Chapter 33- An Arrogant conclusion

Chapter 33- An Arrogant conclusion

Author note: rough week. that's 2 weeks now with only 1 chapter T-T Back on schedule though and we'll definitely have two chapters. No side story again as I am going to start working on the new chapter now. If I can get it out by tomorrow then I'll definitely get 3 out. If not then guarantee one on friday.

Really like this title as it has 2 meanings. First a conclusion as in "end of an event" conclusion and second conclusion as in "judgement reached by reasoning" conclusion. Also if Sun Jiao gets a little agnsty, god I hope it doesn't come across like that, but if he does just don't hate him too much for it. He'll get over it I promise and he did just leave everything he knew behind and then find someone he really liked only to have her die. I'll try to keep it more ragey than agnsty in this next arc, but if it shows just trust that it will go away. Don't think it showed up in this chapter just something to chew on during the next arc.

A fierce look appeared on the hunchback man's face and with rage he tried to speak but coughed up blood instead. Turning his head to the right he glared at the direction of the Fatman before Sun Jiao twisted the blade and pulled it up through the hunchback man's head which split the top half of his body in two.

Sun Jiao had split the hunchback man in half and blood fountained out of the body. As the blood sprayed none of it fell onto Sun Jiao and infact even his blade was completely free of blood.

Instead the blood continued to spray and form a cloud above the body.

Noticing this Sun Jiao slashed the cloud, but the blade passed through it harmlessly.

The cloud quickly condensed into the shape of an egg. The egg burst open causing Sun Jiao to retreat as the "shell" of the blood egg sprayed blood everywhere. A vaguely bird shaped figure made up of blood flew up and out of the egg. It turned once more to look over the scene and then flew away.

The greyhounds hadn't stayed still during all this. Fatman, knowing a surprise attack wouldn't work, chose to flee as well and recalled the three sleek greyhounds to his body.

They ran quickly to the dried up form of the man and jumped into the tube they had came out of. Quickly the dried up belly returned to it's fat, plump shape with a jiggle that caused the tubes to pop out leaving unblemished skin behind.

The Fatman turned and jumped away in order to flee. As he fled he jumped from tree branch to tree branch.

Seeing this Sun Jiao's eyebrow twitched as he couldn't imagine how the branch supported the weight. A competition of speed however was in Sun Jiao's favor.

He began to jump forward, but stopped. Instead he moved back to the bodies of the assassins and collected them into his ring. Surprisingly the head of the first body wouldn't enter the ring, but the rest of the two bodies did.

Not wanting to leave the head behind Sun Jiao picked it up and began his chase.

After only a minute Sun Jiao was able to catch up to Fatman.

Fatman realized he couldn't lose Sun Jiao so he stopped running just as Sun Jiao caught up to him. The branch Fatman was on broke and he fell right as Sun Jiao's blade slashed through where he had been.

The movement skill Fatman had been using was only able to reduce his weight while moving, once the motion of the ocean stopped his weight would return.

As he fell to the ground Fatman wondered where the plan had gone wrong.

His partner, the hunchback, had infiltrated the third prince's faction as a scout and received news about Sun Yu's plan for her son to attack the second prince. He notified The Blood and then with a group had been dispatched to watch the cave.

The Blood anticipated which mercenary buildings the third prince would use and dispatched a handful of assassins to join in with them and kill the second prince and third prince. Everything had worked out and they had even been able to get the third princess as a bonus, but then the second prince who should only have been a weak first layer was able to quickly dispatch Po.

Fatman realized the moment the plan had failed was then. Po at full strength should have been able to keep his distance and avoid Sun Jiao even with Sun Jiao's speed. That coupled with his greyhounds attacking they could quickly have tired out Sun Jiao even without adding hunchback. Po was too confident and Sun Jiao was too ruthless.

No, Po couldn't be blamed.

Fatman had heard rumors about the second prince, but when he saw Sun Jiao cry over a lowly maid even he didn't think Sun Jiao would ruthlessly attack like he did.

