Chapter 2: And with it death

Author's notes: figured out how to actually segment so less ghetto lines now.

Second should I go back and add the fight sequence. I felt it would add more impact to leave it out, but the last chapter feels short to me. Let me know.

The boy awoke from the shadows of his mind. He sat up as his body cracked and popped, his head hurting as he looked around. The boy was surprised by the bright light and loud constant noises, a stark contrast to the usual. As his eyes adjusted he saw the forest outside the cave was ablaze and claw marks marked the entrance. The boy pulled himself to his feet and rushed out to look. The calm scenery from before was utterly destroyed with splinters being the main survivors from what must have been a massive battle. A cold chill crept down his side and a thought half formed brought pure terror to his mind. He yelled out suddenly "Fenrir! Fenrir!!!! Where are you!!" His eyes half crazed as he looked around for the only family he had ever known. Seeing only blood and bodies further in the dark, and receiving no reply, only the echo of his voice reflected back at him. The boys lost hope his eyes reflecting only despair as his knees hit the grass outside his home. He looked out into darkness and it crept closer inviting him into madness and rage, a promise of power.

Fenrir awoke in the far back of the caves where he had dragged his mangled body to watch over his son (the old wolf too proud to ever verbally admit it). He heard the man-cub scream out his name the total fear evident within it, but the wolf could not reply because the wound on its throat was still not healed from the battle. The old wolf dragged itself forward out of the cave, it body barely responding, dragging behind him. He was about to make a sound to get the man-cub's attention when he noticed baleful aura rising from his son's back, the aura so black it caused even the fire to be stifled. Fenrir made as much noise as he could through his cuts, and the entity in front of him turned to look back at him. Whatever it was it wasn't the man-cub! Fenrir took a battle stance ready to fight the one he raised into submission if need be, and if the corruption was too much, death

The boy heard a sound from behind him, even through the enticing music of power and revenge that the darkness offered. He saw a figure silhouetted against the fire ready to fight, the figure familiar. The boy knew this was no threat and that the figure only took this stance to protect him. The darkness receded into his pupils as the dark aura that had sorrounded him like a comforting pillow fell down, sinking into the earth. The boy didn't notice the grass die and the fire go out as soon as he lost the control of the aura. The boy's cheeks became wet with tears and he bawled as he rushed to hug his father and teacher.
