[Lore Break] Magitech

[Lore Break] Magitech

"Whoa, this is a cool gun you have there, Mr. Razul!"

I hear Azel gushing while staring at the [Magic Pistol] sitting on the table. It's been a slow day in the [Force Blade's] and lately, I’ve been staying there to repair my [Plasma Staff] after several hunts with Wind. Speaking of whom, Wind is currently downstairs in a blacksmithing lesson with Azel's father. So right now, Razul and Arthur are in the [Magecrafting] section of the hall so they don't disturb him. Of course, I see Arthur snoring on the chair and assuming that he’s either offline for a while or he's really napping. However, it seems Azel has had his attention on Razul's gun lately, so I decided to join him after the repairs are done.

"Thanks, Azel. I just got this as my starting weapon when I first start the game on Day 1," Razul says. "I think I got it because I chose that strange [Mastery] called [Magitech Mastery] at the character creation."

"Magi... Tek?" I ask as I walk up to Azel and Razul. "Is it a special magical tool or weapon made in Volo?"

"Yeah. From what I can tell after I chose that [Mastery], I'm guessing that this world is themed not only on High Fantasy but also Science Fantasy. As in a mix of Science Fiction and Fantasy."

"Whoa... Is that genre even exists in novels?"

"Yeah! I read some of them in the school library and they're great reads," Azel explains. "I can recommend some good titles for you to read digitally if you like."

"Really? Thanks, Azel!" I'm glad that they're a novel fan, too. Otherwise, I won't able to discover other novels outside Seraph. "Oh! Speaking of which, do you have any books you borrowed from the library about Magitek or something?"

"Magitek, huh?"

I see them go through their inventory until they find a blue book and hand it to me.

"It's a book written by . I heard he's the one who invented the Magitek technology," Azel explains.

Wait, an inventor of Magitek wrote this book? Now, this I got to see!

> [Magitech]

>

> [Known as an evolution of magical tools for both magicians and mechanics, the Magic Technology or [Magitech] for short is a term used for any machines powered by magic. Using a special crystal called [Arcanic Crystal] as fuel, it powers a machine to create warp portals to short-ranged distances, create magical bullets for firearms, move special armor, and more.

>

> Most of the technology is found in the and the countries of and .]

"Wow! So [Magitech] is like version of the technology in real life, eh?" I ask. "That sounds awesome!"

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"Yeah. I am also interested in those kinds of magic tools when you show me your pistol," Azel added. "But I'm more interested at these [Arcanic Crystals]. They're not like the [Mana Crystals] or other elemental gems we used before."

"You're right about that," Razul says as he hands us his pistol. "In fact, from what my friend told me, he only used a few [Mana Crystals] to repair my gun. So I was wondering what would’ve happened if he had used [Arcanic Crystals] instead."

I see Azel flip through a few pages before they gasp and say, "Well, you can try. Unfortunately, getting them is easier said than done."

Razul and I take a quick peek at the book.

> [Arcanic Crystal]

>

> [A special mineral found in the , one of the [Mana Landmarks] of . Unlike [Mana Crystals], it contains a large amount of Mana in the crystal that is the same size as a [Human] and [Elf]'s [Mana] reserves. Due to this, the crystal will be either warm or too hot depending on how much Mana is left inside.

>

> The crystals can only be found in the rocks at the Arcus Woods as [Arcana Ore] due to the high amount of Mana gathered there. The location itself is also the reason why it is exclusive to it as the country of Signatio: the country is known for the large Mana Reserve in their lands and the forest is also a Mana Landmark.]

"Arcus... Woods?" I read it out loud. "Wait, you're saying that this crystal can only be found in a dungeon that isn't released yet?!"

"Until the next expansion after [Monarch of Light], I guess, yes," Azel answers. "I'm guessing they're not even going to release those crystals in stores until then, too."

"Yeah, I can see why. Anything else about the [Arcanic Crystal] or [Magitech]?"

"Well, there is a history on how this guy, Alto discovered those crystals and how [Magitech] came to be."

They flip a few more pages and show it to us once more.

> [Before its public discovery, the crystals were heavily guarded by and his cohorts due to his paranoia of people misusing the resources, including the Insignis race. However, in year 242, the crystals were discovered by in his journey to improve Lucidus's life. When he asked Seiryu about them, he was challenged out of pure rage by the alone. Eventually, he managed to win the bout and gave him a trading deal to calm him and cooperate with all races for the sake of Volo.

>

> Using the newly-named Arcanic Crystals, he invented the first two [Magitech] machines: the [Warp Elevator] that sends a person from one floor to another without the use of stairs and the [Mana Pistol], one of the first [Magic Firearms] that existed. After he revealed his inventions, Alto's [Magitech] concept eventually spread throughout the kingdom of and eventually, and .

>

> Because of this, Alto Bright became one of the knighted [Royal Magicians] and the [Magitech] technology became part of the countries' normal lives.]

"I see. So one of the [Mana Guardians] came in contact with Alto," I guess. "And calmed him when he discovered those [Arcanic Crystals] along with the trading deal."

Huh... Bai Hu even didn't mention this guy before...

"So without Alto Bright discovering those crystals, the [Mana Pistol] wouldn't exist," Razul says. "I say that he made a good discovery. Not to mention a good way for the developers to add in weapons that translates well to my airsoft skills."

"Yeah. Which makes me wonder what kind of [Magitech] items we might run into next."

"Well, it says that they're found around . Maybe we can find out once the expansion goes live?" Azel asks.

"Yeah," I say as I start imagining the possibilities of owning a [Magitech] item. "I would love that! I just hope Wind feels the same way."
