Chapter 3 - Holy mother of-

Me: “Where the heck am I?”

As the light of the teleportation circle fated, I gazed at my new surrounding. I noticed that I was on a mountain overlooking the sea. I looked up to see the four moons and the two black ecliptic suns unique to the demon continent.

Me: “Well at least I’m still on the demon continent.”

As I looked down I noticed that I was close to Count Andromalius’s territory. The Andromalius ’s are a lower class noble house. From what I know, they are responsible for managing the ancient demon lords tomb. The people from the Andromalius house can supposedly bring back any thieves and punish them.

Me: “Sigh, I might as well walk over to the Andromalius estate, whatever happens, happens.”

I started walking down along the mountain path toward the mansion, when I heard a sound. I turned around to see what made the noise.

Me: “Who’s there?”

I started to walk faster, eventually breaking out into a run. I turned around again to see an elephant like creature with horns and tusks on his head. It had grey like thick skin, with bulging muscles; the creature was following me and it looked hungry.

Me: “Shit it’s a Behemoth!!!”

The demonic beast known for its incredible brute strength came charging at me from behind, with every step getting closer and closer.

Me: “I’m going to die, I’m going to die, I’m going to die.”

As the beast quickly approached me, its foul breath permeating the air, I noticed the ravenous look in its eyes. Before I could get any further it pounced on me. The behemoth opened its mouth wide to take a bite out of my head with its double lined jaw of teenth.

Me: “Goodbye cruel world!”

???:“Honestly you’re a disgrace of the royal lineage!”

Before I could become the meal for the demonic beast it stopped. I started to notice lines on the beast’s face. The flesh started to rot off the beast, before becoming dry dust like particles in the air. After, what seemed like an instant all that was left of the beast was the mammoth like bones.

Me:“What in the world?!?”

???:“To not even be able to deal with this level of demonic beast, you weakling.”

I crawled out from under the behemoth’s skeleton to see a woman in her mid thirties, dressed in white embroidered dress. She had an average  height, standing at 5'6.She had long curly blonde hair that fell just a bit past her shoulders and as it went downward. She had beautiful double lidded night black eyes which seemed to glow and light up her surroundings.

Me: “Who are you? Why did you save me? No even better, what did you do to the behemoth?”

The women smiled, gazing into my eye’s with a sad smile.

???:“My I can’t tell you who I am.”

Me:“Not even your name?”

The women pondered for a moment before replying to me.

???:“I can’t answer any of your questions in too much detail. For one, my name is Lailah. The reason why I saves you was because it is my duty to insure you lived. Third question, how I killed the beast, I used my personal ability. You do know what a personal ability is right?”

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

I shook my head. I had no idea what the women was talking about.  Duty to save me? Personal ability? I had no idea what was going on…

Lailah: “Sigh, a personal ability is a unique ability pertaining to an individual. Unlike skills these abilities cannot be learned but passed on. No two people have the same ability. They’re abilities which are similar but vary in intensity  duration and potency. When abilities are passed on people with similar abilities will be strengthened instead of receiving the a new ability. People might have abilities with the same name, however their effects would be completely different. There are some rare cases where individuals are born with no abilities or with more than one ability. In most cases Unique abilities are useless, but for those with a high concentration of power or royal lineages unique abilities tend to be more useful or combat oriented. Did you get the gist of it?”

Me:“Yes.”

I glanced at the behemoth once more and shivered. The power that Lailah used to slay the behemoth must have been fearsome. I looked back at  Lailah curiously. She seemed to be smiling sadly at me.

Lailah:“I can’t stay for much longer, I will only answer one more questions. Make it quick, I am  running out of time.”

Me:“Then...what is your personal ability? Your ability must be quite something to kill the behemoth so quickly.”

Laila laughed, she looked at me with a prideful smile before replying:

Lailah: “My personal ability is conceptualizing time and realize it in the real world, now ironically we’re out of time.”

Lailah pointed to my right with a serious face.

Lailah: “Go that way and quickly, you will arrive at the Andromalius estate. When you arrive give them this note, they will help you unconditionally and will not treat you badly.”

I took the note from Lailah and nodded.

Me:“What will you do?”

Lailah:“I have to go back, now start walking.”

I nodded and started walking toward the direction Lailah pointed in.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Laylah whispered  in a low voice.

Lailah:“Goodbye Aleam, next time bring Charlore, i’d be nice to have a family chat”

Shocked I turned back to Lailah only to see a silver feather in the place she stood just moments ago.

Me: “No way, impossible!!!”
