Chapter 25: Rampathump!

As the warriors and Rabbarians clashed, Thorian approached Nox and said, "We need to patrol around the wall. Other monsters might breach us from another spot."

Nox furrowed his eyebrows and suggested, "Okay, should we go with the assassin team?"

Thorian glanced at the three assassins who were awaiting his command before nodding, "The more, the better."

One of the three assassins chuckled and said to the other two, "I'm almost done with the monster-slaying quest. Only have one left."

"Lucky," another kobloid clicked his tongue. "I didn't get the chance to kill many. I still need five before I'm done with that quest."

Hearing the two discussing their quests, Thorian opened his journal.

Journal Slay 10 monsters (completed) Daily Cast a spell 20 times (completed) Daily Cultivate your Qi for two hours Daily Gather 100 Wood Units Daily Clear one dungeon Daily Pact with the Wolven Guardians Unique Revenge on the monsters (Partially complete) Rare

Noticing that two of the quests had already been completed, Thorian turned his attention to the remaining quest.

Milestones Rewards Kill (50/50 monsters) Level +1 Kill (88/100 monsters) Previous rewards and a class skill of your choosing Kill (0/250 monsters) Previous rewards and Level +2 Kill (0/500 monsters) Previous rewards and a purple cloud weapon specific to your chosen class

Huh, I guess even the kills I shared with wind boy and the other fire magus were counted. Good, that makes the process much easier.

Thorian closed his journal and concentrated on the patrol. He kept his ears open for any sound or noise that might indicate something was amiss.

After a few minutes, Thorian's ears perked up as he heard loud, rhythmic thuds in the distance. He glanced at Nox, who was also focusing on the same spot, and said, "Someone is trying to break the wall."

Without wasting any more words, the group hurried towards the source of the noise, weaving through trees and leaping over bushes. Unfortunately, once they reached the section of the wall where the thuds were coming from, there was no watchtower to provide them with an advantageous position.

"Let's scale the wall," Thorian ordered before sprinting towards the wooden wall with all his might. With one powerful leap, he reached most of the wall's height and grabbed the ledge. In a fluid motion, Thorian hoisted himself on top of the wall to gain a full view of the perpetrators.

Giant rabbits with twisted goat horns confronted him. The white monsters numbered in the dozens, each of them glaring at the wooden wall with rage-filled eyes and salivating, growling mouths.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Checking his mana, Thorian was pleasantly surprised. I still have a quarter left, that should be enough.

Nox and the other three assassins swiftly followed Thorian, assuming a ready position to pounce on the giant rabbits. Aware that Nox's abilities were now stronger than a typical level 1 kobold due to the minor moon boost, Thorian wordlessly permitted him to join the fray alongside the other assassins.

The group of white kobloids leaped down from the wall while Thorian launched a fireball at one of the giant rabbits. However, the white ball of fluff somehow bounced to the side, evading Thorian's spell entirely.

I forgot how annoying these Thumpalopes were.

Realizing that merely standing at a distance and hurling fireballs would not suffice, Thorian followed Nox and the assassins, jumping off the wall's ledge.

Nox and the assassins darted across the battlefield with exceptional agility. However, the giant rabbits were nearly as fast, giving the kobloids no chance to strike without risking being surrounded.

Thorian charged into the fray, facing the pack of rabbits that bounced around, attempting to catch him off guard. Three of the Thumpalopes sprang towards him from the left with incredible speed, determined to impale him with their horns.

Boom!

Before the giant rabbits could even reach him, Thorian struck them with a Combustion Touch, immersing all three of them in infernal flames.

"Rampathump!"

With one final cry, the three Thumpalopes were incinerated. The remaining rabbits shifted their focus from the kobloids and zeroed in on Thorian with wrathful eyes.

"Ramparampathump!"

Dozens of the giant rabbits lunged at Thorian from all directions, leaving no room for escape. Left with no choice, Thorian placed his left palm on the ground.

Combustion Touch.

With a massive explosion, Thorian was propelled into the sky, evading the imminent threat. The Thumpalopes collided with one another, their massive horns clashing. The fortunate ones merely butted horns and were left dazed, while some of the rabbits impaled each other with their razor-sharp horns.

However, Thorian did not escape unscathed. Although his Flame Resistance protected him from most of the burn damage, the shockwave itself was enough to force his elbow into an unnatural angle.

Tsk, it is very badly dislocated

After landing on the ground. Thorian rushed back in without any hesitation. The pain from his injury could be dwelled on later. Now, he needed to kill. With a strike from his right palm, Thorian activated Combustion Touch once again, killing five of the rabbits in one hit.

Naturally, the remaining uninjured Thumpalopes couldn't sit idly by. They clearly understood that Thorian was their greatest threat and focused on him. However, as they left their backs exposed, Nox and the assassins swiftly moved in and severed their spines with their axes.

Four of the rabbits that were left closed in on Thorian, only to be met by a Combustion Slap. The flames instantly killed the first three Thumpalopes, leaving the last one severely burned.

"This one is for me. Thank you!" Nox nonchalantly beheaded the rabbit with a single swing of his axe, while Thorian took labored breaths.

"I'm out of mana," Thorian spoke laboriously before pointing at the injured Thumpalopes. "Finish them."

"You don't need to tell me twice, boss," one of the assassins pounced on the opportunity with a grin, as the others followed right after him. Nox and the assassins didn't need much time to dispatch the injured and stunned monsters. In less than a minute, they completed the task.

Level up!

Thorian's eyes widened at the notification, and his lips formed a slight smile. Although he had seen this same screen countless times before, he couldn't be happier that it appeared at this moment.

Thorian's dislocated elbow gradually realigned itself, as if guided by an invisible force. However, unlike a normal procedure, there was barely any pain or discomfort. He could only feel a sense of relief as his left arm became usable once again.

With the hunt over, Thorian scaled up the wall alongside the other kobloids. He was fatigued and his mana was already depleted. Trying to fight in this state was simply an unproductive task.

"I will take some time for my mana to recharge," Thorian stated after walking a few steps from the wall. "Continue patrolling the wall. If there are enemies you can't handle, report back to me in the Village Hall."

Nox, who had already noticed Thorian's state, nodded and smiled, "Don't worry about us, we won't have any problems. I'm just a few kills away from evolving."

Thorian opened his eyes wide in surprise before chuckling. That makes sense, his level has always been close to mine.

Thinking about the abilities of an evolved night kobold and their synergy with the assassin's skills, a weight was lifted off Thorian's shoulders.

The rest of the kobloids also smiled, and one of them said, "Rest well, king. By the time you come back, all of us will be strong!"
