In an unknown place in an unknown time an unknown boy lays on the ground. He does not know how he got where he is, nor who he is. His eyes slowly open only to reveal still hanging trees, unmoving as if time does not matter to them. As the boy gets up his sight only fills itself with more trees, brightly lit by the sun, emanating a white light instead of yellow, providing everything with a curious look. Behind the boy is a tree, larger than any of the other trees by several times with a large hole inviting him in. The boy walks in only to reveal the tree is hollowed out from the inside with a large set of stairs leading to a higher floor. In the middle of the tree sits a woman, around her mid 30’s. Her hair is purple, possibly dyed, eyes like embers and a face which could be described as delicate, yet rough at the same time. She is sitting at a table decorated with a kettle, two cups and an assortment of sweets. She looks as if she is waiting, slightly impatiently with one hand on the cup which seems to house a hot beverage and with her other on her stomach which is large and round. The boy wants to ask the woman about his whereabouts, yet no sound comes from him. She does not seem to see the boy either, leaving him to believe he should move on. The only routes available to him are into the forest or up the large set of stairs. He decides to take the stairs. Arriving by the stairs it is clear to him how large they are or how small he is. Each step requires a short climb for him, but it’s no problem if it satisfies his curiosity. After climbing for about five minutes the boy reaches the top. He continues on and his sight falls towards another hole, similar to where he entered. Beyond the hole is a small wooden balcony overlooking the smaller trees. The trees which seemed large before now seem like tiny sticks decorated with many leaves. They seem to go on forever with the only visible thing beyond them being a grey looking sky with the sun. As the boy stares into the sky footsteps emerge from behind, only to stop next to him. He looks next to him and sees a figure, possibly thrice his size, human-like but skin layered with scales tinted slightly blue. The figure is too tall for his face to be in proper sight. “You’re calmer than I imagined you would be,” The figure says as he places his hand on the boy’s head. The figure’s hand is larger than the boy’s tiny head. “You are in my home.” The boy did not ask the question, but he did think of it. It seems like the figure knows what the boy thinks, creepy normally, but useful now. The boy has many questions but the figure does not truly seem interested in answering them anymore as he resumes talking. “You are not from here, but somewhere else. I brought you here because there was no place left for where you used to be and as such I am offering you a place here.” The boy is unsure what that means but wishes to hear more. “The girl’s soon to be born below us has already lost its place in this world and thus she will give birth to a lifeless body. My time left here is not too long and I had yet to find someone who can take my place, until I found you. You have no place for you were born out of anger and sadness and the final moments of your past life left you incomplete. I am giving you this chance to complete what you lacked by giving you a place as her child.” The boy ponders for some time. "If you do not accept, then you will return to the void in which I found you and she will simply lose her child." The boy looks towards the sun and the trees. An opportunity has been given to him, a chance for him to find out what happened before. He turns towards the figure one last time, He takes a deep breath and nods his head as the light from the sun dims until it is pitch black. "This will be a new start and I will expect great things to come." The last words from the figure echo in the boy's head as he loses consciousness.
