Browsing through the internet, like usual, I was wasting away the remainder of the day. Then, a blue screen popped into existence in front of me. Reading it, I learned of the apocalypse that was about to happen. Like so many stories on RoyalRoadl and other websites, an invasion of monsters was taking place on my world and all of it's inhabitants, including me, we know living the life of an rpg.

Springing into action, I burst out of my apartment and ran over to my neighbor's door, quickly knocking, I awaited a response. Soon, my neighbor, a fellow teen, opened the door asking the same question that I wanted answered, "Did you see that blue screen?"

With my answer being nothing but a curt yes, I beckoned her to follow me. Either from the shock of me seeing the blue screen too or the suddeness of it all, she complied and started after me. Having confirmed my suspicions that the invasion was reality and that we only had a limited amount of time, I hurriedly gathered the rest of my neighbors for a meeting.

I quickly explained that the event was no coincidence and should be held from that point on as the truth. Some people tried to deny the truth, as most people would in a case like this but I shushed their outcries and began instructing them on what we should do to survive.

I told them to call of the word Status, like in so many web novels, in order to see their stats. Waiting for their excitement to calm down, I explained what each of the stats represented to the best of my knowledge.

Strength-How much force your body could use and is basically quantifying the strength of your muscles

Agility-Your gross motor skills, the swiftness of your movements and attacks

Dexterity-Your fine motor skills, things like drawing, fixing things or even precisely attacking a point on a person or monster

Vitality-Your health and health regen

Endurance-Your stamina as well as stamina regen

Intelligence-Speed of thoughts, memory and amount of mana

Wisdom-Decision making ability, rate of learning and mana regen

And finally, Inventory-A private dimension used for storing items such as a starting weapon that was given to everyone

After finishing my explanation, a countdown appeared for exactly one minute. It was explained by the blue screen as the time until the monsters will begin to appear.

Seeing the countdown, I told them the final part of how to survive, to form a group and band together to fight against the monsters. Knowing the logic in what I was saying, they agreed to unite beneath my command. But, just as they all finished agreeing to join my group, I said one last thing before running out of the apartment complex, "Maybe I will see you guys around, good luck with surviving!"

Hearing his final statement, I realized that he wouldn't be staying with us as a group member but venturing out alone. I almost chased after him in order to try to convince him to come back but was stopped by a passing thought, I have no reason to go try to get him back as we barely know each other.

But then I realized only too late, that he was the one who gathered us all, taught us all how to survive and could be considered as the reason we gathered together as a group.

Knowing that someone had to take command or else their may be chaos, I stood forward and elected myself temporary leader until a better time as the countdown reached zero.

Soon after, an ugly, grotesque, imp-like creature appeared from no where inside the hall that our group was gathered in.

Seeing us, it spurned into motion, charging at us with a club. A few of the braver people in our group stepped up, summoning their weapons from their inventory and using them to beat, hack and slash the creature to death.

Soon after killing the first one, several more of them appeared and everyone in our group, including myself, were forced to fight for our lives.
