Blinking in place, Lui Wing tried to process what had just happened. Shaking his head, he inhaled but gagged, forgetting the rancid smell of the place. This experience will make him see frogs and toads from another view.
Looking down at his hand, Lui Wing carefully handled the red and golden silk bag. Pulling the two golden ropes that held the bag’s opening closed, Lui Wing looked down into the bag but couldn’t see anything.
“Could this be a storage bag? “
Reaching in the bag, Lui Wing felt a hard, smooth, rectangular object that fit into his palm. Pulling it out, he realized it was a phone.
“Is there something special about this phone?”
Bringing the phone closer and turning the phone so that the back faced Lui Wing, there was a cauldron symbol with coins.
Lui Wing quickly turned around, looking for the toad and sweating nervously, thinking it was cursed.
When nothing happened, he looked back at the phone and pressed the power button to turn it on. As soon as the phone turned on, there was a short animation of the calamity golden toad in baby form. It showed the toad falling and a countdown to 0%; words popped up and said goodbye.
“System, is this phone dead?” Lui Wing questioned.
[Yes.]
“How do I charge the phone? There’s no charger. Did you forget to give me a charger in the bag?”
[...]
“You forgot, didn’t... ARRRGH!”
Just as Lui Wing was about to finish his sentence, he felt an electrical current throughout his body, worse than the first time. Falling to the floor, he twitched with the phone in his hand.
The phone lit up, and slowly the percentage went up to 100%. Once it was done, Lui Wing was wheezing.
“You...you… sadist System, what was that for?”
[Didn’t you want it to be charged?]
“...”
[Well, anyway, the System has been activated. You, my new host, must add a building to the program within 24 hours. If the host fails, the System will be removed from you, and the memory of this moment will forever be erased….] The System stated.
“The system will be removed if I don't follow through?” Lui Wing repeated to himself. After hearing that reply, Lui Wing’s mouth dropped, raising his eyebrows. Who wouldn’t want to comply with the quest given? The ultimate laws supposedly created all systems.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“I'm currently in this building. Can this one be added?” Lui Wing asked telepathically, while trying to sit up.
[Scanning the building, please wait…. the building currently has no owner…. Found an unclaimed deed to the building.]
A bright light shot from his forehead as it continued scanning the building.
[Would the host like to claim this building as your own?]
“Yes!!” I wouldn’t have to worry about finding a place to live.
[Authorization was set. The host now owns the building. Does the host want to add this building to the database? Please confirm.]
Lui Wing confirmed right away.
[Adding the building to the database was successful. Adjusting the layout of the building…. Please choose the layout settings that you want.]
A Holographic screen popped in front of him. Hmmm…
Looking at the choices given, Lui Paused, tapping his chin. Then, he switched his mind to business mode, thinking about the best possible way to increase revenue.
“Are these all the options available?”
[What do you mean? Do you have another idea for a design?]
“Would like to have a layout similar to an academy based on Battle Summoners here on this planet.”
[An academy… What is an academy?]
Shocked by the question, Lui Wing described the best description possible. Wasn’t Systems supposed to be all-knowing?
“It is a building with multiple learning environments that can help one grow in skills and knowledge. In addition, depending on the type of academy, one can buy or sell unique items inside it, housing facilities as dorms for students to stay, and even serving food.” Lui Wing responded.
[Interesting concept…. May I scan the host’s memories to get a better picture to help merge it with the concepts of this Federation?]
Confirming the request, Lui Wing felt a tickle sensation in his mind as the System did its thing. Hmmm, maybe the option didn’t turn up due to this building not fully functioning as an academy because of this building was just rooms placed together in an unorganized manor.
The layout made the academy function or work with the limited amount of essence crystals invested into it. They could have invested more if the previous host and the older man had more essence crystals.
[Ding!]
[Layouts have been adjusted to fit the description of an academy.]
The previous list went away, and in its place stood a new list. Taking his time, Lui Wing studied and pondered what layout would be best. After clicking his choice, the screen went away. Lui Wing’s chosen plan was where one could keep opening wings to the main building at the cost of money. He would have to go to a layout page in the System and select what type of room it would be, and the area would be converted into a hallway or room. Lui wing can even upgrade rooms too to make it better quality.
[Would you like to keep the items and furniture in the building, or would you prefer to buy the things in the System shop?]
“I would keep everything except for the trash. I want to see everything before deciding to get rid of items.”
“Is there a way where I can put the items in storage so it would be easier to sort and move the things I want out?”
[Yes, as of the current layout, there is a small storage area where I can put all the items, but after the reconfiguration process, the rooms will be placed properly where the building layout makes sense.]
[Do you wish to proceed?]
“Yes,” answered Lui Wing.
[Changing layout is in working process; please wait.]
While the System was transfiguring, the store furniture and items flew in a tornado in the main room. After that, every speck of trash, dirt, or non-furniture object started to disintegrate into nothingness.
While the trash was disintegrating, a bright holographic jaded org came out of the ground and emitted light beams. Once the rays landed on the walls or floor surfaces, they would clean that area and transform it into brand new.
The trend continued until the entire building was polished and free of dirt and trash. Then, rooms started rearranging to where the overall building layout made sense if one were to walk about.
Walking outside, Lui Wing noticed a significant improvement, even the outside appearance of the building looked new. At first, one could tell that the building was old and not kept in good shape, but after the System had done its thing, it looked like a new building. There was no difference between the walls being made and extended at different times. The System managed and actually transitioned the wildlife surrounding the building into a garden.
[The layout process is finished.] Said the System.
