Is this heaven? This white dullness on the edge of your mind, as comfortable as the moments between sleep and waking. Is this limbo? This infinite lines, filled with infinite souls. Always moving, and yet going nowhere. Or perhaps am I in hell. This madness of being stuck in my own mind, unable to do anything other than follow the soul in front of me.
I’m oddly content for dying in my 20s. I mean, I guess I’ve been prepared for it since the doctors never expected me to live past my childhood. Looking back, I was pretty blessed. I got quite a few years more than we expected, and had rich enough parents that allowed me to travel and study and learn whatever I wanted so long as it caught my interest. I’m sure they’re alright; my little brother is with them after all.
Well, maybe it’s due to what seems like an eternity doing nothing but ponder upon my situation in my mind. Even though I feel like I’ve spent so much time thinking, I dont think I’ve waited for very long at all. Either way, my mind and emotions feel sluggish.

I suppose it’s my turn now. A…. lottery? Do I just spin the wheel until a ball pops out? Is the afterlife really luck based? Or does karma or good deeds change the probabilities? I want to figure out how this system works, but I suppose it’s too late. It’s not like I can control my actions anyways.

[ ___ ] A soul summoning huh. It’s a rare one. And high enough grade that your mind wouldn’t be suppressed as usual huh. Fufu, perhaps you’ve had bad luck in your last life, or were you just a good person? Either way, you got quite lucky. Have fun now.
So the person behind the lottery wheel says as he (She? It? Do souls have gender?) examines the light gold ball that fell out. It’s quite frustrating not being able to ask any questions in such a situation. A light beneath me started glowing, ever brighter until it fully obscured my vision.
When it disappeared …
[ ___ ] “You can eat me so please, become a good dungeon lord!”
“Ha?“
... Ah, I can speak again.
