"Ugh, that hurts like hell," Jayden barely murmured, his voice groaning. "What is this...?"
He opened his eyes to see a familiar scene. He was in the garden of his family, their mansion stood tall as he remembered it. But everything seemed blurry like even air could pass through him.
'This feels like a dream' he thought, trying to gasp the situation in front of him.
His thoughts were stopped by the laughter of a small kid, around his age, playfully running through the flowers. The boy was followed by a woman who seemed to be his mother, but Jayden couldn't grasp her features, her traits were in a total blur but strangely, he could very well see the little boy.
Dark hair with and deep blue eyes, he strongly resembled someone from his family, but he had never seen him before.
The strange scene flashed with a blink of light, and Jayden saw the boy who resembled a teenager at that time, around 14 years old. He was holding a wooden sword, doing arduous training by hitting a wooden dummy and practicing various movement and sword techniques at the same time.
His resilience was inspiring for Jayden. He felt that he watched him for hours, doing the same maneuvers over and over again, a testament to the intense values he put over the combat basics.
"Ender!" a voice entered into Jayden's ears. "It's lunchtime, take a short break, will you?"
The voice of a person who resembled the same woman figure he'd seen previously called but he couldn't find more about it as his dream shattered instantly and he opened his eyes, for real this time.
"Ugh! It hurts like hell" he groaned watching his entire left arm, shoulder, and chest covered with white bandages. 'What is this place?' he thought as he saw the unknown surroundings.
Jayden lay down in a small, almost broken bed, and the interior of that space seemed to be the only room in what looked like a cramped hutt.
[ Unawakened forest wolf killed, +4 Willpower ]
The system's transparent blue screen popped up on his face all of a sudden.
'Again Willpower...what is this all about?' he thought. 'When Father told me about stats, he didn't mention anything about this.'
As per Jayden's small understanding, one can receive additional stats only after defeating an awakened being, so why he received Willpower for defeating the unawakened wolf was a mystery to him.

'So the new stats are added to Willpower but...' he commented internally while watching the transparent status.
With a sudden idea, Jayden focused his thoughts for several moments on Willpower, trying to find more things about it. He remembered that the system gave him a detailed projection of Strenght and Mana's status, and he wanted to see if something could be done for Willpower.
[Denied information! Level to low]
Jayden was dumbfounded, the system core denied displaying any information about it, intriguing him, even more to find out what's behind it and how the Willpower status could help him in the future.
"Welp, I can put this aside for now," he said with a low voice and then scouted again the room to get up.
Trying to not think about the pain, Jayden managed to get up with hard movements. He felt his body sore all over with constant pain from the wounds he had all over his body.
"Damn, I messed up big time," he voice out, memories of him fighting that wolf and barely escaping with his life surged out.
Jayden left the room just to see the view he had seen when Elio was with him. His prediction came through as he realized instantly when he woke up that Silas found him.
"If you didn't find me old man, I swear to dear God that I would come back to haunt you" he chuckled with a sense of relief.
"Is that so?" a voice came right from behind, startling Jayden. "Then maybe I should've let you die there, you little punk."
Jayden turned around to see Silas with his back facing an old but enormous tree. With his body covered by the tree shadow, he was silently smoking a cigarette, probably waiting for Jayden to wake up.
With a flash, he was right in front of Jayden. "You have talent in everything little boy," he said, praising Jayden. "But when I say everything. I mean that you have the talent to be the most stupid child I've ever seen in my entire life and believe me, I'm much older than I look."
Jayden was surprised when he heard Silas in the first part, just to be brought back to reality in an instant. He couldn't deny that he had a hope for Silas to truly praise him, but his hopes were short-lived.
"Hmpf! Don't start lecturing me, you old fart," he shouted back at Silas. "I prefer to be like this than act like a little girl in her period. You're mad at everyone and I truly believe you forgot even for what you are upset for.
Silas watched the kid in disbelief. Nobody, not even his father, his son, or his enemies spoke to him like that, and there he was, a little kid still with snot under his nose, disrespecting him.
"What did you say? you small purple fuck! He roared at Jayden, lifting him by his collar. "Do you believe me when I say that I will slap you to death?"
"Shut your mouth!" Jayden retorted back in an instant. "Do you think I'm afraid of you? Old fossil. Just bring it!"
