White kobold
Flame kobold
Without hesitation, Thorian chose the second option.
Starting Evolution…
A peculiar energy swirled around Thorian's body, enveloping his skin and muscles. He experienced an intense surge of vitality that welled up from within, causing his bones and muscles to expand painlessly. His once snow-white fur began to shimmer with a golden radiance. As the light gradually subsided, his fur underwent a stunning transformation, emerging a brilliant shade of crimson red.

As Thorian scanned his skills, he couldn't help but click his tongue. So I lost the moonlight boost… That's a shame, but I've got better skills now.
Eager to explore his newfound abilities, Thorian quickly realized the monsters below wouldn't afford him that luxury. The final Chaska was scaling a tree, poised to leap into the village, while hobgoblins relentlessly assaulted the wooden walls with their spears.
Fortunately, Thorian's evolution had restored his mana pool to its maximum capacity. Drawing upon his power, as he had done countless times before, Thorian conjured his familiar spell. However, the fireball that materialized atop his palm was strikingly larger than any he had previously summoned.
Fire Affinity is truly useful.
He unleashed his spell at the airborne Chaska, engulfing the beast in a torrent of flames. The feline creature plummeted to the ground, writhing in agony as the fire consumed its fur, skin, and flesh.
Without hesitation, Thorian rapidly summoned a barrage of spells, raining them down upon the monsters below like a cascade of hellfire. In no time, the hobgoblins lay incapacitated or lifeless, while the remaining goblins fled in terror back towards the safety of the forest.
As Thorian exhaled a deep, steadying breath, the very fabric of space itself began to shudder and fracture with a thunderous cacophony. A swirling vortex of darkness and light coalesced before the village walls, casting an eerie, pulsating glow on the surrounding area. The air crackled with palpable energy, and a sense of foreboding settled over the village, heralding the arrival of an unknown force.
"A portal appeared this close? This will be problematic," Thorian muttered.
Without wasting a moment, Thorian sprinted down the stairs, his speed unfazed by the rain or the muddy terrain. Within seconds, he dashed through a dense cluster of trees and arrived at the Village Hall, just as his group of kobloids emerged one by one.

"Everyone, gather here! Immediately!" Thorian commanded, his booming voice startling the kobloids. The pack hastened to their king, a mix of confusion and excitement on their faces. Yet, none were aware of the impending danger that lurked nearby.
"A horde of monsters is rushing toward us from the northeast side. We need to slay them before they breach the wall," Thorian explained quickly.
His words ignited the kobloids' spirit. As the group rushed toward the spot Thorian had just come from, the white kobold looked at Thorian with interest.
“How many are there? I want to hunt them all.” Only after expressing his desire for battle did he notice the change in Thorian’s fur. “And why are you red? Is that blood?”
“It’s my evolution,” Thorian explained. “I am now a Flame Kobold.”
The kobloid’s eyes widened in shock, while Nox smiled with unbridled joy.
“Really? That is so cool!” The night kobloid exclaimed. “I heard so many stories about Flame Kobolds; they’re very strong!”
Thorian chuckled at Nox’s reaction. “You can tell me all about those stories later. We need to focus on the monsters outside right now. They are going to be a hassle.”
Just as Thorian finished speaking, loud thuds that threatened to crack the walls shifted his attention. Without saying a word, he rushed toward the watchtower alongside Nox and the kobloid.
“Are those… goblins?” Nox asked.
The monsters were indeed green like goblins, so Nox’s confusion was warranted. However, they were much bulkier and had two small tusks protruding from their mouths. They were also riding giant armored boars and wielding mighty battle axes in their hands.
“No, they are orcs,” Thorian explained in a low voice. His attention then shifted toward the high orc commanding his army from the back. He was riding a blood boar that was much larger than the other armored mounts, with mightier tusks and a meaner look on its face.
Meanwhile, the kobloids reached the bottom of the watchtower and stood in a daze, not knowing what to do.
