Chapter 25- Victory causes Arrogance

Author note: Late chapter this week, but still will get another one Friday. A bit sick but still going to work so the show must go on! I honestly think I ended this chapter too short(2kwords), but the next chapter is going to contain all the pink lovey dovey stuff. OR IS IT!?! DUN DUN DUN. No but seriously it probably is.

When the four Amethyst Emperor Pythons appeared Sun Jiao had already been given permission by Xiaobo to use the Sun and Cloud steps to run away. By the time the Second Layer Python attacked he had finished activating it and jumped away just as the jaws snapped shut.

So without even knowing something was afoot Sun Jiao was still a step ahead and able to snatch victory from the jaws of the defeeted lizard known as the Amethyst Emperor Python.

Stopping a short distance away Sun Jiao looked back and a drop of sweat fell from his head. The fangs had been so close to him he had smelt the scent of death roll out from the Python's mouth.

The Second Layer Python turned it's head and gave a furious hiss. It had planned everything perfectly but the attack had still failed. This caused the Python to make an incorrect assumption that Sun Jiao had predicted the attack with some special sensing ability. How could it have known Sun Jiao would have moved even if it hadn't attacked?

Sun Jiao had come to harvest the Devil Midnight Lily not to fight these Pythons and so he quickly fled to another area in the valley using the Sun and Cloud steps.

The heavens blessed Sun Jiao not just in avoiding the first strike, but again as the Second Layer Python gave chase while abandoning the idea of another sneak attack. Had the Python tried again it would have had much more success.

Sun Jiao, now a distance away immediately began harvesting Lilies. He had just finished collecting the first Lily when the sound of crashing bushes alerted him to the approaching danger.

Xiaobo quickly spoke up.

Sun Jiao didn't have any confidence in the boasting Xiaobo and let out a sigh in complaint. He decided to let the matter go though due to more pressing matters.

The pressing matter was of course a loud hissing Python which lunged again and came at SUn Jiao with a terrifying speed. Sun Jiao had been ready for it though and quickly ran away. As he ran he could hear the charging python giving chase. As long as he could hear the crashing noise then he wasn't worried about another surprise attack and stopped to grab another lily before continuing to run.

However this game of cat and mouse didn't last long as too much time had passed and the Devil Midnight Lily could only be harvested for the hour after midnight.

At one exactly the flowers began to wilt, but the scene wasn't one of decay and sadness. As the flowers physically wilted the light of the flower remained and the purple glow of the petals closed around the red inner light which became the seed.

The purple lights lifted the red glowing seeds upward towards the sky gave the appearance of angels ascending to heaven.

These purple lights would continue to rise and carry the seeds into space. Most seeds would fall back to earth and burn up as their purple light wasn't strong enough to help them escape the planet's gravity.

A few would be sent adrift into space and even fewer would land on a comet or asteroid to take root. Only then, after taking root, would they be strong enough to survive re-entry and have a chance at finding a true home. These seeds that took root were passengers unable to change the course of their fate waiting for their ride to end. At the end of their ride what would await them at their new home? Would it be habitable or a wasteland of death?

Sun Jiao stood in the field watching the lights rise not knowing that a single heavenly blessed seed had been adrift for millions of years before it crashed into the planet creating the valley where it would spread it's roots.

The crashing sound neared again and Sun Jiao fled from the valley back the way he came. He paused at the top of the mountain and looked over the valley one more time.

The Python that had been chasing him stopped at the edge of the valley. She had been chasing the man for a while and hadn't caught up to him. If they were to fight in a small area she would have been able to win, but in a straight line she could not compete which left her full of resentments. She knew if she chased him further he would just run away or even worse lead her to a trap.

They say elephants never forget, but she wouldn't need a long nose to remember his scent. No, his scent was on the tip of her tongue only once.

With one final angry hiss she turned and slithered back to her brothers and sisters.

