Chapter 6: Classic, Classic
Noire City, South Gate
The guards standing with their weapon held upright, forming patrols and watches. Skyriders flew in the sky, watching any signs of threat. Not even fly could past without reporting to the guards.
Two young squires, suggested by their uniform, are currently on their guard duty inside one of the turret boxes. One of the young squire, a woman polishing her arsenal (Author Note: Bad choice of word) without leaving a speck of dust. The other squire, a man with body any soldier could dream of, looking confused by the other squire action,
“Jean, that knife has an auto-cleaning function you know.” Said the other squire.
“And that’s why I clean it again.” Replied the woman with confident.
“Do you understand the meaning of ‘auto-cleaning’?”
“Of course. It means this knife can cleans an auto right? But I wonder, what is an auto?”
“You need help.”
As the man decided to leave the young woman alone with her knife, The post door opened. The two squires stood up in reflex after seeing the man opening the door.
“”Captain!”” Said both of them with a salute.
“Hands down kiddo, we’re in the game now. No need for formality.” The man sat on an empty chair beside the turret “Care to explain the situation? Wife forbid login last week.”
The two squire smiled and sat too. Jean passed a tablet to her captain.
“Goblins, rumors, what’s so spe…ahh” The captain expression turned a bit serious.
The two squires couldn’t help but noticed the change in their captain expression. An expression rarely seen on the face of a veteran.
“Is there something on your mind captain?” Jean asked.
“Well, there is…” The old man put the report on the table “The goblin were said to come from the mountain.” He drew a crude map on the back of the paper. “And according to the report and diagnosis on the remains of last scout party, any people came near the mountain has been killed by ‘fear’.”
“Maybe the scout is just a bunch of coward.” The big squire commented.
“Watch your mouth kid. The scout party is composed by some of the bravest man and woman I ever know. Some goblins and wargs won’t scare them to death.“ The man expression turned more serious “But the worrying thing is not the goblins. This is not the first scout party sent to the mountain. ”
“Yeah, it weird when the past report said the mountain range is empty and suddenly a tribe of goblins appeared.” The woman finally finished cleaning her dagger.
“Could it be they came from the mainland?” said the other squire.
“It’s impossible. Goblins are not smart enough to cross the sea. So it’s either our scout party coincidentally contracted an eye disease…” The old man looked at the report again “…or someone performed a summoning ritual.”
The old man and his squires understood the meaning of summoning ritual. Summoning itself is pretty common and many people could do it. But the report said ‘Tribes’, which mean the person behind the summoning ritual have the ability to summon a whole tribe with different castes of goblin.
In short, the summoner is not a common person.
“Both of you keep your eyes open to the mountains. I will discuss this matter with the higher-ups.”

“Yes! Captain!” both of them stood up and saluted their captain.
Gersane Training Field
“Sooo… What is this ‘Dawn Training’. I understand the obsession with the mysterious name. But is it necessary?” Sylver asked.
“It is necessary. You see master, you are not a human.” Kyrie answered “If you entered through the same way as human, there’s a chance your curse might trigger even after the system has changed to meet your need.”
“Wait. Doesn’t this mean I’m cheating?”
“Nope. If you entered the game normally then it’s considered cheating.” Kyrie waved her hand while chanting some unknown word. After the incantation is completed, A table with several papers and figurines appeared. The figurines are a collection of creatures seemingly humanoid in nature. There’s a normal human to the fearsome ogre scattered across the table.
“Is this the race available in ‘Progress’?”
“Yes, from the jack of all trade human, forest-friendly elf, and even the towering troll.” Kyrie took a figurine with the ‘?’ symbol and gave it to Sylver “this is your race figurine.”
Sylver received the ‘?’ shaped figurine and look at it with curiosity. He already knew why the figurine is not shaped like him, Anna, or Aqua. In the base of the figure, he find a sentence written in English.
“The unknown with no home, Athanatos.”
“Correct, your race is an exception of exception. The only thing you have in common with your fellow Athanatos is your unknownness and your home.”
“And does this related to the ‘Dawn Training’ you mentioned earlier?”
Kyrie simply nodded.
“I see. Then, can we begin the training? I think it’s better if we quickly finished this training.”
“You’re are an impatient to play. Right master?”
“Of course!”
“Then before we begin. Please look at this mirror.” Kyrie took out a mirror from the air and put it in front of Sylver.
The moment Sylver saw his reflection in the mirror, he passed out.
“Hah.. even an immortal will passed out after seeing [The Mirror of Souls]. Good thing this is something expected.” Kyrie sat down beside Sylver and then played with his long hair “Hmm, so smooth.”
Author Note :
Hello! Sorry for the unannounced hiatus and the short chapter. Real life and laziness took the better of me.
As you can see, I decided to continue the story. You might see some discrepancy between earlier chapter and this one. Because I changed few(many) things in the plot, and this make it very slow with lots of exposition.
If you somehow feel this chapter is lower in quality. It’s because I didn’t proofread and edit only a few things. And again I’m sorry.
Now I want to give a choice for the reader regarding the content of the next chapter. The choice are:
1. Sylver Training
2. The trio in the dojo
3. Character summary (And maybe stats)
4. Your suggestion
Again, I apologize for the chapter. If you like this webnovel, feel free to review and give it a rating. If you don’t like it, please give me a review.
