009 - The Outside World

Anna woke up refreshed after sleeping for more than ten days. The integration of the dungeon core and the expansion of her inner world had been more taxing than she had anticipated. But now, everything felt good.

"I should contact the elders to meet me."

The elders were spread across various continents, so Anna needed to determine which elder was currently on this continent. However, as she tried to sense them with her soul mark, she found that none of the elders were present. There were some direct disciples of the clan here maintaining the power, but Steel Granny was on her way from another continent. She had no immediate responsibilities, but it would take some time for her to arrive.

This must be a very low-level continent because Grandma Granny couldn't directly tear through space to come here, as that would damage the world.

Anna changed into a beautiful white dress, took one last look around her inner world, and suppressed her cultivation before stepping out.

The view changed dramatically as she emerged into a dense, beautiful forest, where nature’s splendor surrounded her. The forest floor was a lush carpet of moss and ferns, interspersed with fallen leaves and twigs. Towering trees with thick trunks and sprawling branches formed a majestic canopy overhead, filtering sunlight into soft, dappled patterns on the ground. The air was fresh and earthy, filled with the scent of pine and wildflowers. There was a different energy in the atmosphere, which Anna guessed was spiritual energy. She tried to bend the spiritual energy according to her will, and it was surprisingly easy; she could use it without absorbing it into her body.

As she walked, she could hear the gentle rustling of leaves, the chirping of birds, and the occasional scurrying of small animals. The forest was alive with the sounds of nature, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere. But this tranquility was shattered when Anna sensed something amiss in the forest.

Using her soul sense, she scanned the situation. As her soul sense spread, she gathered information about her surroundings. She was in the middle of the forest, where many beasts known as spiritual beasts roamed. According to power levels, the most powerful beast here was at the peak of the mortal realm, equivalent to the peak of the nascent realm. It was safe to assume that this was the highest power level one could achieve on this continent.

The tense atmosphere she felt stemmed from something deep underground that was coming into being, with every high-level beast guarding it. This situation astonished her; the being being born was a Divine Beast. It would take some time for it to fully manifest, but that was not what surprised her the most.

There were many low-level cultivators on the periphery of the forest hunting weaker beasts. In a secluded area, some men were chasing a girl who had no cultivation and was on death's door. The last attack from a male cultivator knocked her down, and she passed away, though the others were unaware of it.

Anna watched in astonishment as the sky split open, and a small soul with an otherworldly aura descended, entering the girl’s body. In an instant, the girl came back to life.

"What just happened? Did I just witnessed a cultivation novel trope involving the rebirth of an otherworldly soul in the body of a girl with no cultivation, just when I come outside world ? I guess that Divine Beast was also prepared for her by the Heavenly Dao. So, this is what they call the Daughter of Luck, or the protagonist meant to drive the world forward. I suppose the Heavenly Dao is a man of culture who has read rebirth trope novels to use the Daughter of Luck like a character in a story. This world is really interesting."

Anna traveled through the void to the girl’s location. She watched as the girl, who had trouble even running, killed all the male cultivators and interrogated the leader before killing him as well. Anna guessed she was a reborn assassin from another world, as expected of the Heavenly Dao, a man of culture. But she had to admit that the girl's luck was extraordinary. Although she was injured and her cultivation was crippled, she would not die. Perhaps she would find the male lead bathing in a spiritual spring somewhere to heal his injuries, and by coincidence, the girl would also heal there. Anna suspected the person she had seen heading toward that spring was indeed the male lead of this world. He was powerful compared to the people here, but not so much outside the continent.

Anna mused, thinking that the novel plots were coming to life. Then she had an outrageous idea: "Why don't I interfere in the plot? I guess even the Heavenly Dao would not expect it. So, what should I do? Maybe I should control her—no, then there would be no fun in watching. Should I divert the script to make the female lead strong from the start, so she doesn't have to depend on the male lead for help every time? Yes, that will do. I will heal her and make her powerful as a gift to show me interesting things. The Heavenly Dao will not be happy. I guess I will see where this goes, but a person with this much luck should be qualified to join my clan, so maybe I will make her indebted to me by helping her. I have plenty of time to make her join my clan."

Until Steel Granny arrived, Anna decided to travel around, knowing that the protagonist would go to the most interesting places on this continent. She would keep an eye on her. Finishing her musings, Anna noticed that the girl started walking toward the forest's edge but was intercepted by wolf-like spiritual beasts.

"I guess I should make my entry."

Anna took out a mask from her spatial ring. It was a beautiful pure white mask with intricate red designs, the mask of the clan leader that she had crafted in her free time. Wearing it signified her identity as the leader of the 'Drakaras' clan, making it easier to adopt different identities. No one could connect the two identities. After donning the mask, she emerged from the void in the centre of the battle. The girl and the beasts were both stunned for a few seconds, wondering where this person had come from. Anna's presence instilled terror in the wolves, causing them to prostrate and tremble in fear before her.

"Are you okay?" Anna asked, trying to sound cool.