After landing on the ground with the force of several elephants, Fatman took out a handful of red pills and a flagon of wine. He quickly consumed the pills and took a swig of wine.

Sun Jiao dropped down in front of him intending to attack, but stopped.

Fatman's already large body had begun to swell. The veins in his body were like dragons thrashing under his skin trying to break free. If possible he would have thrown his head back and laugh, but his neck was already too large to bend even before ballooning to the size of a normal man's waist and now his throat had closed.

Sun Jiao's eyebrow twitched for the second time today.

He quickly backed up and hid behind the largest tree he could find just in time for Fatman's body to explode. Blood shot out, but it wasn't a formless explosion like Sun Jiao thought. Instead dozens of greyhounds burst from the body and began running in every direction.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

Sun Jiao jumped out from behind the tree and began destroying the ones close to him with a slash. Several were destroyed, but there were too many of them and they were all going in different directions.

With a frown Sun Jiao watched the rest flee before looking down at the severed head of Po. At least he had managed to avenge Xu Rong's killer even if he couldn't kill his partners.

Storing his blade into his ring he then used the Sun and Cloud steps to return to the previous battlefield. On the way he calmed down and asked Xiaobo a question that had been bothering him.

Sun Jiao had been angry, but he didn't take pleasure in killing Po. Torture would be even worse in his opinion so he quickly interrupted Xiaobo.

Sun Jiao arrived just as Sun Jun was recovering.

Sun Jun heard him return and forced himself up. He hadn't been injured externally, but the damage to his puppets caused him to overexert himself and pass out.

Waking up the first thing he did was check on his sister. Her wounds had stopped bleeding, but she had lost a lot of blood. Her body was special though so it would take a lot more than that to kill her. If it wasn't for her Divine Body then she would have learned puppets like he did.

Seeing that the wounds had started to heal and she would be alright Sun Jun looked around for the two men that had been chasing him. Instead he found Sun Jiao carrying a severed head next to a huge pile of bodies. The sight was so shocking it almost caused Sun Jun to pass out again.

Sun Jiao didn't pay attention to the two while collected the bodies into his storage ring and thought about what had happened. Something was bugging him, but he couldn't quite place it. He felt like there was something he needed to do, but that he couldn't remember.

Unable to figure what it is he turned to his younger brother who was looking at him with fear in his eyes. Before Sun Jiao could say anything Xiaobo spoke first.

Sun Jiao wanted to rebuke, but everything Xiaobo said made sense. It was too much of a coincidence.

Sun Jiao withdrew his blade from his ring and spoke without bothering to hide his displeasure.

"How did you know where I was?"

Sun Jun flinched. He knew Sun Jiao's character as he had idolized Sun Jiao's ruthless and arrogant behavior. He also knew of Sun Jiao's cleverness. In fact the only reason he wasn't a prominent figure was because he relied too much on his sister's power and chose to spend his time pursuing pleasures instead of strength.

What surprised him was not that Sun Jiao suspected him, but that he bothered to ask. That caused him to think deeply about the situation. As a First Layer cultivator Sun Jun's ability to reason was comparable to an adults so while a normal 9 year old might not be able to see the whole picture Sun Jun could.

Two things bothered him about the situation. That Sun Jiao asked about how he knew and that he spared a boy that knew where he was.

A thought appeared in Sun Jun's mind that caused him to almost wet himself in fear.

'What if he let the kid go to trap us?'

Everything fell into place. He let the boy go in order to lure them out so he could kill them. Perhaps the people that attacked were outside of his calculations, but everything else fit. In that case he was asking because he already knew the answer and was testing him. That meant there was no use lying and he should tell the truth.

Sun Jun was smart, but after all he was still only a kid. Once he arrived at an answer he didn't think further. If he had then perhaps he would have asked himself why he was testing him and if he did then he would realize his theory didn't make sense. The plan he thought up was that Sun Jiao would lure them out to kill him. There was no need to test him.

Had he thought it through Sun Jun might have chose to lie instead of tell the truth.

Had he he lied instead of telling the truth then perhaps Sun Jiao wouldn't decide to kill him.

Instead he chose to tell the truth.