Sun Jiao turned away from the purple lights and began to run to the cave. He was also anxious to get back as he had decided to share what had happened to him. He'd spoken to Xiaobo about it while running and as long as he didn't mention anything about the goddess, the mission, or himself he didn't care.

Sun Jiao laughed and with a teasing tone interrupted Xiaobo.

<...It's a phrase. It means you dare to do what you're doing right now which is pissing me off.>

Xiaobo with a pouting voice replied.

Sun Jiao was getting close to the cave and began experimenting with closing off the link even though he didn't expect to use it much it would still come in handy. A short distance away he figured out how to block the thought-speak connection, but was unsure if it actually prevented Xiaobo from seeing.

He decided to try something that he had wanted to try since he had learned about ki, but was too embarrassed to do in front of Xiaobo.

Facing a large tree he held his hands in front of him shaped like claws with his wrists touching and palms out. He slowly brought his hands to his waist and twisted them so the claws would form a ball shape. Using his Will he grabbed some ki and brought it to the center of his hands and began compressing the ki into as small of a ball as he could he grabbed some more from his dantain and added to it. Once he was confident in the size and shape of the ki ball he quickly returned his hands to the first position and yelled "HA!"

The ball of ki flew out of his hands as if he had thrown it and landed on the ground where it dispersed causing no damage.

With a depressed sigh he removed the block he placed on the thought-speak and asked Xiaobo what he thought.

Sun Jiao cut the connection off again and continued towards the cave. He wasn't confident it worked since Xiaobo is a good liar, but it would be better than knowing he was watching and at the very least Sun Jiao wouldn't have to hear his teasing.

Just before entering the cave he turned on the connection again.

<-ME OFF YOU FUCKING CU-. Oh you're back. Look it's really boring in here when you do that. It's fine when I do it because I have something I'm focusing on, but when you do it...it's really too much.>

With a smile Sun Jiao pushed open the fixed door only to have the entire thing fall inwards as Xu Rong had merely placed it against the entrance. Sun Jiao didn't know whether to laugh or to cry as he took a step over the door and put it back in place.

Looking around the entrance he noticed Xu Rong had cleaned it spotless. Using the storage ring it was easy to store the blood and bodies without much work so not even a single bloodstain was left.

'I didn't think a ring would be this effective. Doesn't this mean I can kill someone and not leave any evidence? How do they solve any murders in this world?' Sun Jiao thought to himself.

Xu Rong had heard the door fall and came to investigate. Seeing Sun Jiao she ran to him as if she was going to throw herself on him, but stopped just in front of him with a blushed face.

She stood before him and clasped her hands held together at her waist with a nervous look on her face, the same one she had when they first met. This time though the her eyes that had been filled with fear had long since been replaced with a beautiful hope filled light.

Her hair was loose and wet as she had plenty of time to clean herself after sweeping the room with her ring. She wore a loose green robe that opened in the front revealing snow white skin dyed red from her embarrassment. Her arms pressed against her chest unintentionally accentuating their lovely shape and drawing Sun Jiao's attention. He could faintly detect the smell of flowers which reminded him of Sun Qing.

Xu Rong's was no longer fearful of Sun Jiao, but she still hadn't removed the habit of obedience and stood with her head lowered.

With a cough Sun Jiao got her attention causing her to look up at him.

Xu Rong gave a surprised expression and began to talk in a nervous voice.

"Ah! Hi...um..Wel..Welcome back m-master!"

Author note; Was going add this next part to next chapter but maybe I should give a little sneak peak? This may or may not happen next chapter, so it's definitely not canon:

EXTRASECRETSNEAKPEAKSRSLYGOODSTUFF:

"Ah! Um. Hi...Wel..Welcome back m-master!"

Sun Jiao took her into his embrace and gave her a passionate kiss.

"You don't need to call me master anymore. You can call me sun jai-no by my real name. I come from a planet called earth and my name is...JOHN CENA"

He then punched her in the gut, grabed a chair and bashed her over the head with it!

authornote: Now you know why the boy was never given a name!
