“Send our elite cavalry, anything else won’t reach there in type.” He looked to the leader of the cavalry, Jasper. “Yes, Your Majesty” He bowed and left.

Gabriel looked at the city in front of him, all the lights were off and the people were nowhere to be seen. “Sir, it seems that they knew about us, but that won’t matter. The teachers only number several tens. Magicians are powerful, but not enough to kill all of us!” The soldier reported.

“Good! Sagittarius Formation! Bows ready! Fire Arrows ready!” Gabriel looked around. Once he saw everyone was ready he shouted “Launch!”

*Whoosh*

The burning arrows from five thousand people lit up the bright night as if the sun was burning. Suddenly, the soldiers looked at the arrows who looked like they were getting closer. Then one of the soldiers fell down, with an arrow in his skull, then another and another. The arrows they shot returned to them!

“Who dares attack the city of Aurahill, the city I, Attoryuu, am the guardian of?” The deep archaic voice asked. Seeing that no one responded, it appeared. Attoryuu, a majestic purple-coloured dragon with a long and scaly body. “Is noone going to answer? Perhaps I, Attoryuu, am not worthy of your time?”

Gabriel looked at his men, only about one thousand survived of the five thousand, most of them already started to burn.

“Run little children, run!” The dragon laughed and began to fly towards Tyran.

Gabriel stared at the distant dragon, whose body had already turned small despite the size of it.

‘This is impossible! It's only a legend! A dead legend! Also, that direction.. Is it not the capital!?’ He quickly shouted “Retreat! Run! Run! Run! Towards our capital!” He spurred his horse and quickly galloped, chasing the dragons silhouette.

“Enemies are gone. Enemies are gone. Please proceed with caution. Repeat. Enemies are gone, please proceed with caution.” The robotic voice filled the university again, only this time, everyone relaxed.

“Wow, that was scary, thank the gods that we have Attoryuu protecting us!” Amelia hugged Azura and smiled. ‘So those are the dragon’s that exist in this world? Hah, too weak, those Void Dragons that I fought in my universe were hundreds of times bigger and thousands of times stronger.’ Azura also smiled, though, not a relieved smile like Amelias.. More like a smiling demon whose plan worked.

The door to the bunker opened and the students ran outside. It was total chaos as the students pushed and pulled, trying to get out. “Students, please calm down, come out in an orderly fashion!” A clear, yet old voice broke the loud chaos. Everyone immediately stopped and acted as if they had never been pushing, shoving or even shouting. The calmly walked outside.

When Azura finally walked out of the bunker she saw an old man flying on what seemed to be a cloud, that is, to other people. What she saw was ‘Mana’ shaped to become a cloud. ‘It seems that the people of this world aren’t too stupid.’ She was impressed a civilization like this could even figure out flight.