“Only the magi go up the stairs; the rest stay down,” Thorian commanded before looking at the kobold. “You go and take the warriors to fight them on the ground; we will be giving long-range support from above.”
The kobold grinned. “I was waiting for you to say that. I will tear those overgrown pigs to shreds!”
“Don’t go in immediately,” Thorian warned with a stern look. “Give us a few minutes to thin out their army first.”
“You got it, king,” the kobold nodded. “I will wait ten minutes before charging in.”
After the four Magi reached the top of the watchtower, the kobold walked downstairs and gathered the warrior and the priests. Nox followed after him, along with the assassins.
Meanwhile, the orcs were still charging at the wall beneath them with their armored boars. Each time they struck it, the wall would cave in a little or be cracked.
Does the low-level wall have trouble even against these lousy attacks? I need to upgrade it very soon.
He looked at the wind Magus and ordered, “Prepare your Wind Gust. I will launch my fireball right after you use your spell.” He then turned back to the fire magus, “Try to time your attack with mine and launch your fireball in the same direction.”
The two kobloids nodded and opened their palms in the direction of the orc army below them. The green pig-like monsters almost numbered in the hundreds, with most of them standing unmounted and guarding their king in the back. The cavaliers that were riding the warboars were around twenty, separated into squads of five that took turns ramming the wooden wall.
Noticing the trajectory of the wind magus’ arm, Thorian grinned, I like your guts, wind boy.
The moment the Wind Gust was unleashed, Thorian launched his fireball spell, and so did the fire magus behind him. The three spells flew in tandem above the mounted orcs and standing ones before reaching the high orc commander.
Boom!
The moment the Wind Gust struck the orc commander, the two fireballs exploded into a flaming pillar that rose higher than the trees. The explosion engulfed the high orc and a dozen of his subordinates in skin-melting flames.
“Another one!”
Following Thorian’s order, the wind and fire magi prepared their spells once again and launched their strategic combo. Another explosion struck the high orc with the flames of hell, heating its armor until it glowed red.
With two explosions happening back to back, the rain could not quench the flames, letting them spread across the battlefield, devouring the fleeing orcs that stood in their path.
“Fire everything!”
This time, the earth and water magi also joined in launching their spells at the scattered enemies. Naturally, the water magus focused his spells on the mounted orcs that were closer to them, knocking them off their boars and drenching them in water and mud. Meanwhile, the rest of the green monsters ran away from the raging fire.
Level up!
Without needing to look at his panel, Thorian already knew that it was his class that leveled up. His focus remained firm on the battlefield, keeping track of every change.
While some of the orcs ran deeper into the forest, most of them were forced to charge toward the wall. The unquenching flames cut their paths of retreat, and their only hope was to either break through the wall or climb it. Unfortunately, that task was not going to be easy.
“Charge!”
The white kobold raised his woodcutting axe and charged at the orcs alongside the warrior kobloids. The two priests stayed far back to provide support to the warriors without putting themselves in danger.
While the warriors charged into the melee, Nox and the assassins sneaked their way to the backline using the dark and dense trees as cover. Whenever they saw an opening, the assassins would pounce and tilt the tides in the warriors’ favor.
Meanwhile, Thorian and the magi focused their support on the orcs that were closest to the warriors. With their long-range support, even though the kobloids were disadvantaged in numbers, they could not be overwhelmed.
With each strike from the white kobold’s axe, an orc’s head would be sent flying or a limb would be severed. The stout warrior kobloid also showed remarkable prowess and kept up with the kobold. His axe shone with a brilliant blue while dyed with the purple color of the orcs’ blood.
“Roar!”
The high orc, who everyone had deemed dead, rose from within the flames with a charred body. Its blood boar was already dead, suffocated by the smoke, and its flesh burned by the flames. However, it persevered with an iron will, showing all of its subordinates that it was still alive and ready to fight.
“Fireball.”
Thorian’s simple incantation launched another spell at the orc commander’s face, pushing it straight back into the tongues of hell.
