"Good morning, my chosen warriors!" The voice of Fear Herself resounded, stirring everyone from their slumber. "I am delighted to announce that the First Event has finally concluded! Rewards are being distributed to the victorious participants as we speak!" She let out a mischievous giggle. "Now, it is time for the commencement of the second event: the Scavenger Hunt!"
Cara observed as her screen displayed the quest menu, listening attentively to Fear's explanation. "In this event, the focus is on enhancing yourself and your faction's strength. Seek out territories, weapons, or any other hidden treasures scattered throughout the land! Remember, there are no explicit winners in this event, for the very act of discovery is its own reward."
Cara presumed that Fear's message had concluded, but to her surprise, Fear continued speaking. "Oh, and due to some individuals growing too formidable, I have bolstered the strength of demons that can be found, providing you with an even greater challenge!" With that, Fear's voice vanished, leaving behind a sense of anticipation and adventure in the air.
Cara let out a sigh, realizing that her rapid progress had seemingly displeased Fear Herself. Curiosity piqued her interest, and she decided to inspect the faction aspect that Fear had bestowed upon the highest-ranking faction.
Upon checking her screen, she was greeted with the following notifications:
The skill
Cara's thoughts were abruptly interrupted by the entrance of a young girl into the faction's base. The girl appeared to be around Arien's age, her long black hair trailing on the floor as she toyed with three glowing rings adorning her arm. A mischievous smile spread across her face as she spotted Cara, and she floated over towards her.
"I don't have much time, Cara. Let's make this quick. What do you desire as your reward?" the girl, who was apparently Fear Herself, spoke.
Cara's confusion was evident as she responded, "Fear? This isn't exactly how I imagined the ruler of our dimension."
The girl chuckled, taking pleasure in her current form. "I rather enjoy this appearance. Would you prefer me to transform into something more intimidating?"
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
"No, that won't be necessary," Cara replied. "I would like to postpone receiving my reward for now. I know your true name, so I should be able to call upon you whenever needed."
Fear Herself burst into uncontrollable giggles. "Oh, you mortals are truly amusing," she managed to say amidst her laughter. "An Overseer never reveals their True Name, especially not to a mere mortal! Fear Herself is merely a title!" Her laughter subsided gradually. "But I understand your intent. The next time you invoke me, I will fulfill the reward you are owed."
Fear turned around and left the faction's base.
Cara, Katie, and Jordan gathered in the meeting room, their attention focused on a map of the city spread out before them. Cara had called this meeting to outline her plan for the second event. Three chess pieces were placed strategically on the map, serving as visual aids to support her explanations.
"Jordan, you and Cato will lead a third of our forces northward," Cara stated, moving one of the chess pieces to indicate the direction. "Katie, you and Jessica will also take a third and head westward," she continued, moving another chess piece accordingly. "It is crucial that you and your partner discuss every decision thoroughly. If you encounter any disagreements, contact me immediately. Is that clear?"
Both Jordan and Katie nodded in understanding. Jordan spoke up, curious about Cara's role in the plan. "And what will you be doing?"
Cara smiled and replied, "Lotus and I will be heading south. We'll leave the remaining third of our forces to defend the base. Alan and Amara will be in charge of leading the defense."
Once everyone was in agreement and had gathered up their respective forces Cara gave one last message before departure, “We will meet back at the base in one week's time, if you are late by even a millisecond I will be running to save you. Bring glory to New Uruk!”
Cara and Lotus had traversed a distance of twenty miles, a feat that would have been arduous for ordinary people before the apocalypse. However, as heroes, their physical abilities exceeded what would be considered feasible. After four hours of walking, they arrived at a seemingly ordinary location. Instantly, a notification appeared:
After reading her sponsor's message Cara still had more questions, “Elaborate on very little time,” She said cautiously
Cara nodded and clicked yes on her screen. Immediately she and Lotus were transferred into the dungeon.

The room they found themselves in was circular, its brick walls extending up to the ceiling. The cold black brick also formed the floor. In the distance, a staircase constructed of pure light beckoned. Soon, demons started to pour into the room. Notifications materialized on the heroes' screens.