Tania's POV

A splitting headache threatened to overwhelm me as I sifted through the memories of this body, Tania Ashborn. The girl had the same name as me in my previous life. Tania was the daughter of the most powerful general in the Dragon Country, destined for a life of privilege as a princess. However, fate had dealt her a cruel hand. Her meridians were blocked, and she couldn't cultivate. In a world where people could cultivate and gain power, she was an ant to be crushed, and with the privilege of being a princess many people were jealous of her . Her mother had died during childbirth, and Tania’s stepmother and stepsisters, jealous of her status as the legitimate daughter, had made her life a living hell, resorting to bullying and schemes to eliminate her. Today, they had succeeded.

Lured into the dark forest with the promise of meeting her fiancé, the crown prince, whom she had loved madly, she had fallen into a trap. The prince, entangled in an affair with her sister, had plotted her demise because he didn't want to marry a "loser." The thugs sent to defile her had met their end at my hands, but now I stood alone, my body weak and battered, surrounded by wolves—spiritual beasts whose growls echoed ominously in the dim light.

Sweat trickled down my forehead as I gripped the sword I had taken from one of the thugs. My heart raced, and panic surged within me. In my panic, I didn't notice that my blood was being absorbed by the ring on my finger, which began to glow faintly. I was in no condition to fight; this body was injured and crippled, its meridians blocked, rendering me powerless in a world where strength was everything. I needed to escape, to find a way to heal and cultivate, to gain power.

Just as despair began to creep in, an unexpected presence filled the air. A figure materialized from the void—a woman adorned in a stunning white dress, her face partially concealed by an intricately designed mask of pure white and red. The moment she appeared, an aura of authority enveloped her, causing the wolves to cower and prostrate themselves before her. I felt as if my heart was gripped by someone, and the pressure I felt was as if a god was standing in front of me.

“Are you okay?” she asked, her voice calm and cool, an unexpected contrast to the chaos surrounding us.

I blinked, momentarily stunned by her sudden appearance. Who was she? How had she come to be here? The wolves, once menacing, now seemed like mere shadows, their ferocity diminished in the presence of this mysterious woman.

Anna's POV

Anna looked at the girl, who was stunned, and thought, "Maybe my performance was so cool that she couldn't speak."

"Hey, are you okay?" Anna asked again, but the girl's response surprised her.

"Thank you, Lord 'Drakaras,' for saving me," the girl replied in a shuddering voice, fear evident in her eyes.

"How do you know who I am?" Anna asked, amusement creeping into her tone. She could almost guess the answer, but she still wanted to hear it. The girl had cold sweat dripping from her forehead. Were the wolves that scary?

Tania was having the most difficult time of her life. Her life was saved, but she was in greater danger, as her life now depended on the person in front of her, who was more dangerous than the wolves. The leader of the 'Drakaras' clan, the most powerful clan in the world. Although she was a "trash" who couldn't cultivate, she was from a general's house and knew a lot. Even children knew that the 'Drakaras' clan was the most powerful, but what they didn't know was that this clan was from a higher continent, and its lord was a mysterious woman with white hair and red eyes. She always wore a white mask with red intricate designs. Only she had the power to travel through the void and come and go anywhere she wanted. So how could Tania not know about her, especially when she appeared out of thin air with such powerful pressure that she wasn't even releasing but could still be felt?

"Reply to the lord; everyone in the world knows about the lord's powers and her ability to travel in the void, as we grew up hearing about them," Tania's answer greatly satisfied Anna.

But Anna replied in a cool voice, "Oh, is that so?"

"Yes, ma'am," Tania said, still trembling in fear. Anna noticed her fear and she blinked beside Tania and used the light spiritual energy in the atmosphere to heal her injuries, then manipulated time on Tania's dress to make it as good as new.

Tania was terrified when she saw Anna suddenly appear beside her but relaxed as she felt a warm glow surround her, healing her injuries. She was astonished to see her battered and bloodied dress transform back to its original state, as if time itself had reversed for the garment. (well it was reversed) Tania yearned for such power; she wanted to be powerful.

Anna noticed Tania's yearning and lust for power and was greatly amused, as her plan to change the script or destiny of the Daughter of Luck was working perfectly. To make further progress, Anna asked Tania, "Can you cook?"

Tania was completely bewildered by the question but still answered, "Yes, ma'am, I can cook."

To reward her and make her powerful without any complications,

Anna said, "Then can you cook something for me? And since you are from around here, tell me about this continent. If I am satisfied, I will give you a reward that you need the most right now."

It wasn't that Anna hadn't eaten anything for a long time so she was craving food. Tania was astonished by the condition Anna had set, but she had suspicions. How could a person of Anna's level need food made by her? She looked at the mysterious woman in front of her, trying to find any hint on her face to confirm her suspicions. Then she thought about her condition. Aside from being from another world, there was nothing about her that could benefit Anna, so she accepted her fate. But how could she know that Anna only wanted a reason to make her, powerful and was seriously craving food so she made such request?

"What do you want to eat, ma'am?" Tania asked,

she didn't know the mysterious woman's motives but she was determined not to let the opportunity to get a reward from such a powerful person slip away.
