Chapter 10: Attack

Chapter 10: Attack

Azura looked at the single sheet in front of her. ‘Is this some kind of joke?’ She looked at it and saw nothing else at all, not even anything in the back.

It just said “Thank you for participating in our magic exams, this written exam is only a show to make it look harder than it is.” Azura looked at the teacher and only saw her give her a warm smile. “Welcome to the Imperial University of Xerpors Magicians, miss Azura.”

*BANG*

“What rubbish is this! My son died and all I get is: The Prince is dead, pursuing the killer. Bastards! Explain this at once!” The man sitting on the throne roared at the Blitzbird caretakers.

“Y..Your Majesty, there were many Blitzbirds sent with the exact same message, only one had the signature. I.. It was Lord Gabriel of the Night Legion!” The caretaker was completely terrified, this man had absolute control over his life, therefore he revealed everything. “There was only one other message: Female, 16 years, Azure eyes, Azure hair, name: Azura.”

The Emperor of Tyran stared at the scroll which contained a list of Azura’s features and a similar drawing resembling her. “Find her! Send all of our units! Send everything! Find, me, that, girl!” The Emperor roared his heart out. The Blitzbird caretakers immediately bowed and ran out, afraid to be in that room any longer.

‘I will tear this girl apart! Daring to kill my son! Only… Which Empire would send her to assassinate my son.’ The Emperor sighed and put his head into his hands.’Oh Frederick, although you were not favoured, you are my son. I will avenge you, even if it means war with another Empire.’ He sighed and looked at the big map laid down on the floor. Tyran was being surrounded by red, and even some of its border territories were completely red.

One week later, Xerpor-Tyran border.

The border manager that had helped Azura stared at the approaching army of several thousand. He quickly ran to signal the alarm.

*DING*

*DING*

*DING*

*DING*

*DI--*

The fifth bell was stopped midway as the manager lay on the ground, an arrow piercing his eye and sticking into the wood behind him. The soldiers all stared at their manager, who was stuck in the wall, an arrow through his eye.

“Q.. Quick! Send a Blitzbird to the Imperial University and the Imperial Capital!” The soldiers quickly rushed to arm themselves with any bows they could find. “F.. Fire! Water Magicians!” It was total anarchy on the border wall.

*BOOM*

The whole wall started shaking and crumbling as if an earthquake had hit the wall directly. “There! The unicorn! Shoot!!” The man who shouted pointed at the unicorn, which had its horn inside the ground. As the arrows flew towards it, it didn't move. *Whoosh* A bright blue forcefield appeared the moment the arrows neared the unicorn. Gabriel glared at the soldiers on the wall and took out his own bow.

He took one of the arrows which had been shot at the unicorn and drew the bow. It looked like it would snap at any moment. He started producing black light and the arrow felt as light as a feather. Release. The arrow flew past the speed of sound as it pierced the sound barrier everyone heard a *Boom* but when they looked around, they only saw the soldier who spotted the unicorn, with his head open and his brains everywhere on the walls.

Gabriel glared at them one more time and looked back to his army which he had taken from several garrisons. “Avenge the Prince! Kill the Assassin! For Tyran!” He stated chanting, along with the rest of the army. “Charge!” Gabriel took out his jet black sword and started running at speeds which would allow him to be faster than any modern car. “You shall all die for killing our Prince!”
